I was watching that game through DirecTV streaming, so my feed was maybe 20-30 seconds behind. I had another TV hooked up watching another game on regular TV. Just before the play happened, I glanced at the other TV and saw the score 10-9 on the ticker. I thought to myself, that has to be a mistake. Absolutely brutal.

Sorry, but this is some ignorant thinking. You're looking at football like a huge fan who pays attention to all of the little things, versus a fair weather soccer fan who doesn't know much about the game or doesn't care much. It's ignorant, because there are plenty of soccer fans who pay attention to the little things and want to see every second of the game, just like there are people who just kind of like football and only want to see the big plays or TDs.

20% of EJ's throws to his number 1 receiver were not completions because of Stevie. That doesn't really sound like a number 1 guy to me. Hard to have a lot of confidence when your guy is dropping every 5th pass.

I think he works for bleacher report. It was a. Very good interview. He had high praise for the Sammy pick and the offensive line draft picks. He talked about Richardson maybe needing some time due to more basic coaching at Baylor, but could be a solid starter later. He's also very high on Robert woods, Kouandjio, and definitely Sammy. He also had good things to say about Nate Hackett. He definitely knows his stuff. Worth a listen.

Good find with the website. I've got a Lee Evans, Lynch, and now Stevie jersey that are just sitting in the closet. The Lynch one is a little old, but I might have to look into putting Williams on there.

Minus the hiccup his sophomore year, Sammy's been in the straight and narrow. Looks like he has great parents that raised him right. I like how they said they didn't try to hide him from what was going on. That had to be tough as parents, but it was the right thing to do. His game is amazing and he sounds like a great kid. I can't wait to see him break his first long TD at the Ralph.

I think some others have mentioned, but Sammy already said he probably won't pick a number in the 80's. I'm hoping for 16. That was always my number in baseball. If he goes for 16, I might buy a jersey, since they just traded away the player of the last jersey I bought, stevie.

Good interview, it's nice they'll have the DB coach back. He helped McKelvin turn the corner when almost everyone had given up on him. Let's hope we see improvement from a few other guys this year. Does anyone remember if he interviewed with Pettine or was offered a job in Cleveland? Henderson seems very highly regarded by players and coaches. If he chose to stay in Buffalo versus following Pettine, it would be interesting to hear his explanation of why he stayed.

I quit reading after this statement. So horribly wrong and disrespectful. The only time I can remember anyone claiming Mr. Wilson was out of touch was when he was 1 of 2 owners who voted against the CBA. Well, anyone who pays any attention knows how that turned out. I've watched a ton of videos and read a lot of peoples reactions to Ralph's passing. He is described as humble by almost everyone and a very caring person who took it upon himself to know everyone in the organization and make the Bills a family. It's pathetic what gets passed as journalism these days.

I'm having trouble finding where I read it, but I know they are adding some. I think somewhere between 25% to 35% more bathrooms.

Very good listen. Any bashing of the Williams signing usually points to the pff ranking. I'd rather hear the opinion of someone who's actually scouted nfl players. Gabriel also had good things to say about graham. He will be a very good special teams player, but could also push for time at corner. It'll be interesting to see who plays the nickel role between robey and graham or if graham could even push mckelvin.

I'd be more than happy if he left the pats and went somewhere else. If he came here, can you imagine Darues - Kyle - Wilfork - Mario as a front 4 on running downs? That would be a stout front 4.

Everyone seems to be forgetting about Urbik. He got cut by a team with a bad O-line and certainly has helped the Bills. There's a good chance Chris Williams doesn't work out, but you can't find out without trying.

This is the biggest reason this doesn't worry me as much. John Murphy had the Ravens play-by-play announcer on his show (Link below) and they talked about Hostler. Sandusky (Not that Sandusky, the Ravens play-by-play announcer) said that Hostler had 2 great qualities, evaluating talent and teaching technique. Sandusky said they went to Torrey Smith's first practice and they immediately thought he could bust because he was fast but ran poor routes and didn't have great ball skills. Smith may not be one of the best receivers in the league, but he's very good thanks in part to Hostler. I don't believe Hostler's role is specifically with the WR's, but you have to imagine that's one part he'll keep a close eye on. I'm almost positive that Marrone had Pettine at the top of the list and he brought up in the interview process that he wanted to interview Pettine as soon as he was announced as HC. I can't find the article and I can't listen to his interviews right now, but I'm pretty sure Pettine was Marrone's guy. I'll keep looking when I get a chance. I don't blame Pettine for what he did, that doesn't mean I'm not a little bitter still. The Schwartz hire definitely helps, but I was excited to see the defense after a year in the system. Schwartz has had solid defenses against the run, which people will discount, but anyone that's watched the Bills the last 5 years know they desperately need to be better against the run, regardless of the direction of the league. I wonder how much of an influence Marrone will have on the defense. He says it all the time that they want to be an aggressive defense.

