Matt Milano and missed tackle
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Milano has been a nice story since drafted. I have to admit that I'm starting to wonder about the missed tackles. The team had the second most in the league and Milano was the biggest culprit. He needs to be better. -
Allen out-playing other playoff QBs
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching other playoff teams it's really astounding the playmakers they have. We're just not good enough yet to beat good playoff teams regularly. Those playmakers make a difference at that level. -
Josh Allen - PLAYOFF GAME report card
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I purposely waited over night for this. I watched the other games and came to the conclusion that Josh is a B and Watson is an A-. The bad plays were overstated and he got a 16-0 lead and put up 356 yards without an interception. He did fumble and wasn't perfect, but after watching how other playoff teams support their QBs (let alone a young, inexperienced one) I raised my grade from the C+ I was thinking last night. Don't get me going on the play to win with 16 pts. coaching and lack of playmakers they've given us. Watch Hopkins, Theilen, Thomas etc. and it is hard not feel jealous. There are others. -
Allen out-playing other playoff QBs

You know what I'm jealous of is watching these receivers (Thielen, Thomas, Hopkins) and the catches they make to help the QB. John Brown had a nice year, but can't even execute a relatively simple toe drag. -

After this game it's a great opportunity to form a mental list of certain posters, some will get over it quickly, some in a few days, others will continue like this. -
Josh Allen article

Didn't read it after I saw this, if true...and I assume it is. Calling a guy who is obviously bright, and scored a 37 on the Wonderlic is a disqualifier for me. -
I agree and I'm hoping McD comes out in the next few days and states this not what he said yesterday.

Great Post Hapless! Nothing to add.

It is not as simple as the OP states. When he says great coaching gets us the 1 point wins or gets us to where we are. I see it as McD and his philosophy make the team competitive and give them a chance in most games. That means 8-8, plus or minus a game or two based on fortune, good or bad. He has proven to be that level of coach. But, let's not lie to ourselves, the approach keeps the games close, but it's not going to beat playoff caliber teams very often. We just aren't aggressive on offense or defense and put people away. We start our run, run, pass or run, run, run and playing soft coverages and giving them yards. The approach absolutely needs to change and hopefully it will with better talent in some areas.

Who cost us the game today?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to fishgrappler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The single biggest improvement in this team needs to be a pledge to stay aggressive throughout the game and step on other teams throat. It was a big philosophical problem all year and will improve many things if they do just that. -
What Changes will be made this Offseason?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Other than adding more talent wherever. The single biggest thing they should do as a staff is, make a pledge to continue to be aggressive on both sides of the ball throughout the game. It was a problem all year. It will make a lot of things better just doing that. -

Duke suiting up today vs Texans

Having Andre is big today. He catches the ball and doesn't allow any roll and won't fumble. We got this! -

So Bobby Foster is out after all. He's done nothing to deserve being in there really.
