  1. You need a good pass rush and good CB play to defend the pass successfully. Most QBs could run 3 and 5 step drops and hit their first or second target if you have poor coverage from your CBs. The pass rush isn't getting to the QB in those situations. I like the Darby pick. Can't have too many CBs, some of the starters are getting up there in age and there isn't a lot of proven young talent.
  2. That scouting video has me pretty excited. They've brought in huge guys that struggle to bend their knees and end up lunging and missing guys. Miller apparently does a good job of bending his knees, getting low, and generating power with his hips. From the clip he looks pretty quick and gets on his blocks well. Maybe not right away, but with some strength training and practice, it sounds like he could be a very good lineman.
  3. Jerry Sullivan @TBNSully A pause from vacation to reiterate my position of early June: The Bills should have cut Marcell Dareus as soon as his car hit the tree. https://twitter.com/TBNSully/status/491260600232587264 That says it all IMO.
  4. Talk about exaggerating a situation. In no way did he "freak out." He got annoyed because he wasn't prepared because he was being asked questions they didn't prepare for. Kind of funny, but he didn't lose it, freak out, or anything like that.
  5. Yeah, you're right. Giving up one catch on eight throws in a half and then not being tested the second half by a HOF QB is pretty good. Give me a break, the man had two fantastic games against HOF QB's, and you give him a, "it was pretty good." I wish you could stand in front of the secondary and Donnie Henderson and tell them your thoughts. They'd laugh so hard they'd probably pee their pants.
  6. The man-love was because he was/is physically more gifted than Sammy Watkins and if he got his head on straight, he could have been a nice receiver. This is why when people say stuff like, Clay isn't worth the money, we have Gray and Gragg who are the same size and can do the same thing, it drives me crazy. There are a lot of guys with great measurables that don't pan out for whatever reason.
  7. Soccer hate is funny to me. My favorite comment is "I'd rather watch the most boring NFL game than the most exciting soccer game." I admittedly wasn't a huge soccer fan but now that the EPL is on TV quite often, I've been watching more and more. Sure, watching bad teams play isn't always exciting, but watch Arsenal vs Liverpool and it's exciting as hell. All that said, I am a sports junkie and I'll watch just about anything besides bowling. The EPL is on at that perfect time on Saturday and Sunday mornings when no other live sports are on. It's a great way to start nursing the hangover.
  8. That's true, part of it might be the contract. IMO, he's shown enough that I believe that even if it wasn't a contract year, he'd have come in in good condition. Implying that money is the only reason he's been working out is what I don't believe.
  9. I think the whole "contract year" is insulting to Glenn. Last year he had an illness that didn't allow him to practice and stay in shape. It clearly hurt his performance. Before last year, when he physically couldn't train, did he have any other issues with being out of shape or not preparing? I don't recall any issues from when he was drafted to now. He's working out and came in to camp in shape because that's the type of player/person he is, not because he's in a contract year.
  10. That wasn't too bad. Decent form, nice leg kick, and got it to the catcher. Waaaaay better than Jim Jefferies. Ironically, he made an episode about it for his show Legit, which is fantastic by the way. If anyone here is a fan of Always Sunny, Archer, Arrested Development, etc., I think you'd really like Legit. https://youtu.be/PoWNGKxlzT8?t=21
  11. You forget so quickly how Kouandjio, the 2nd round pick last year, didn't start or really play at all. Sure, you'd like you top couple of picks to start each year, but it doesn't make or break a draft class if they don't start. EJ was a first round pick and almost everyone agrees nothing but good could come from him sitting a year or two. I am not at all against drafting a QB in the 2nd, but there's absolutely no reason thy have to start next year. Forcing a young QB into a starting role is a poor decision in my opinion.
  12. As a 6th round pick, tyrod Taylor started his rookie year as the lone backup to joe flacco. Although he didn't really play any important snaps in 4 years with the ravens, he was the backup QB to flacco all 4 years. The ravens are one of those organizations that if a player is able to stick as the lone backup QB, I have to believe that player has a certain amount of talent and intelligence. I don't recall the contract situation between Taylor and the ravens and I don't expect him to start and lead buffalo to the Super Bowl, but he is certainly an interesting prospect. I can't imagine the ravens keeping a 6th round pick around for 4 years if he didn't show something and improve each year.
