This note from when he was suspended; "Acording to Spotrac, Smith could forfeit $390,423 due to this suspension, a number which includes money from his base salary, signing bonus and game active bonus. The Bills could free up $1.1 million in cap space if he is released. " The Bills will now save his remaining 11 game checks which I think is the app. $690,000. Does that sound right?
-
No. Smith wasn't on the active roster
-
I think his salary for the entire season is 690,000. Pro-rated for the remaining 11 games saves about 450,000. Maybe they sign him to the practice squad.

Let's be judicious in the use of words like "all time", "great" etc.

Hamlin and Johnson are fine. Why make TWO moves, with somebody replacing Taron in the slot?

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Win in Kansas City, 24-20
Simon Says replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder if McKenzie still feeling the effects of that hit last week? He looked lost. Moss was inactive; Cook got a couple touches and I was happy to see Singletary pile up some yards. Josh and Dorsey seem to like Gilliam's versatility. Didn't Siran have a couple penalties? I did like using him as a bigger, hybrid S/CB on Kelce. This win was a confidence booster and after the bye we should see Tre and others looking healthy. -
The Bills have owned TEs this season. Now comes Kelce.

The addition of Miller allows the Bills to rush just 4 defenders. That leaves more coverage on Kelce -
Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
Simon Says replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
But not guaranteed ? -
Im no engineer. But, what if there were some sort of sensor/target in the ball...with a laser "tracking system " rather than chips in the ball that send a signal.

The NFL has been to talking to potential vendors for 10,12 years or more.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
Simon Says replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would not trade a 1st for a RB and wouldn't mind adding McCaffery for this year ,at that low salary. I would even be OK with keeping Moss for depth and cutting Taiwan Jones . My preference would be an upgrade on the OLine, maybe another weapon at WR or TE. -
With the way Elam and Benford developed,White won't have to "Play every snap ".

Micah Hyde has successful surgery 6-9 month recovery
Simon Says replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont know exactly where the doctor thinks Hyde will be in 6 to 9 months. Ready to practice? Will be be able and willing to play again? Hope the Bills win the Super Bowl and their safety tandem might not return,if they do. -

"Has to"? No,he doesn't. He can retire whenever he wants. -
I won't believe any of the OBJ or CMC rumors until something actually happens. Both are talented but injury prone. At least McCaffery has been playing this year. I dont see how Bills could afford either of them. If Beane makes a move I would like to see OLine help.
-
And 11.8 million next year? This report has been refuted, so we don't know what is true.
-
Give Taiwan an assist on the play
-
And 11.8 million next year?
-
Im not comfortable trading a #1 for an expensive RB with that injury history. No,you want running backs on their cheap rookie contracts
-
And 11.8 next year. No thanks. The Bills have 4 backs making that between them. Its not gonna happen. Allen's cap hit is huge next year and they have to discuss Edmunds,Poyer...
-
Whose contract is left that can be re worked? Beane has done a lot already. McCaffery is not coming to Buffalo with that contract. Counting Duke Johnson, Bills have 4 healthy backs. Maybe they have been holding Cook back....
-
Again....Bills have very little cap space. Why do people think the Bills can make a significant trade?
-
This is what I would focus on. Even if Bills wait until the deadline they don't have enough cap space to acquire elite talent.
-
If Allen stays healthy, will Bills win 11 in a row?
Simon Says replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
The first 7 games on the schedule looked challenging. I still expect 1 more loss ,either to KC or GB, to be at 5-2. My preference is for the Bills to beat KC for the playoff implications. I want home field advantage! After that, pray for the injuries to stop and Beane to work some trade magic.
