I’m not talking about Peterman playing this week. They didn’t have much choice. If the plan was to draft a raw QB then you had to have an option to play ahead of him. The fact that they believed Peterman was that option is negligence. They dealt McCarron believing that. Peterman has shown NOTHING in actual games to believe that he was a guy that could hold down the fort for a season or most of one. That’s not what you do with a raw rookie. That’s negligence. You get a guy with a resume to play for a while if you aren’t handing the keys to the rookie. The Bills hand was forced 1 half into the year. It’s been a disaster since the opening kickoff.

It’s a losing proposition in those cities. Pittsburgh averages a $3M deficit a year. They can swear by the economic impact of said conventions but that’s debatable. I know it’s a small sample size but the few that I am involved in each year have narrowed their destinations to drive attendance. The one goes to Vegas, New Orleans, Orlando, San Juan and Chicago. They tried San Antonio, St. Louis, and Memphis but couldn’t get the attendance that they were getting in those other places. There isn’t all of a sudden going to be a steady stream of big national conventions heading to Buffalo.

If that’s the case why in the world would they be comfortable with Peterman as the only other option? It’s chicken or egg. If the plan was “Josh needs time” then they had to have a viable option to give him time. Instead he was able to sit 1 half because of the mismanagement of the QB position. That’s not unexpected, that’s negligence.

That’s what the route combinations look like to me. The only thing is they are running out Brady, Edelman, Gronk, Gordon, White, Hogan, etc... They have guys to get open. They can consistently sustain 15 play drives. I’m not sure, with Allen’s acccuracy, that will ever be our game. For him to be successful it needs to look more like the Steelers or Lions offenses. You don’t need to make as many plays but you need to make them 15 yards down the field instead of 6. I hope Daboll understands that.

I don’t believe that they value speed enough (Brown would have been an exception). When you lack talent, as it is clear our offense was going to, you need to make some big plays. If you are going to compete you need the occasional 80 yard slant or 75 yard bomb. One big play in the Texans and Patriots game and this team may be 4-3. That was always my Goodwin argument. This team doesn’t need more guys to catch 6 yard crosses. They need a guy that can take 4 of those a year to the house. When you stink on offense, you shouldn’t be trying to put together 15 play drives. That isn’t going to ever consistently happen. The talent isn’t there. You need to hope for the occasional play of 40 plus to get you in scoring range. The Bills don’t have guys to make those plays. That is a massive indictment on the FO when they drafted the big armed QB.

First Round Draft Pick Is ...

I’m of the belief still that LG may be his best position. If they draft a LT I wouldn’t have any issue if they kicked Dawkins inside and had a strong left side (like they did with Glenn and Incognito). -
The reality is we are going to have to significantly overpay for free agent WRs. We are the least ideal situation in the NFL. As an example, how much more will we have to pay Golden Tate than the Eagles to get him to move? Trades and the draft are likely better options to find your number 1 & 2 receivers at this point. Maybe they get lucky and Pryor fills the number 2 role with Zay as the 3?

I’m not sure why people like him? Do you like that he is the worst QB to ever play for your favorite team? Do you like that he throws INTs every 8 throws? Do you like the fact that the locker room doesn’t believe in him? Do you like that he is the butt of jokes around the country? It’s fine to say, “I’ll cheer for the kid” but I’m not sure how you can be a fan. I don’t want bad players on the Bills. If he has proven anything so far it is that he is a bad player. He has been given a WAY bigger opportunity than scrubs before him. He hasn’t earned a spot on an NFL roster; he has been given one. He’s stealing a paycheck from a more deserving person because McDermott likes him.

UB-51 MIA OH-42 Bulls 8-1, AJ83 3TDs 238yds school record

I’m of the belief that Johnson goes earlier than expected (assuming he tests well). There is a large variance in the way scouting services view him. Guys with the wide spread like that almost always go earlier than expected because it only takes one team. It is kind of the Patrick Mahomes / Josh Allen theory. You don’t need to be graded highly by everyone, just someone. -

When I saw that Army had double the TD passes I was blown away. They have 68 passing attempts on the season!! -

I didn’t but we have 3!! I also include Mahomes, total TDs in the 2nd section. I didn’t have time to dive into our anemic running game. Tyrod led 2 top 10 scoring offenses, apples and oranges my friend. -
First Round Draft Pick Is ...

Shepard and/or Engram, pick 3 and a 2nd for the 1st pick. The Giants get the QB. We get Bosa or Oliver, at least one pass catcher and the 35th pick. -
First Round Draft Pick Is ...

Come draft time I always think of the old adage, “you never trade a dollar for 4 quarters.” If I have a super early pick, I’m not looking at need. I’m looking for a dollar. Bosa and Oliver jump out at me (especially Bosa). Other guys may climb into that mix but get the best player at the top of the draft. -

The Bills have 3 passing TDs: - Army has 6 - Pat Mahomes has 26 - Pat Mahomes has 6 games of at least 3 - There are 11 players that have at least 5x as many TD passes as the Bills - There are 30 players that have at least 2x as many TD passes as the Bills Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers have thrown 527 passes and have combined for 2 INTs. Nate Peterman has thrown 32 passes and has 4 INTs. The Bills have scored 7 offensive TDs: - Eric Ebron has as many TDs as the Bills - Tyree Jackson had 6 last night for UB. - 38 players (QBs included) have at least 7 TDs - Todd Gurley has scored more than 2x (15) as many TDs as the Bills - Pat Mahomes has 4x (28) as many TDs as the Bills The Bills have thrown for 1,405 yards. There are 27 guys that have thrown for more. The Bills have thrown 13 INTs in 242 pass attempts. Rodgers, Brady, Ryan, Alex Smith, Wentz, and Cousins have thrown 12 INTs in 1,584 pass attempts. I need to get ready for work so that’s all that I have at the moment. Feel free to add. I’m sure there are some great numbers concerning our receivers.
