  1. The only Super Bowl Tyrod will be at is as a guest. To get there you need to be able to make throws to beat good teams.
  2. I'm with you. Find the guy, get value, and beat someone to the punch.
  3. A team with a great QB. Let's go find that...
  4. You know what would be Billsy? Brady stays two more years and Patriots rebuild after faster than Buffalo even though we have had 17 years to find a QB.
  5. Absolutely. Plus Trubisky is a perfect system fit.
  6. Jets are a great landing spot. Coach and GM on the hot seat. Trying to eke out wins rather than worried about their teams long term best interests.
  7. He's my favorite in the draft anyway. I only like Mahomes and Trubisky in the first two rounds and like Mahomes better because I like to gamble on higher upside.
  8. Anyone that thinks the Bills are picking up the option on TT AND drafting a QB in the first round is deluding themselves. If the Bills pick up TT the Bills will be "making a playoff push" which means no high picks on QB.
  9. If you believe that Tyrod is Russell Wilson then I can understand why you want to keep him. Tyrod cannot throw like Russell Wilson. They are not similar in their passing abilities.
  10. Most people can't see that. Bravo. Yes, committing 30 million to Tyrod Taylor does change the options you have at QB. The Bills themselves said that they would pick up the option if TT was in their LONG TERM PLANS. So if we pick up TT then you are selling us on paying a QB 30 million who can't hit receivers in stride, who can only throw 2 main routes, and depends on running to get first downs. You also will then not pick a QB in the first 3 rounds for at least 2 years. That would be horrible just to sell fans on false hope who still think this group is a playoff team.
  11. Tyrod Taylor is not Russell Wilson. If he was the Bills would have already picked up his option and there would be no "evaluation" or discussion needed.
  12. Hey, I like the optimism. Won't try to dissuade you. I have no idea what Shaq will do but he is a better 4-3 end than an oversized linebacker!
  13. Yes, if only Whaley didn't try to help Rex fix his D last year at the expense of drafting Dak Bills would be in much better shape.
  14. Yes, for amateur scouts it's harder to get the intangibles right. Look at Dak. For the outsider he was a a bad guy from the DUI. From people that knew more he is a workaholic, high character guy that dedicates every game to his mom that died. Dak asked his college coach to change the offense so that he could be more ready for the NFL. That's the sign of a guy that can lead a team, not just be a passenger. Proactive.
  15. Mediocrity? Most fans want to keep going.
  16. That's incredibly optimistic. We had a bottom defense last year and it's not all on Rex. The scheme change requires a certain type of linebacker. Preston Brown and Ragland, who's the mike? Zach Brown is a free agent. Are you signing him? We don't even know who is calling the plays yet and you say we are top 5?!
  17. I expect some players to be better. Dareus will do better. But others don't fit the scheme. Our linebackers are a mess. We have no safeties. Gilmore is a FA. Will McDermott call the plays? He doesn't know!
  18. I don't care about money paid out. I care about money paid that counts against the cap. I don't see the defense getting to top 5 with no room in the cap and another change in scheme.
  19. Something about Goff being a robot. Didn't like intangibles.
  20. Taylor has averaged 7.5 wins on a low contract. You give him 30 million and there is even less talent around him. Unless you believe TT is about to improve drastically. No evidence for that.
  21. I think the distinction is a fine one. Many of the "anti-TT" people were TT fans just last year and the year before when he was making no money and we had the pieces on defense. But I don't like TT at this point because I don't want to give him a pay raise when I think the Bills playoff window has closed. NFL teams, because of the cap and draft, have cycles. I just see the Bills on the downswing and that signals a time to rebuild and gather more picks.
  22. My scouting friend told me that Goff reminded him of Kyle Boller...
  23. I think that Whaley was able to sell the Pegulas that he DID build a playoff team and that Rex blew it. But now the window closed and he gets a do over. Mike Glennon is the ideal QB for a stealth tank! Keep Mills at RT and let Glennon work his poor man's Bledsoe from the Bills routine.
  24. Doug Whaley loves prototypical size QB's. Tall, thickly built, strong arm. See EJ and Cardale. That's what scares me a bit, I think that accuracy +pocket presence are more important for the current NFL.
