Defense and Playoffs
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It can be reasonably argued that of the Bills 8 losses, at least 6 and perhaps 7 were because of inferior performance by the defense. It blows my mind that there are those who believe games like the Miami games were not on the defense. Defense wins championships is said for a reason. Teams have won titles with far worse offenses than we had this year. -
Has Tyrod Progressed In 2 Years
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he has progressed, not only as evidenced by the videos. My eyes tell me he has been hitting middle of the field throws more. He protects the ball better than ever. Don't forget he now finally has his whole core of playmakers back. It could be reasonable argued that our offense played well enough to win at least 10 games with adequate defense/ST. The Bills lost games this year scoring 31,31,25,25,24. And, gaining 589,425, 393, 382 and 376 yards. and having 30,30, 25, 25,24 First downs. He is good and will get be better if we stick with him. It would be crazy to not keep him and replace him with the crap available. I'm not saying he is Brady or Rodgers, but he is good enough to accomplish alot with. -
Oh come on man! Jesus I could go on and put links from players saying that. I have other stuff in my life. Never said I polled everyone. It's not made up in spite of your patrionizing assertions. BTW, what have you added other than sticking your nose in a discussion you weren't involved in and trying to be the police.

I never hear the Tyrod haters offer a solution for replacing him. It's just a rookie or somebody else....... at best. Usually it is just get rid of him. If you want him replaced, a rookie is not going to improve on the number 7 scoring offense. And, that somebody else? Romo? expensive and will cost draft picks, and is brittle and old. Hoyer? Kapernick? Who? If this team had been competently coached we'd be in the playoffs. Andy Reid would have had this team in the playoffs. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. He is very classy and has conducted himself as a gentleman and leader since day 1. This stuff is just revisionist history.

New Chenelly Tweet - Coughlin an option
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Whaley was conducting the coach search, does anyone really think if this is true he will hire Coughlin? It could be, but I'm not feeling it. -
I think it is defined at many levels within the team. Starting with the coach, and filtering through his assistants, and his players feeling accountable to each other. This all starts at an individual level and over time if done successfully, a culture of accountability is created. If you are fortunate enough to get to the culture level it is somewhat easier. The NE Pats have this culture after many years. The HC doesn't have to act as a policeman. The players have a standard and it is adhered to or else you don't fit. The organization has credibility and people within the org. trust that what they are doing is worth it.

UNC QB Mitch Trubisky
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
t Thanks for the response. After watching him, I find him tough to evaluate. He checks many boxes, something worries me though. -

Why didn't he start the last 2 years? That makes me wonder. I'll be curious what his Wonderlic score is. It's been said on this board you need to be in the high 20s or better to be successful in this ERA. -
This point is a great one, and not talked about enough.

He's a toolsy type QB for sure. Only a one year starter though. -
Another LaCanfora rumour RE: Tyrod
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I think we all wonder, well maybe not all, what we could get with a healthy Watkins. Bringing Taylor back is a must, and that does NOT mean we shouldn't draft a QB if it presents itself. -

We will have to agree to disagree I guess. I think our offense is much better(Watkins all season) than the defense/ST, which I rank in the 20s. It would have been nice to have some turnovers from the defense, likewise the offense didn't put the D in bad spots with turnovers. -
Good point. Can't argue with the logic! Therefore you will have lots of arguments on this board.

D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say he is good enough to put a team that has an average defense and special teams into the playoffs right now. Of course, he hasn't played with Watkins all year either, and I don't disregard that lightly. He is better than his passing stats. -

Another LaCanfora rumour RE: Tyrod

Huh??? and you know this because, he's only won 8 in less than a full season. Totally disagree with this, with better D/ST, this team would be a dangerous playoff opponent.