  13. I'm hoping the same. The fact is wood was at least an adaquate starter and Glenn was solid before the previous regime showed up. Both of their play declined, whether it be coaching or scheme, I don't know. Regardless, Aaron Kromer has a very good history of putting together good lines and I'm hoping these guys bounce back. I haven't heard much about Richardson this offseason, but Kouandjio is working his ass off. Henderson obviously has some talent or he wouldn't have started. I'm really hoping they develope one or two of these guys. I can't believe people are so quick to give up on these guys. There are countless examples of guys taking a couple of years to look like they belong. Mckelvin, bradham, Hughes, and hogan are all such players.
  14. I still have hope for EJ, but I don't think cassel starting would be a bad thing. Let ej learn the offense for a year and let the front office improve the offensive line. The youth of the skill positions is awesome. McCoy is looked at as over the hill by pessimists and he's got 3 full years to play before he's 30. I hope Roman earns his paycheck because I really think he and Aaron Kromer are the most important pieces of the puzzle at this point.
  15. A lot of people want him cut but seem to forget he won the starting job before getting hurt last year. Maybe try to get him to take a pay cut, but I'm not ready to just cut him.
  16. Same here. Both are solid signings. Easley is a beast on special teams. He has a knack for flying down field and making big hits. I think Wynn provides decent depth at DE. I wouldn't mind a pass rusher in the 3rd or 4th round though.
  17. This is what has me sold. Well, that and dolphin fans getting upset he might be leaving. Let's all be honest, Chandler has little versatility. He's not making any of the plays shown in the video of Top 100 players that Clay made. He does a few things well and is a decent blocker. IMO, he'd be a great #2 TE. Then let Gray and Gragg battle out the number 3 spot with the 4th guy playing special teams, stashed deep in the roster, or cut.
  18. Kinda like Harbaugh? I wouldn't be shocked. I'm pumped to see what they do with the O-line and FB positions. I'm hoping Kromer has a better eye for talent than Marrone and Pat Morris did and I think it's safe to hope that. I want to see McCoy with holes to run through and break some big ones.
  19. I think we did too, but not a big one. He said he told his agent at the end of the year he wanted to stay in Buffalo. Either way, he got pain and the Bills got a great player. I was watching that and getting damn excited for the year. He told John Murphy that he wants to work even harder now. Hughes talked a lot about the work ethic of all the guys that are here and how much they want to win. It's giving me goose bumps just typing about it. One of my favorite moments from last year was after the safety against the Packers that sealed the game. I think it was Mario and Kyle who bear hugged and were jumping up and down like a couple of school girls that hadn't seen each other in a year. These guys seem to really be invested in each other and the Bills.
  20. That's really interesting. The media seems to be giving Chip the benefit of the doubt on all his moves. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. If I were an Eagles fan though, I'd be a little weary about what's happening. I can't wait until this is official and we get to hear him talk about the process and everything.
  21. Ahh, valid point. Hopefully EJ outplays him and we don't have to worry about seeing Cassel on the field. Between EJ learning how to be more of a leader through Orton and hopefully not being as passive with his throws, maybe we see a new man back there.
  22. I don't agree about your opinion on ortons decision making. I saw more than a handful of times receivers open and Orton missing them. Combine that with his poor accuracy and he was a below average qb. Why do you think Sammy and the coaches said Watkins should have out up better numbers? I don't mean to say cassel is a better qb, but it's worth a try I guess and I'm certainly happy Orton retired.
  23. If he goes to the Jets, it's going to be interesting. Possibly a Bills reunion with him, Chan, and CJ. I wouldn't be shocked, although they just traded for Marshall.
  24. That first emoji should have dollar signs instead of hearts. Great to see the whole family is happy. Great, great day.
