Preseason TNF: Jets/skins, Pitt/GB, Eagles/Pats
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well there is a certain member of this board that was really high on Martez Carter. I wonder who that was ?? p.s. If Carter turns into a player I will never let anyone forget how early I adopted him. -

GB does have 2 1sts. They can put together a competitive offer. -
A couple questions on QB week 1 starter
Kirby Jackson replied to MTBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that’s all fair. The point I was making is that you can’t get rid of the ball in under 2 seconds if the guys aren’t open. That’s why teams will play that way against Peterman. They will take away all of the quick routes until he proves that he can make the other throws. He hasn’t done that yet. The throw to KB was a start. We will see I guess... -

I don’t know if I’m just overly optimistic but I think he’s going to end up on the Bills. -

I expect a variety of defenses against them. They are much more likely to beat press man. They are better down the field. I don’t think that either of them has a kryptonite. I mean are you disagreeing that Peterman will struggle if defended like that? -

Those are all fair questions. The irony is that’s basically why Dennison got fired. He pushed for Peterman because he thought that he was the best guy to execute his offense. It just revealed how easy that offense is to defend. Peterman made that throw to Benjamin last week for the TD. If he can consistently do he will keep the DBs honest. That was absolutely progress. I was simply pointing out that he’s much, much easier to defend than Allen (and to a lesser extent Peterman). Peterman may throw those slants more consistently but the other guys (especially Allen) can throw more routes. They make the Bills offense more diverse IMO. -

Don’t you guys expect an actual NFL defense in an actual NFL game to play press man all over the field against Nate? They will take away all quick passes (especially slants). I mean, I know basically nothing and know exactly how to defend him. If you disrupt the timing of the timing routes I don’t know how he can succeed? It isn’t complicated at all. If I am a DC he’s going to have to consistently make plays like the TD throw to Benjamin. The receivers are going to have to beat the press and Peterman is going to have to make plays over the CBs. NO ONE that has watched him is going to allow his receivers a free release. The 3 stop drop, balls out isn’t going to be a viable option. -
I always love this explanation. It was everyone letting him down. No need for excuses. It wasn’t “everyone was bad so that’s why he struggled. They sabotaged him.” This is the root of my issues with Peterman. People want to baby him and excuse him for playing terribly. It’s okay to say he was awful but has been okay otherwise. Please, please, please don’t try to justify the Chargers performance.

Week 12 vs Jags, I want Jalen Ramseys head on a spike
Kirby Jackson replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You need to calm down there Joffrey Baratheon -
Except when they actually have real pressure. Peterman is NOT good against it. He’d probably tell you that. He makes tons of mistakes against the blitz. Allen is the guy that will punish the blitz. He big, strong and mobile. He will step out of the rush and hit some big plays. McCarron is a sitting duck. He lacks the mobility of the other 2.

Nope, what he teaches is dead. I used to think recruiting was his thing. I don’t believe that anyone is hiring him. He is Lane Kiffin with a dead style. Kiffin is an idiot but will always have a job because what he does works. People will stomach his personality because the results are there. That’s no longer the case with Rex. What he used to do doesn’t work.

Anyone else having a rough week of work?
Kirby Jackson replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I appreciate it. This isn’t going to be easy. Fortunately I’m not above begging the underwriter to change his mind. It sucks because they want in a captive, wed LOVE to put them in a captive but their losses suck and no captive wants them. -

So after all of my complaining it looks like the carrier is non-renewing the auto portion. We have it out everywhere but this has always been the top option (and we may not have another). There aren’t a lot of people that are looking to write $1.4M in auto to have $1.8M in losses!! This is not a good development. Kirby may be going from away games to Ramen. 2 months to figure it all out. If you know any transportation underwriters looking to write an account with a lot of losses let your boy know. -
Jalen Ramsey trash talking a lot of QB's
Kirby Jackson replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s a great player but a jackass. That’s about all that I’ve got on Jalen Ramsey. -
Again, it is a just a matter of time. I know that I sound like a broken record but this is Allen’s team. It’s a matter of when not if. He is the highest selected QB in team history. They used a 1st and 2 2nds to trade up for him. He will be playing whenever they feel he’s ready. They are certainly trying to get a better idea by sliding him up to the 2nd unit. That was a good decision for his development. He needs to play with, and against, NFL players. If he plays this week like he did last week I would think that he’s starting sooner than later. He can just do things that very, very few QBs can do. Allen will take some lumps as a rookie (just like Wentz did) but the hope is that the lightbulb goes off (like it did for Wentz). Allen has superstar potential. I always thought that they’d go for a higher floor, lower ceiling prospect (Rosen or Mayfield) but they did the opposite.
