  1. Pegulas really need to hire a good PR person. This will only infuriate the media more and they will now take out their anger on Mcdermott tomorrow. No honeymoon.
  2. I remember when this guy was mentioned for Bills head coaching jobs I thought of him as the next Dick Jauron.
  3. And people wanted Coughlin here in the front office. Way worse situation than Whaley.
  4. For those who wanted Polian as Football Czar. Her has declared Sean McDermott as a home run hire.
  5. I like the idea of Ragland ultimately realizing he needs to drop weight and playing the mike. The system does work well with a high football IQ player like Ragland. If he can't do that then here is a player the Bills could target with a 2nd or 3rd round pick that would work as a mike in the McD D. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCGyy5bWd-E
  6. Ragland needs to drop weight to play the mike in this defense. or he can play strong side LB and play 2 downs. I would try to trade him.
  7. The Jim Johnson 43 Defense relies primarily on zone reads, with Zone Blitzes executed by the Front Seven, as well as Zone Coverage in the Secondary, in order to make up for the deficiencies of the group, or to roll coverage onto a studly WR or TE. It all starts up front, with the lanes opened up by the DLine, creating gaps for the LB's to blitz through, creating pressure which forces the QB to chuck an inaccurate ball unto which the Secondary makes a play, hopefully forcing a turnover. The different units of the Defense must work in unison, or else the effectiveness of each unit will become moot. For example, if the Defensive Line is being blown off of the LOS, and can't do their job, it prohibits the blitzing LB's from completing their own tasks, allowing an opposing QB/RB to gash the defense as a whole. Furthermore, having subpar players executing a zone will create a weak link in the zone, or an open target for the opposing offense. The Jim Johnson Defense can be very effective, dialing up pressure from seemingly nowhere, as well as coercing a QB into phantom blitzes that can confuse the opposition. An effective Jim Johnson 43 Defense can keep an opposing offensive coordinator guessing all day, playing into the hands of an amalgamate defensive unit. http://www.catscratchreader.com/2012/2/28/2831884/the-panthers-defense-a-treatise-on-the-jim-johnson-4-3-part-i Nice little write up.
  8. Ragland would be useless trying to cover man to man.
  9. ' Lynn wasn't even running Lynn's system. He was running Greg Roman's offense. He said if he had an off-season he would change it.
  10. Tebow is not TT. Tebow is the worst starting QB of the decade.
  11. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/den/2011.htm#all_team_stats Yes, he can.
  12. John Butler to be DC. With McDermott reported to be the leading candidate for the Buffalo Bills’ head coaching vacancy by The Buffalo News and his friendship and respect for Butler, a highly-regarded assistant coach for the NFL’s top-ranked defense, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Butler emerged as a strong option for the Bills’ defensive coordinator position should McDermott land the job. McDermott has interviewed for the San Francisco 49ers’ job and also met with Bills owner Terry and Kim Pegula. Butler has drawn praise for his work with the Texans’ second-ranked pass defense, coaching safety Quintin Demps, who has six interceptions to lead all NFL safeties, along with cornerbacks A.J. Bouye, Johnathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson and an injured Kevin Johnson. Butler interviewed for the 49ers’ defensive coordinator job last offseason, opting to stay with the Texans along with linebackers coach Mike Vrabel after being pursued by 49ers coach Chip Kelly. Texans coach Bill O'Brien regards Butler, a former Penn State defensive coordinator, as a future NFL defensive coordinator and head-coaching candidate. "John Butler is an excellent coach," O'Brien said. "John Butler, in my opinion, is destined for great things in this profession. I think he'll be a coordinator someday. I think he'll be a head football coach somewhere someday. Did a great job for us at Penn State and he's done an excellent job for us here as guys really rely on him. http://m.chron.com/sports/texans/article/Texans-John-Butler-has-ties-to-Bills-HC-target-10849220.php
  13. McCoy would be excellent. Someone that understand NFL passing game and hopefully Whaley defers to him when drafting the QB.
  14. Yeah, I have no idea what he thinks. But the chances the Bills hire another coach that likes to punt look pretty high based on the list.
  15. I talked to one of my friends that is a scouting guru(amateur scout that wrote articles for some of the big sites). He likes Watson and thinks he could do well in the right environment. But he is not someone to spend a top ten pick on.
  16. Sammy loves Lal. We better keep him here.
  17. Great QB prospect. Could translate well to the pros was a 5 star recruit out of high school I believe. Could go in 3rd round and Webb and Mahomes are the 2 QBs I would target.
  18. Both Marrone and Rex were saved by the coaches they hired on the other side of the ball. Roman-Lynn did much better than Rex's D and Pettine-Schwartz kept Marrone's college offense afloat.
  19. The Browns have a plan with all these picks and being on the bottom. I see them as aiming for 2018 the way the Sabres went for McDavid-Eichel.
  20. The Browns won't take a QB at 1. I could see them taking Mitch with their second 1st rounder which is after the Bills pick if he is still there.