I believe it's been reported he was close to the DC job a time or two. Considering the bills didn't hire him for the DC job, I'm not too worried about that. I don't think he'd stick around so long under belichick if he wasn't a very solid coach. Maybe he's not as good at the X's and O's, but is strong at fundamentals and getting guys to win their 1 on 1 match ups. That's what the bills need more than anything from pepper. My buddy is a big pats fan. He was complaining about pepper leaving when it first happened. He understands why he left, but is concerned about pepper and other coaches leaving. He sent me a text 5 minutes after I saw the announcement on here. He's not thrilled.

That's a good point. I'm not sure EJ trusts his receivers or reads enough yet to make some of those throws. Boldin is a stud at those type of catches, someone like that would be a nice addition to the WR group. I think Woods and Stevie have the skills to make those catches, it's a matter of EJ building enough confidence to make those throws and trust his guys will come down with it. There were times I'd wished EJ would just pull the trigger on more down field throws and hope he will learn to do so. The great QB's take what the defense gives them and takes calculated risks down the field. I hope that's something EJ will learn to do and I don't see why he can't.

I love when people make this argument. How often do you think other QB's make these "throw the reciever open" throws? I would wager it's somewhere between 5-10% for the average QB, maybe a little higher for elite guys. What is the point of the QB position and why do you think QB's make checks at the line? They're supposed to find the open reciever and they make checks to exploit the defense and get recievers OPEN. Are you watching the AFC championship game? Payton's checked down half the time, thrown to OPEN recievers running crossing routes, and thrown it down field maybe 5 times. Even those down the field throws are slants, which EJ has shown he can throw. Yeah, EJ has work to do and definitely left some throws on the field. Pretending other QB's throw these "NFL" passes even a 3rd of the time is ridiculous. EJ showed game 1 that he has the capability. His throw the Chandler with a LB coming right at him before Chandler made his cut and the perfect TD throw to Stevie are just 2 examples. He made more, and I'll gladly give more if you give me one example of a throw Payton made his rookie year. Regarding his footwork, it's fine when he has time in the pocket. When he feels pressure, it breaks down and it gets sloppy. That's something he needs to improve on.

That's a great point and one that I bet is lost on a lot of people. EJ isn't going to get it over night, but the amount of improvement he's shown, even with the amount of time missed, is very encouraging.

In regards to EJ not throwing to the middle of the field, part of it could easily be what the defense is giving him. When teams are putting 8 in the box, it jams up the middle of the field. Outside of the numbers is where space is. Wait, so QB's aren't supposed to immediately look at or throw to their first read? I'll refer to Marrone's comment people posted above about EJ going through his progressions. He's obviously got a lot of room to grow, which is very encouraging. More encouraging is growth through the season. He was blasted for missing deep balls and not showing great accuracy on short throws, he did both on Sunday. He's looked uncomfortable in the pocket and has been quick to check down at times. Against the Jets, he looked a lot more comfortable in the pocket and scanned the field longer. That was something Marrone said he needed to work on and he's already improved. Only 1 throw was really "bad" IMO on sunday and that was the hitch that Cromartie almost took back for 6. He missed Chandler on a crossing route that he threw a little too far out in front. I don't remember another throw that made me cringe or nervous.

I'll add my 2 cents about the first TD. It was a risky pass for sure, but the reward was much greater than the risk. It was 3rd and 12 from the jets 34. As you guys have said, it was against the wind, so you know Marrone was going to punt if it was an incomplete pass. EJ was about to get sacked, so it was absolutely going to be a punt if EJ goes down. Worst case scenario is one of the DB's makes a play on the ball, picks it off and is able to run for a big return. The more likely scenario is a DB picks it off and is tackled at the 6, similar to a very good punt. EJ took some chances, something people have been criticizing him about not doing. It was a calculated risk with a high reward and I liked it, well loved it since it was a TD.

If the Bills waive Tuel in an attempt to put him on the PS and the Pats claim him, they have to sign him to the active roster. They can't put him on their PS without first waiving him again. I don't think that's common practice to sign someone off another team's PS just to pick their brain. Otherwise they could just snag a WR or someone else off of the Bills PS, no need to wait for someone to get waived.

If the penalty really was on Kiko, it was a terrible call. Yes, you can't just hit people on the other side of the play, but the ball was still in Tannehill's hand. Kiko basically jammed the TE inside of 5 yards, which is legal.

And a healthy Byrd, Gilmore, and McKelvin might have made it an easier game. No reason to downplay a win because of injuries. Every team has injuries.
