Agree to disagree. Marrone may have picked from a short list Whaley put together or many options. I don't give credit to Marrone for it. I have no facts to give him credit or facts not to give him credit. However, choosing to give Marrone credit for anything I am guessing on is something I don't feel I need to do. The D was bad previously because they were poorly coached with tons of talent. They were underperforming before Pettine and Pettine knew that. It was a rare opportunity.

That was the last thing the strong Marrone supporters say on this board. We don't hear that anymore. Fyi, IMO Pettine and Schwatz came here because of the D and to launch themsleves to HCs. The D was and is that awesome and appealing.

Agreed!! But, I (IMO) would prefer to be an AFC Finalist team than the Division Champion. Although, I guess winning the AFC East would be a 50% chance of automatically being the AFC Finalist.

I think Piitsburg and Baltimore too, but, they always seem to replenish well. That is until they don't. Maybe Baltimore has lost too much over the years. I also don't think Tomlin is as good as Cowher was so we may continue to see them not replenish with ease.
