I actually think the mechanics makes me want him more. If he is that accurate not stepping into every throw then he can become even more deadly. I like how he thinks, quick decision making. Touch throws to people on the money, the fast release, and how he climbs the pocket and fires.

You're arguing against the weakest version of the opposition to Tyrod. Many of the people arguing against Tyrod are doing so because they already see a losing team whether we pay him 30 million or not. We were already a losing team last year and there is no reason to believe spending more of the salary cap for that same QB while HURTING other positions will improve that record.

Small sample size with EJ and Cardale but it does seem Whaley falls in love with the big prototype size QB.

I like Mahomes best as do you. But when NFL teams get arrogant and instead of trusting their board believe they can see the future they don't draft as well. No QB in this draft should be taken with a top ten pick. Now if you really have a crystal ball, by all means do what that tells you. I see the draft as looking through a glass as best as you can but knowing that you can be wrong!

Mahomes will come cheaper than he should because the "mechanics" and gimmicky offense. Which is fine because many NFL teams are clueless and focus on the wrong things.

Bills cannot afford to overspend to build a champion. See Raiders who got Mack and Carr in the same draft. I love Mahomes but no need to throw away picks to do that or not get him for the right price. If some other teams overpay then you get value and get ready for an even more loaded 2018 QB draft.

I love Mahomes but he is probably too short for Whaley. Unfortunately Whaley doesn't prize pocket presence and accuracy in a QB.

You have to take him at the right place. If other NFL teams view him as a late 1st/early 2nd round pick you cannot take him at 10. Trade back to 18-24 and get another 2nd round pick. None of us have the actual boards for NFL teams but indications are that Mahomes can be had cheaper than that.

The issue with Ragland is that even if he wanted to get lighter and faster to fit the new scheme he is coming off a ACL injury.

The reason why the Bills had a shot at the playoffs was their outstanding defensive line. The D-Line would completely take average QB's out of the game when you had Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes, and Marcel Dareus. Now Williams is old and gone, Kyle could retire, Dareus hasn't been dominant in years, and Jerry looked bad last year. Now you go to the second level and linebackers. Lorenzo was a star in the 3-4 and will be gone, Zach Brown probably gone, and Preston and Ragland are good but probably not ideal scheme fits for the new D. Secondary. Best player is a free agent wearing shoes about showing him the money, best safety probably done and hasn't been on the field, no other safeties to speak of and who knows which corners will thrive or be worse in a zone scheme. I see 6 wins even if we pay Tyrod 30 million which is why I am not eager to do it.

This has been explained. Many feel the Bills roster peaked 2 years ago and we are now on the downswing due to age, additional Free Agency loss, and coaching scheme changes. Tyrod himself is a great example. 2 years ago we had him on a dirt cheap contract and he delivered. But upping his cap hit more than 10 million makes him no longer the same value.

Oh no. These great veterans that led us to a brilliant 7-9 finish and have bombed every time their number was called year after year. That's why it's time to ship out the old and build a team that can win.

Normally people are right and that you can't really tank in football. Most drafts don't have elite QB prospects and it's hard to predict the future. However, all the stars are aligning this year to be bad. Lots of free agents gone, little cap space, and we have an out on Tyrod. 2018 looks like a special year for QB's like the 2014 draft was for WR's.

Well EJ is a special case. The guy looked better as a rookie then the player we saw last year after years of Bills coaching.

This draft is loaded compared to last year. Bills should get as many picks as they can and stock up!

Well, Waufle said he has a plan for Marcel Dareus! Should be interesting.

That is the biggest positive from Rex being gone. If Dareus doesn't drag race and smoke the synth he could be a beast again.
