The sad thing about this statement is how many on this thread have basically said the same thing. Have any of you “Josh is the second coming “ types actually watched this team the last few years. We can’t win games solely based on Josh being Josh. We actually lose games. Josh NEEDS a team that has other stars on it if we are going to win it all….. difference makers. We have Cooke and Kincaid. They are both very good, possibly great if things break right, but they are not enough. Who are the difference makers on D? Douglas is my only one. Josh has single handedly made a bunch of OCs and a certain HC look better than they are. Snap out of it folks. We need difference makers, on the field and in the coaching ranks. We don’t have them. Josh got 72 yds and 2TDs. This was Belicheat ball 101. Control the clock KNOWING you’re the better team. Hit your shots when you get them and let the other team beat itself…… again. And we did, while hanging it all on Josh ( and some on here blaming him for the loss) Of course we aren’t getting to the Super Bowl this year. Give Josh any one boundary receiver of your choice and we still aren’t making the Super Bowl. This coaching staff did what, over the last four years, to make anyone think otherwise? They get your hopes up, play good teams well, lose absolute dreck games to teams they have zero excuses to lose to and crap out in the playoffs. Remember how we came out of the gates last year? BB’s defense were often MONEY when it counted. McD’s usually aren’t even pocket change. I’ll worry about his Offensive prowess after he demonstrates some of the Defensive variety in the playoffs. Which , I’m guessing, is never.

IF Cooke suddenly developed above average hands, he would be it. My hope is he spends the off season working with whatever “ Catching guru” there is to figure it out. Also, adding some route running work to it and dude is a Superstar.

Careful about criticizing their leaders!! That doesn’t go well here😂 I think Beane has done an above average job and is a solid GM. I don’t think he’s stellar though. My biggest complaint is having allowed McD to dictate so many D pickups . Some will jump on this and ask “ Where’s the proof?” But it seems too obvious the onus that has been put on building out the D from the get go. Von Miller was a semi trash signing at the time and in hindsight a disaster. A multi generational talent at QB and he has been given sub par o lines and sub par rushing help. The Diggs signing was brilliant but that opportunity/window was squandered. Beane needs to use all his picks and hit of a few Receivers and a safety this draft. He doesn’t need to give away multiple firsts and more for a single receiver, not in a draft this deep at the position with all the needs we have.

I agree. But, what is being brought in behind them is an unknown and represents a re tooling, not just physically but also chemistry-wise( leadership-wise). Ergo, that window closed and we are back in a building mode, maybe not square one but we are squarely out of the Favorites category. The only reason we are near the top… Josh. The same reason this regime has gotten anywhere. The ultimate cover for mediocre coaching. My point is, the ultimate leader keeps trying to place blame on others when the buck should ultimately fall at his feet. I’ve seen enough to realize the only way we win it all is to fluke our way into it. Should that suck? NOPE!!!! But, that Isn’t a plan. That’s hope and wishful thinking. Taking Josh or Mahomes out of the equation, if they had any other QB , what would your percentage be? My LAMP, my direction. I went through 17 years of not talking about the playoffs. Getting there is not good enough unless you like always being the bridesmaid.

Unless your D consistently fails in dramatic fashion almost every playoff. I feel he should get credit for the Baltimore game but then I think I should consider : It was Lamar AND a single game preserving/changing play by a DB that was amazing and somewhat improbable at the same time. Josh played PERFECT ball two years ago, historically perfect and what did it get us? Last game, he played out of his mind and a bunch on here were trying to blame the loss on him. WTAF?
