  1. Yes I also believe this to be true. I believe that in environments with a high level of uncertainty the best strategy probably is optionality. Hey you might hit on one. I mean some guys just look the part and can't play, Ryan Leaf, Jeff George etc.
  2. It sounds like you think Whaley could have a new lease on life too, and he is not going to a one and done. Barring more porn piotures that is.
  3. That's what I hope as well. Not sure I'm convinced yet though.
  4. Not saying I think we should do this or not. Reading the tea leaves, Jim Kelly comments about Tyrod Taylor indicate he's not coming back. Jim is employed by PSE and I don't think he would have come on a strong as he did without reason. Pegula saying maybe he can win more games. And, Whaley doesn't sound like he's a supporter either. Where is the support? Having said that, this is starting to look more and more to me like a rebuild. I know Whaley said 7-9, not good enough, and we're close. My question is if Whaley brings in someone other than A Lynn, can it be considered anything other than a rebuild? Bringing in a new HC, likely inexperienced or unsuccessful before, and him bringing in his own QB either by draft, trade or FA is very unlikely to yield positive results for awhile. When you combine this with our defense needing to be fixed, it could be that Whaley has his new lease on life. If we are 4-12 next year it will be with perhaps a rookie coach and QB and I can hear the we like the direction were headed it takes time in this scenario. I'm torn about whether this has any merit? Maybe at the end of the day it ends up Lynn, Taylor and a new DC trying to get into the playoffs. I'm curious what you thoughtful posters out there think?
  5. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000769829/article/jim-kelly-tyrod-taylor-is-not-answer-for-bills-at-qb If he is on the payroll and I have no reason to doubt it. Generating this type of headline and story means one of 2 things. The Bills org is likely done with Taylor unless the incoming coach makes a strong pitch for him, or Jim went rogue and it caused more damage.
  6. If I'm Whaley I bring Coughlin in today and talk to him.
  7. Best case- Tyrod is back and continues what he started at the end of the year with a healthy Watkins, McCoy, Clay and first round pick Mike Williams, Gilmore resigned, we draft Budda Baker to play S in the second rd., and we get a DC who is able to get us back to respectability against the run and keep people out of the EZ Worst case- Tyrod leaves and makes the playoffs, Gilmore leaves, Kyle retires, and the new coach is unable to improve our defensive perfomance, meanwhile the offense collapses with another Sammy injury
  8. Free advice. Being a Bills fan is making you miserable, find another team. You come here day after day and are beyond negative. Don't do anyone any favors and stay a Bills fan.
  9. Absolutely, total group think. Sit around and convince each other of the same thing and toe the party line. This guy seems to be a little different, he gets it. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/1/4/14165622/nfl-head-coach-openings-bills-where-does-buffalo-rank
  10. I have no problem with taking the organization to task when they deserve it. I've done it myself. But, it cuts both ways, you should give credit when it is due. This is entertainment and I assume many others come on here for info and a little lively debate. Sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong. What I can't understand is the same crew that comes on day after day, month after month, and are beyond negative about everything Buffalo Bills. News flash: It's making you miserable to be a supposed Bills fan. You should find something you enjoy to do.
  11. Group think is what the media engage in. No original thinking and pure laziness, just go along with crowd.
  12. The Howard Hughes shot was unnecessary and shows bias. The level of group think engaged in by the football media is pathetic. Do they ever have an original thought?
  13. Then leave , you add nothing, and your sense is not my sense or a lot of other peoples. You are not right just because you think you are. Many on here tried to keep and open mind with respect to Rex and Tyrod. Some, like you, wouldn't know an open mind if it hit you between the eyes.
  14. If I hear the word polished, in relation to a leader or ability to speak at a press conference, and them being the most important things to some people, I think I will scream!
  15. No kidding. I would like to know what the heck is going on with the coaching search.
  16. I believe we will be in the market for top safeties during the Draft. And, with Adams, Hooker , Baker we should be able to come up with one. After that, I'd love Mike Williams or Corey Davis.
  17. The media tries to create "noise", it is what gets attention. It has always probably been the case, but it is also trending towards more and more noise. That doesn't make it right or wrong. It is what it is. The problem for us, as consumers, is finding our way through that noise. Unfortunately, people have a tendency to hear things, and it confirms either their preconceived notions or opinions.
  18. I can't see it at work. Does Kelly like Tyrod and think we bring him back? Anybody?
  19. Don't know Mike Smith all that well. Does he have the ability to hold these guys accountable? Including his coordinators.
  20. He must have had a falling out with Frank. Good point!
  21. No, because it is factually wrong. But hey opinions are like A-holes everyone has one, some are just not correct.
  22. Cmp%/Td:int/QBR/Ypa/ Taylor 63%/37:12/95/7.5 Orton/Manuel 62%/29:19/83/6.6 Not including his running. Don't let facts get in the way though.
