  1. this is not new or surprising, but thanks for posting
  2. That’s understandable. I’ve been saying this for quite a long time: Allen needs to be held accountable for disregarding directives from his coaches. Reckless plays like that one should have repercussions. Sitting Allen for a series or two in response to actions like that would hurt the team in the moment, but if it changed his behavior it would be better for everyone in the long run. It should be simple: If he doesn’t listen to his coaches, then he will hurt the team by getting benched. It’s better than him hurting the team by getting injured or having more games like Monday. The problem is that we don’t have coaches that will do something like this.
  3. In no particular order: Ravens - Bengals Chefs - Jags Dolphins - Pats 49ers - Rams (shanny vs mcveigh) Browns - Steelers 6 NFL games total. TG I can watch most of them in condensed format.
  4. To anyone who watched the OL closely: was Torrence and Morse typically doubling Williams? I assumed that would be the case going into the game. I also expected McGovern to have a tough time with Jefferson since that would mean he’s the one on one with him most of the time. edited to add: I was going to look for this on the all 22, but I don’t think I can stomach it.
  5. He wasn’t the only option for addressing competition at RT. I never said he was my preferred option. He’s just the kind of option left now.
  6. I disagree. There’s nothing borderline about his delusion.
  7. Just because QB was the biggest problem on the field Monday night doesn’t mean that RT wasn’t also a problem. Or that RT hasn’t been a problem for quite some time.
  8. Interesting narrative. It’s not remotely close to reality, but there are probably some fanboys you can sell it to.
  9. Funny. I just made that point in a different thread.
  10. Most people would refer to what Orlovsky is talking about as ”being a professional”. GTFO of here with the high school “fun” bs.
  11. The problem is that I don’t know that we have a third LB I’d want on the field.
  12. I’d guess that he didn’t realize it until it was too late. Beyond that I have no idea how much is on the players versus him. I’d think more on the players unless they were coached to line up incorrectly (which is not likely).
  13. I’ve got $1000 that says James Cook could break a Sam Martin tackle.
  14. Please do not jinx this.
  15. Regarding point 1, you mean they took Tauron Johnson off the field and put Rapp on? They would be a true Big Nickel package. That’s better than a standard Nickel, but still light going against 13 personnel. So I agree, a base 4-3 would be as light as I’d want to see.
  16. I will feel better when I see that things got fixed. Also I disagree that is was some great test. It wasn’t. It was relatively easy to win this game with Rodgers out and Zach Wilson in. All it would have taken was Allen just playing smart and taking what the Jets defense gave him. We’d have won easily, if unspectacularly. It would have been a boring, low scoring game with few highlight plays. And the Jets would not have had a chance to win it.
  17. The regular season is about a tacking Ws and getting the team where it needs to be for a SB run in the playoffs. Hopefully they start doing both very soon.
  18. Well, the Raiders are trash so we will likely beat them and that might make some people feel better.
  19. Legit thought this was a political post. I was thinking “Yikes! Not the day for that!”
  20. People are arguing the impact of penalties on this game? SMDH Anyone notice the head shot on Zach Wilson that didn’t get called and would have extended a drive? I didn’t think so. With very rare exception (Saints), it’s ridiculous. It’s a loser’s mentality.
  21. He’s trying to be the hero in a win rather than just trying to win. He’s taking unnecessary risks to make highlight reel plays rather than focusing on making the correct/smart plays. He is hurdling defenders on first down, throwing deep into coverage and bailing on clean pockets instead of sliding, making safe underneath throws and getting the ball out on time to shorter patterns. Then, when that hasn’t worked, he finally panics and fumbles, throws a pick or just plain misfires on his throws. What a freaking waste.
  22. That’s the issue here. What we need is a coach with the brass to ****ing bench him. One that gives him specific instructions and then sits him when he ignores them. Allen has to understand that he will hurt the team and himself by ignoring the coaches’ directives. The real issues are that they didn’t nip it in the bud a year ago and that the OC is his bro and second fiddle to him. Daboll would not have stood for it, but what’s Dorsey going to do? So now it’s on McDermott to handle it, but he won’t. He doesn’t have the brass for it and he’s off with his head in the sand coordinating the defense anyway.
  23. Awhile back I heard an interview with a former GM. He was talking about going to the SB and how going in they thought they had it won. Their focus was on their QB having a spectacular day and being elevated among his peers. They took their eyes off the ball and it cost them a championship. Obviously they only realized what they did after the fact, not at the time. I get the same feel here with Allen. It isn’t enough just to win, but he feels he has to ball out every game with big numbers and highlight reel plays. That pressing and extra pressure results in what we’ve seen. I do not think it’s the play calling or other players either. This is on him. The exception on the coaching side is that they have not held him accountable. For that McDermott and Dorsey are culpable.
  24. Good point. That penalty was uncharacteristically stupid of Milano.
