  1. This is about where I am. I think Whaley did put together a playoff team that would have broken the drought but Rex messed it up. The Pegulas are now giving Whaley the chance to do it again. I want to see what we do at QB. I don't hate Cardale but that is a long shot. Whaley has 2 drafts to bring in a real QB.
  2. This could help sell tickets after we let go of Tyrod. I could see marketing wanting the Bills to use a late pick on him.
  3. I don't think Leslie Frazier is an upgrade on Rex Ryan.
  4. I expect simple zones, non-aggressive defense to make our team look even worse next year against Brady. As for the other teams waiting to find out who is calling the plays.
  5. Hey, that would work for me! I really think as a Bills fan I trust blind luck more than the strategy coming from One Bills Drive to get us out of this mess.
  6. Sure, coaching can make a huge difference. Who is calling the plays next year?
  7. I expect the Bills simple zone schemes to be carved up by Tom Brady next year. Maybe against weaker teams we will "play faster" and beat up on some scrub QB's. I don't get where this great improvement is coming from. Is it because Rex was holding back all the talent? You really believe that?
  8. To think the defense is going to improve just because Rex is gone is more hope than anything. I do think players like Dareus will be better in the 4-3 but then there are players that will not play as well. Continuity is a good thing, just changing the scheme means you are starting over on defense. Can you tell me who will call the plays on defense? No? But that will be an improvement. Color me skeptical. On offense the schemes will change as well. Bills were running Roman's scheme with Anthony Lynn calling the plays. Now that scheme is gone and Anthony Lynn is the head coach for another team. I like Kubiak. Who knows how good Dennison is and who is to say he will do better with a Tyrod than Roman/A Lynn? Way too much faith in scheme change helping on D while saying the scheme change on O will be an improvement as well. It sounds like faith and not reason.
  9. Another difference is that the Jets won 10 games the prior year. The Bills won 7 games last year. They don't have to "fall off a cliff". 6 wins paying a bridge QB 30 million would be an unmitigated disaster. And my evaluation of Bills being a playoff team was past tense. They could have made the playoffs if they hired Hue Jackson and played a 4-3 defense a couple years ago. Unfortunately that was their talent peak and they have been on the decline in talent and this year with all the pending free agents they are not even close to a playoff team with or without Tyrod.
  10. The same Bills fans that want to fire Whaley also want to keep Tyrod because "it could get worse". Funny how that only applies to Tyrod.
  11. We showed Denver that year. Since then though....
  12. Whaley built a team that should have made the the playoffs and lost in the first round.
  13. The 2017 Bills could be the 2016 Jets! I'm All In!!!
  14. It comes down to honesty. If I were Doug here is what I would tell the Pegulas. I built the first playoff team for Buffalo since 1999. Unfortunately, Rex Ryan messed it up. Now that roster has aged and gone to free agency and we need to reload. Tyrod will never win us a playoff game without luck. Let's draft one more QB and let them compete with Cardale. If they fail we get another top QB prospect next year. Between top ten QB 2018, top 2 round QB 2017, and Cardale we will find our guy. Let's roll.
  15. Anything less than 9 wins Whaley should be fired if he sells the Pegulas on a playoff push with this roster.
  16. If Whaley pays Tyrod 30 million and the Bills win 6 games he should be fired.
  17. Looks like a 5 win season but you paid a QB 30 million.
  18. I love Lorenzo but he's gone.
  19. I have no bone to pick with you, your QB evaluations are great reads and nuanced. My issue is with the anti-Mahomes posters that go "Back Foot, no way. Pass."
  20. This isn't about your QB evaluations per se it's about the mechanics are everything crowd. They are very important but need to be taken in context of results. Aaron Rodgers had scouts attack him for holding the ball wrong, etc. While many of these points are valid some fans take some of these mechanics criticisms too far.
  21. Patriots are brilliant at fitting the right players at value into their system. Bills acquire talent but it's usually an army of misfit toys. Star WR's with no QB to throw for RAC, star DT's that are asked to play nose tackle, players drafted for the wrong scheme, etc
  22. I am with you on this. Results over Process. Jared Goff had way better mechanics than Dak but these issues are not the end of the story. Mechanics worry me when they cause inaccuracy.
  23. Rivers jumped because he showed up at the Senior Bowl and absolutely killed it. I don't see Mahomes as getting that kind of opportunity but he could move higher into the 1st round on the mocks.
  24. Mike Mayock in 2014: Quarterback 1. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M 2. Blake Bortles, Central Florida 3. Derek Carr, Fresno State 4. Jimmy Garoppolo, Eastern Illinois "The kind of projection I want to make with Manziel is Steve Young,'' Mayock says, referencing the Hall of Fame San Francisco 49ers quarterback. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000346685/article/mike-mayocks-position-rankings-for-2014-nfl-draft
