An observation on Josh Allen's three picks
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah! The Zay Jones problem, the receiver who has a viable catch area of about 6-12". If the ball is anywhere outside of this area then he is able to make it look like a horribly inaccurate throw has been made and not his fault. He continues to run away and make it look like he was badly underthrown. If the ball is out front of him in the end zone he will slow up and make it look like he was lead by a horribly inaccurate throw. If all else fail then you drop the ball, and by any means fall to the ground and make it look like you were attempting an outstanding catch on a horribly inaccurate throw by the QB. Whatever you do never ever make the QB look good! -
Its his third year, a starting receiver has ample time to improve by this point. And he hasn't...we overdrafted him!

The Pick Play That Got Gordon Open
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was a moving pick, the guy made no attempt to run a route and just kept moving towards the defender. The Pats get away with it because it puts the defender in a box, do I run over the guy and hope they call it or do I try to run around it? Moving pick, and the league seem to rely on contact being made. -
Nope, not at all. I expected this to happen with him. He'll be fine because he has what it takes. Why does no one point out that there is another way of looking at the game? We should have won yesterday, and it took alot of things going against us for the Pats to win. Just think about that for a second, we outfirstdowned them, outgained them, were on our way to winning when Josh got hurt after adjusting at halftime etc......... And, it took 4 turnovers for the Pats to win. I think its safe to say this team is on the right track if Allen can stay healthy.

Al Riveron is a huge problem for the NFL
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this, some will point to how much money they've made blah, blah, blah......fact of the matter is the game will die eventually at the rate it is not being taken up, or should I say down at the lower levels. Calls like yesterday's and the lack of league response to the hit, while claiming to be interested in safety, just further alienate many to a league that doesn't get it. And, who is the leader? Goodell. I heard guys on the NFL network, Tony Dungy, Mike Golic today and they all think it was fine. Reminds me of the old guard in hockey saying you have to have fighting. In this case, if the aforementioned players are listened too and nothing is done the league will not be around eventually. -
Will offense operate better with Barkley next week?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haven't read the whole thread, but Barkley is a back up for a reason, it's called talent and Josh has it. I think Barkley is good enough with this team to go 1-1 over a couple weeks. I don't like him against this team this week. We need Josh Allen to play and develop over the long haul or we're in trouble. -

Make the trade for Stephon Diggs

A healthy Foster, or Duke Williams or McKenzie is worth a try. Get that guy off the field. -
Josh Allen Failed His First Big Test

Thank you somebody finally said it! -
The sad thing is it completely impacted the outcome of the game. With all the intercepts, penalties, bad calls, McD bad challenge etc. we had the ball on the NE 40 yard line. We were dominating the second half, should have been 15 yards added so we have the ball inside the 30. Also, Barkley had other chances with good field position, I gotta feel Josh would have pushed one over the line in the fourth quarter!

You're on a roll today! Agree

They then shifted over to the right and had a 5-3 (outnumbered). Looked like something they got from watching tape, how we'd react. Our ST staff got smacked.

Agreed! excellent post. I would add that Croft in and Smith out would help.
