  1. For 17 years old, the kid has it all. He is going to be a very good QB. This has nothing to do with the Bills tanking, or drafting him. It was simply to show a high-quality high school QB recruit (#1 in the nation), and the skill-set he has...which is impressive. Does he have things to work on? Absolutely, who doesn't at that age? But, it's more about the fact that he already has so much, at such a young age. (And again, he is rated higher than Matthew Stafford, who improved A LOT at Georgia...where Eason is going.) I enjoy watching and breaking this stuff down, I thought some others would/did too. I personally have never seen such a polished 17 year old QB. I am very impressed with him. (Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I have been in the hospital the past week...glad to be out!) Thanks for watching and responding. Every QB at 17 years old has "a long way to go before he's in the NFL." The point is, he is much further along at this stage, than many QB's before him. EJ Manuel still has "a long ways to go" to be good in the NFL.
  2. He is the last person I will listen to talk about QB's now...especially after this. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2014/04/18/johnny-manziel-jon-gruden-houston-texans/7857409/ "Jon Gruden, who recently worked with Manziel for his Gruden's QB Camp television series on ESPN, says the former Heisman Trophy winner has a rare skill set you don't want to regret passing up." "Gruden also compared Manziel to Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young, who would improvise and run often early in his career." (I bet all the teams who passed on him really "regret passing up," that skill-set.)
  3. Clearly, the entire point behind this post was missed...I guess I'm not shocked. Sorry I bothered. Lol.
  4. Again, Evan Mathis is not a fit for this team, or they would have probably already brought him in. He is a zone-blocking offensive guard, not a power-blocker like what the Bills have and want to build with. Everywhere you look, this is what you will read about him... "Not a road grader." http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/football/2005draft/Mathis,Evan-OG-Alabama.htm "At 6'5/298, Mathis is an athletic guard and would ideally land in another zone-blocking scheme." http://corner.bigblueinteractive.com/index.php?mode=2&thread=512380 "Just about the only weakness in Mathis' game is that he's not much of a power guard, but that's not his game." http://www.cincyjungle.com/2011/7/15/2277815/bengals-scouting-report-evan-mathis None of that sounds like the kind of offensive line the Buffalo Bills are trying to build. He is 290 lbs, whereas Iupati (Roman's LG in San Fran) was 350...Evans does not fit this offensive line's scheme.
  5. And please, folks, this has nothing to do with the Bills needing a QB. Lol. I just wanted to share this with people. His skill-set blows my mind. Right? Especially for his size!!! The director of scouting for 247 sports says "there is nothing he is missing." (And he is not even a senior in high school yet!) http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/247sports-jacob-eason-tops-2016-class/vi-BBie9aA
  6. Definitely real. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/efe-obada/
  7. I understand this is long down the road, and you can delete this if you want...but I just wanted to share this with people, so they can get to know him now. This kid is going to be a stud. There is zero doubt in my mind, as long as he stays healthy, he will become a top-pick in the NFL draft when he is eligible. He is 6-5/6-6, 215 lbs right now, and he will be a senior in high school next year. These are his junior season highlights. Look at how good he is already. (I'm really into football and hockey prospects, I was watching Connor McDavid long before there was any "McEichel" debate.) This kid could be the next generational talent at QB in the NFL...check him out. His arm is incredible. His mobility for his size is impressive. His footwork, the way he squares up to throw, the power behind his throws, the ball-placement and touch on his throws, the way he drives off his back foot and puts his hips into his throws, the spin on the ball when he does throw...it's all there. (Highest rated QB commit since Matthew Stafford in 2006.) (Again, sorry if this is not the place to post something like this, but seeing these kinds of things gets me excited for the future of the sport. I love this stuff.) EDIT: He has played varsity ball since he was a freshman, and I think he has been a captain since his sophomore year...but I cannot find the article where I read that.
  8. That was my vote as well. The offense Chan ran in KC with Tyler Thigpen (pistol), might have been able to bring out more in JP. I am glad this is just a poll...and we don't have to worry about this. Lol.
  9. "Bottom Line: Has the body type and movement of a zone-scheme center with guard potential. Technically sound and has athleticism to become an NFL starter, but must prove he can handle the substantial jump in power and speed he will see. Looked strong enough at the Senior Bowl, but he could be a year away from being ready. Ascending prospect with a chance to be one of the steals from this year's group of interior blockers." http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ali-marpet?id=2552332 As I posted in another thread, I saw him play a couple times down the road, and a high school friend/teammate of mine coached him for 2 years...he just does not seem like a fit, especially in the 2nd round.
  10. PFTonNBCSN @PFTonNBCSN - Mar 31 "@TreJackson54 has the potential to be a starting guard for double-digit years in the NFL." - @RossTuckerNFL I want the biggest, nastiest S.O.B. there is...but I still think Kouandjio (and Richardson) turn it around with this staff, in this scheme. As for Marpet, I saw him play 20 minutes down the road at Hobart a couple times, and I just don't think he fits in this scheme, unless it's at center. A former high school teammate, and a friend of mine who coached him at Hobart his first two years, says the same thing. But he thinks he could be a pro-bowl player in a zone-blocking scheme.
