  1. I'm not arguing with you. Just saying that some players do well in the NFL when the lights come on. Brady looked the part in his first pre-season game. In the 2000 preseason, the 49ers and the Patriots played a game that foreshadowed the futures of Carmazzi and the quarterback drafted 134 spots behind him. Thrown in for a quarter against the Patriots’ first-team defense, Carmazzi looked nervous and overwhelmed. He completed three of seven passes and was sacked twice. Brady appeared in one mop-up series for the Patriots and showed poise and precision, connecting on three of four passes. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/03/sports/football/03draft.html
  2. Having "it" in the NFL and college are two different animals.
  3. Rivers played in the Senior Bowl and elevated himself. People were saying late 1st/early 2nd and then Rivers went top 5. Give me guys that want to compete.
  4. Well, TT has reached his ceiling. These other QB's have a chance at surpassing him. I would like the Bills to have a plan beyond next year.
  5. EJ had it all. Except "it". Ability to perform when the lights come on. I bet EJ looks great in practice.
  6. Going back just 2 drafts, see the 2014 draft. 3 QB's worth taking after the first 3 picks. 1 32 Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville Minnesota Vikings 2 36 Derek Carr QB Fresno State Oakland Raiders 2 62 Jimmy Garoppolo QB Eastern Illinois New England Patri Carr obviously. Bridgewater looked very good prior to the horrific injury. Garappolo unknown but looked like a very good player when he got in real game action. Bills need to step up and swing and not let EJ ruin them on doing that.
  7. Oakland has Reggie who came from Green Bay. They have a great track record in drafting QB's so it's not just dumb luck they got Carr.
  8. I get your point. A lot of teams have a hard time evaluating quarterbacks. But it's not completely random as you suggest. That's why the Bills should spend resources on the best QB scouts they can. Not every team ranks players the same. The Bills claimed they had Ragland as a top 20 player last year. That scares the hell out of me.
  9. It's too early to call the record for next year as we haven't had the draft and free agency. But my best guess for next year based on who's leaving is that even with Tyrod this team looks like a 6 win team.
  10. There were a lot of people concerned that we spent 3 picks on a 2 down linebacker. As for Prescott, the Bills had him higher on their board and wanted to take a QB in the fourth round. If they hadn't crapped away picks for a limited range linebacker they very well could have finally solved their QB problem. Again, the Bills are a team that neglects the QB position and has done so by only drafting 2 players at the position in the first 2 rounds in the last 20 years.
  11. Sure, that's one way to look at it. But the Bills themselves said the decision isn't about what is the best we can do next year but to find the best long term solution. This is about how the Bills themselves have framed the decision.
  12. Agreed. I think many people here are hoping for the TT bandaid and aren't reading the tea leaves here correctly. The fact that Whaley is saying he will only pick up TT's contract if he is the long term answer and then hearing Bills PR guys talking about aiming for greatness means TT is gone to me.
  13. The Bills tried to move up for Roethlisberger but Jacksonville wanted Williams the receiver and refused us.
  14. But as Watson heads toward the NFL draft, evaluators around the league believe his prospects are murky. At this point last year he was pegged as the top draft-eligible quarterback and probable No. 1 overall pick. Now he’s projected as the second or third quarterback off the board, with a ceiling of mid-to-late first round. Watson hasn’t regressed significantly over the past year, though he had a few shaky performances early and had patches when accuracy and/or decision-making weren’t great (especially near the end zone). (Mike)Shanahan: It takes a while to learn to be a pocket passer. You can tell that he (Deshaun Watson) struggled a little bit with the intermediate and deep routes. That does take some time. Your footwork in the pocket, your ability to slide in the pocket, instead of just taking off and looking downfield or looking at the holes in the defense where you can keep your head up and still slide and still focus downfield. And key the whole defense? That takes time. That doesn’t happen overnight. So that’s something he is going to have to work on. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/01/11/nfl-draft-deshaun-watson-stock-round-scouting-report-mike-shanahan-josh-mccown-randall-cunningham
  15. \ Whaley will be gone if the Bills win one less game than last year? If Whaley lets go of TT the Pegulas will be be on board.
  16. Watson had a far better group of offensive talent than any of the other QB's we are talking about going high.
  17. Well, this was dumb. Sammy loved him and we need to do everything we can to keep him happy since we aren't getting a QB for him anytime soon.
  18. Watson was throwing to a group of NFL receivers at Clemson. He's not a bad prospect but he's not a top ten pick.
  19. I like Mahomes and Trubisky the best. I want the Bills to try to get an extra 2nd round and take Mahomes around 18 to 23. This is a loaded draft and the Bills need to restock the cupboard.
  20. Even if Frazier installs McD defense and not the Tampa 2, Frazier is Dick Jauron 2.0. I hope Frazier isn't calling the plays.
  21. Shanahan will want Trubisky. I expect him gone to 49ers.
  22. I would rather have Wentz than Watson. But I could agree with you that Watson better than Goff.
  23. If the Bills draft Watson with a top pick I will be sick. I wouldn't waste a late 1st on him.
  24. Come on who needs a slant pass. Very overrated pattern. All we need are two throws. Go and curl pattern.
