  1. I think Watson will be available at 10.
  2. I worry that we hire a defensive play not to lose coach. Hopefully McDermott is not too conservative.
  3. Great game. Instant classic.
  4. I hope somebody drafts Watson in top 9. Push someone down to us.
  5. Mike Williams sighting.
  6. Watson just does dumb things like that. That will get you killed in the NFL.
  7. Watson, wow. Dumb to take a hit like that.
  8. Yeah, I don't want to spend a high 1st round pick on any of these QB's. Mahomes makes me feel good in the second as a good value where you have a decent chance to hit without spending a king's ransom.
  9. He seems to speak in coach cliches. So there's that.
  10. Pat Mahomes in the 2nd. 4. Pat Mahomes, Texas Tech. Valuations on Mahomes vary from Top 50 pick to undrafted free agent. While his size (6' 3", 230 pounds) and arm strength are enticing, scouts wonder if he’s just a product of Tech’s system. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy doesn’t think so. Here’s Gundy, earlier this month: “I think [Mahomes] is a potential first-round pick. He reminds me a lot of Dak Prescott, when we played Dak and Mississippi State when he was younger. The style of play, body, strength, speed, ability to throw in different positions, it reminds me a lot of him.” http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/11/25/nfl-2017-draft-sleepers-fastest-risers-next-dak-prescott-mitch-trubisky-nathan-peterman
  11. Sabres have all the main pieces needed for a core to compete. They now need to add some defense and get rid of dead weight Moulson, Gorges, Deslauriers, and Grant.
  12. So now that we have some information but not the whole story. Time to try to put the pieces together again. Whaley realizes that this roster is not a playoff roster next year. And he wants to aggressively rebuild/reset/tank. Pegulas want to pretend all is well and keep TT and sell more tickets next year, promising fans we are close if we fix the D. I would love to be a fly on the wall listening to these interviews where Whaley is looking for a coach that doesn't want TT and the Pegulas are doing the opposite. What a mess.
  13. Thanks for the information so far. It just seems odd to me that Whaley is leading the search and calling in candidates and he isn't pleased with his own work!
  14. Do you have any sense of what Whaley wants out of all this? We are very confused here.
  15. Yes, I think so. And Whaley did call McDaniels last time and it appears we were turned down.
  16. There is also a question of fit. The Patriots draft high IQ players as a trait. The Bills look for size/speed/power guys. That's why Bills D and Rex were a mismatch. Bills players could run Seattle scheme as they draft for players in a similar mold. If we did hire a Patricia or McDaniels we would have a huge purge of players to fit their coaching style. Well, the Bills requested an interview with McDaniels last time and it never happened. I also didn't notice their names in the Jets and Dolphins recent interviews. I think the burden is on people who think they would want to start their coaching career against Brady and Belichick.
  17. It seems pointless. The Patriots assistants have just not wanted to coach in the AFC East since Mangini. So even if we wanted it we wouldn't get it. Do you have information that points to them willing to coach in the AFC East recently?
  18. My point was drafts after EJ. Of course you can move the windows around to make your point. My point was that the Bills had a chance to get a good QB in here on the cheap 2 out of the last 3 years and failed.
  19. That's because Patriots underlings don't get to bring Bill Belichick, Ernie Adams, and Tom Brady. I find the idea interesting but it won't happen.
  20. It's not happening. Bills called for McDaniels interview last time and it never happened.
  21. 2014 Teddy Bridgewater, pick 32 Derek Carr, pick 36 2015 Mariota and Winston go 1 and 2. High quality but needed a high draft pick 2016 Wentz and Goff go 1 and 2. Dak Prescott goes 135. 2 out of the last 3 drafts had high quality QB prospects available far after top ten.
  22. Be careful what you wish for.
  23. If Whaley leaves the Bills are in big trouble. Who would want to be GM for a team where the owners overrule you on QB and coach all the time? You get the blame for decisions that aren't yours. You change schemes at the whim of the owners instead of hiring coaches that can coach the players you drafted.
  24. The Sabres tried the go for it approach with a failed roster when Pegulas bought the team. They signed Ehrhoff, Ville Leino, etc. They crashed and burned and started rebuilding after that failed. This current Bills roster does not have a QB that can win a playoff game. There is nothing to save here.