  11. Jordan Gay at QB, Colton Schmidt split out wide...60 yard bomb...Touchdown!
  12. Rather take a chance on Jean Sifrin...he's a freakish athlete. Sure, he's 27, but he has a lot of mileage left on him.
  13. You really tried to compare Jameis Winston to these bums? LMFAO, good one.
  14. This is exactly why guys like Richardson and Kouandjio have a better chance at succeeding under this regime, compared to the last regime. It is also why I don't think LG Evan Mathis and his 290 pound frame is a good fit for this scheme...Roman's LG in San Francisco (Iupati) was 350 lbs. Isn't Incognito a better run-blocker, and Williams a better pass-blocker...which would make sense to have Incognito at RG, and Williams at LG?
  15. Rex had a 6-4, 260 lbs OLB and a 6-6, 280 lbs OLB with the Jets (Pace, Coples), I see no way Bradham fits that mold. Brown is 260 lbs and quite the thumper. And as for TE, I don't care what the thread is about, my post wasn't about "post-op veterans," I just happened to add that Gresham is a specific player who fits the mold of what we need, and he could be cheap and not cost a draft pick. But if you want to take an unknown TE with your first pick, instead of something else, and fill that role with a cheap free agent...go for it. And thanks for the heads up on Spikes not being a done deal, I wasn't sure, although I said they "MIGHT" bring him back, which if they do, eliminates the need to draft a MLB.
  16. Scherff won't make it to #20, let alone #50...Shaq Thompson is not falling out of the 1st round either, especially not to the 3rd round. Lol.
  17. Bradham and Brown are the ILB's and Rex only carried 3 with the Jets...they currently have Powell, and might bring back Spikes. ILB is not a "need." Another TE is more of a need, although I think they need a blocker, not another receiver, at the position. (Jermaine Gresham, when he's healthy, if he's cheap, fits perfect.) I agree with that as well...if DGB is there at #50, I see no way you can pass on him. He brings an element to the Bills offense I don't think we have ever had, at least not in 15+ years.
  18. Brandon Bridge has more developing to do than Jeff Tuel, who is already 2 years into his development. Whaley has said that late-round picks will not make this team, so I would rather use the two 6th round picks, or a 6th and a 7th, to move back into the 5th for someone they want and can use, like another OG or a project OLB like Lynden Trail...something along those lines. No QB they draft this year will see the field, so I rather not have another QB taking reps in practice...build up the rest of the roster and it's depth, so it's ready for a 1st round QB next year.
  19. I pray every night that Greg Roman can work his magic with EJ, like he did with Alex Smith...nothing would make this year better, than EJ being the QB who is winning the games. However, I think the better bet is that we finally find out that what we have will not cut it, and next year they do everything within their power to move up for the best QB available. Whether it be Connor Cook, Christian Hackenburg, Cardale Jones...whomever it is, I'm not sure, I just hope the Bills do everything they must do to get him. (I want him to succeed, I'm just not sure he has what it takes to be a legitimate NFL starting QB who wins football games with his arm...which he WILL need to do, eventually, for a championship.)
  20. I'm pretty sure that Whaley or Rex has said they do not want the 2 young kids next to eachother, which is why they talked about moving Glenn inside and Henderson to LT, with Kouandjio at RT. The way they laid it out, it sounded like this...Henderson - Glenn - Wood - Incognito - Kouandjio (Wish I could remember the interview, pretty sure it was on Murph's show.) Also, didn't Whaley recently say, "unless someone is there that we cannot resist, we will not draft a QB early." He also just said that the later round picks will not even make the roster, which leads me to believe they try to use them to move up and get 3-4 players they really want.
  21. Pretty interesting contract... http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4741254/breaking-down-greg-hardys-contract-2
  22. Ranked 46th out of 78 guards, for that kind of money? I rather go with another, cheaper, below-average guard in Kraig Urbik.
  23. Mariota working out for Chargers...they are VERY high on him, apparently. http://boltbeat.com/2015/03/13/marcus-mariota-san-diego-chargers-rumors/ And there are rumors the Chargers could use Rivers as a trading chip to move up in the draft. http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/2015/03/17/san-diego-chargers-rumors-trading-philip-rivers-to-move-up-for-marcus-mariota-is-well-worth-it/ IF the Bills are going to be giving up a bunch of assets for a QB, I would much rather them trade up for the best QB in the draft next year, than give up a lot and pay a lot for a 34 year old QB.
  24. Everybody knew Russell Wilson had an NFL arm, the question was about his size and poise in the pocket. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/russell-wilson?id=2532975 "Wilson is this year's big-time question mark at quarterback. Unlike those who have held this title in the past, Wilson is a stellar passer who shows arm strength and accuracy when he is able to deliver the ball without a hitch...If Wilson were three inches taller there would be debate at the top of the draft as to where he fits in."
  25. Chad Kelly will be the savior after winning a national championship at Ole Miss this season. Hackenburg, Cook, Jones...one of them will be the Bills QB in 2016, I'd bet my life on it. (I'm sure Terry would LOVE Hackenburg too.)
