  1. Great, find us the next Nate Hackett and let us know who he is.
  2. Dak ultimately had high character. He texts his mom who died from cancer before every game and his number 4 on his jersey is for her birthday. He is a workaholic. The DUI incident was unfortunate but the Cowboys and other teams felt quite comfortable taking him. Prescott arrives at The Star by 6 a.m. most days. He'll leave the complex in the late afternoon or early evening, grab a bite to eat and spend several more hours studying. He likes to take a break for an hour or two before going to bed around 11 or midnight. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/dallas-cowboys/cowboys/2016/09/10/ready-moment-dak-prescotts-work-ethic-earnedveterans-respect-prepared-cowboys-spotlight
  3. Yes and none of this happens overnight. It is a long process to cash in and make money. Fans who just think of how entertained will I be by the product next year are not thinking on timelines that people like Terry operate on. Self made billionaires might be short with small things but they can wait out as long as they need to make their plans happen. Most people are just treading water and can't plan more than a few months ahead. Especially a football fan base that hasn't made the playoffs in 17 years.
  4. I wouldn't worry about convincing him. At this point he has expressed his feelings but has not supported them with data. Most people know that Childress is a top offensive mind.
  5. I rooted for the Patriots in their first Superbowl with Brady when they were the plucky underdog. Since then they have been nothing but the most arrogant, hateful group of players ever assembled and it's a joy watching them lose.
  6. Which is why I want the Bills to prioritize QB coaching both at a micro and macro level. Need the right offensive system + QB guru to develop our own diamond.
  7. Yes, and then he was traded. During the whole year after I drafted him, it was partly his fault -- Favre was always late for meetings, drinking a lot, didn't even know the scout plays. He couldn't even run the scout team, they were telling me. I'm not there every day, I might be there through Tuesday and then I'd go out [to scout] for a couple of days, and every time I'd come back they'd say, "Oh, you should see what your guy did today." It was always my guy. It wasn't our guy. It was my guy. And I had no defense. I couldn't come back and say, "This is what he can do." Favre has admitted many times that he was a train wreck as a rookie. He partied, missed meetings and team functions and knew he had fallen into Glanville's doghouse. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/17211520/how-brett-favre-landed-green-bay-packers-made-happen
  8. Brett Favre might have washed out of the league if he didn't go to Green Bay. Green Bay forced him to show up 4-5AM every morning. Brett eventually was broken in correctly because if he got drafted somewhere else he might not have worked on his game.
  9. Nope. People can change but almost never do.
  10. Yeah, that's why I doubt Olson is the guy. If he is then either McD is an idiot or we are tanking.
  11. I would take a random shot over Olson. None of these guys would make me not take Childress. I am sure Sean McDermott hasn't worked his way up his entire career just to guess on his most important hire.
  12. While I don't disagree that you could find a good OC that is someone's QB coach you do realize teams block these requests all the time now? Jim Bob Cooter was QB coach for Lions and Bears were denied chance to make him OC. You would have to have a team willing to part with their best up and comer and that doesn't happen if they are doing well with the QB.
  13. Why would Andy Reid block his friend? Reid believes Childress should be a head coach in the NFL. Your objection makes no sense. Childress is a top offensive mind. How do you arrive at "mediocrity". Please explain this. When Childress last had a good QB he finished top 2 in the NFL in points scored. Also, Eagles tried to grab him last year. He would be in demand. Sean is getting this chance to grab Childress because he is part of Reid's coaching tree.
  14. Childress would be a huge get for Buffalo. Wade Phillips has done quite well for himself after getting fired by the Bills.
  15. Yeah, but that's different than what I mean. Bills interviewed him and he wasn't a consideration this time despite having the best resume.
  16. I like Mahomes but we should be able to get him a bit cheaper than that.
  17. Lots of teams are clueless. I agree with that. My friend who is an amateur scout liked Prescott more than Jared Goff. Way too much group think by NFL GM's. Need new blood.
  18. He has a league reputation as being good with young QB's. I can't tell you if this is deserved but it does explain why he moves around a lot.
  19. I hope Olson is getting the interview and we take Childress as OC and offer Olson the QB coach position. That's what he is good at.
  20. Childress would be on merit. I have no idea what Olson does but I agree that he is not a great coordinator. I think he gets jobs because he has a league rep of working well with young QB's.
  21. One of these names is not like the other. Cable, McDaniels, Shanahan. Yeah, looks like Kyle Shanahan. He is brilliant but hasn't got a job yet because of his personality. He rubs people the wrong way.
  22. This. Doesn't matter how bad you are. Once you're in you're in.
