There is also danger in telling the Pegulas in private "we are close" sign everyone you want such as Taylor and Gilmore. But then what if this grand playoff push you want ends up being a 6-10 season next year? Then Whaley is gone EVEN FASTER than if he is honest about the roster and tries to get a real QB.
You will have to ask the Bills. But Whaley already said he is not looking to pay a bridge QB 30 million. If the Bills keep Tyrod they will not be drafting a QB high as he is now "the guy".
Kelly is only worth getting if we had a coach that will cut him if he messes up.
You draft Chad Kelly and you tell him to be at work every day at 4:30 AM. You hire a guy to follow him around so he doesn't do dumb stuff. You draft him you babysit him or it's a wasted pick.
Maybe it's time to get rid of these great veterans that don't give 100% effort. I'm fine with that.
And Rex got the boot because his defense didn't perform. If Rex had just missed the playoffs but it was the offense not getting it done he would still be here. I think McDermott gets 3 years to show something. First 2 years to find a QB and he gets till next year to build the D.
We'll see. Lots of free agents could be done with Alexander, Zach Brown, Gilmore, Robert Woods, Aaron Williams. And maybe Tyrod gone, new schemes means more needs at linebacker, corner, etc. Even running game could be changed up.
This draft is loaded with talent compared to last year. If we can get Mahomes and extra picks I will be very happy. Bills have tons of holes to fill at WR, Secondary, RT, etc
I agree with almost all this except the end. We can't see EJ Manuel around every corner. Ravens had their EJ pick with Kyle Boller but they then got Flacco in round 1.
I don't like any of these QB's as a top ten pick. I personally would roll with Mahomes over the others if the price was right. The things I watch when looking at QB prospects is how they handle pressure, accuracy, and pocket presence. Throw in a big arm and quick release and Mahomes jumps out for me.
There is a discussion as I said at 13:43 or so on the video where they explain how Mahomes unconventional footwork actually is preferred to get the ball out quickly in key situations. It's not like he is sloppy, he is doing this as an athlete to get the best result which impresses the hell out of me. Compare to shortstop in baseball that needs to get the ball quickly to 2nd for double play.

Waldman and Schofield both completely disagree with you. Either this guy is just placing the ball perfectly or dumb luck...

Aaron Rodgers fell from a top 3 pick to late first round because of his mechanics and people worried he was going to be another failed Tedford QB.
I am glad that Mahomes played in a gimmick offense, it presents a discount opportunity.
I agree on this. You might want to take him with your second but if you hear 2 to 3 teams wanting to jump in front then you reconsider. Do you still like him at 20-25 in the first? Trade back and take him there.
Mahomes is the QB I want. He is not a long term project like Cardale but Mahomes shouldn't have to start right away. Sign a veteran and don't play Mahomes until coaches feel he is ready. If Bills are out of playoff race early Mahomes could get some snaps at the end of his first year.
