I’m of the belief that 90% of NFL caliber coaches can accomplish what we have with prime Josh Allen. McDermott gets credit for building the culture and stabilizing the organization. He was a great guy to build the program. At this point, I’m more convinced than ever that if they are ever going to get over the hump someone else has to be the guy. I often use the Dwayne Casey and Nick Nurse example because it fits.

We are currently negative 2.5 mill in cap space for 2025
Kirby Jackson replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Basically, when you restructure contracts or release people you can change when certain dollars are allocated to the cap. For example, Josh Allen’s cap hit is scheduled to be $43.2M in 2025. When they give him his new deal that number will be WAY less. Bonuses can be spread over multiple years. When you hear, “they are converting the base salary to a signing bonus” what they are doing is writing a check to the player but spreading the cap hit over multiple years. If you convert a $40M base into a signing bonus over 4 years (for example) you take the cap hit from $40M to $10M, $10M, $10M, $10M. You kick the can down the road.- 136 replies

I’m good with it. Last year’s draft looks awful so far. You got a depth WR that’s never open and a safety that has no idea what he’s doing. The year before you got a rotational TE and the year before that a corner that can’t play. Beane has been good with the middle and back of the roster but failed at the top.

It has been all year despite what some wanted to believe. I give Mack credit. He has balls. Cooper and Shakir are both good. Kincaid sucks which is a surprise. The backs are good. Everybody eats until they don’t. Go get an alpha.

I’ve been done with McDermott for years and I’m more done now than ever. Playing not to lose vs. playing to win is a huge difference. Another year goes by of Josh Allen’s prime without reaching the Super Bowl. This is Dwayne Casey and Nick Nurse to me. it’s fine that his team is good. If they, continuously, aren’t good enough in the biggest moments, I want someone else calling the shots.

How much time have you spent thinking about this game.
Kirby Jackson replied to Stroke 17's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven’t stopped. This game/season hasn’t left my head in weeks. Usually I spend a lot of time on here or Twitter talking X’s and O’s. “If this happens then that needs to happen, etc.” That just hasn’t been the case for me over the last couple of games. There’s an eerie calm that I’m feeling. People talk about “the calm before the storm” and for those of you that have been through a hurricane, you know that feeling. I have that now but without the threat of the storm. I was just sure that the Bills were going to win last week. There wasn’t a scenario that came into my mind where they lost. That’s how I feel again this week. I don’t mean that in a dismissive or arrogant way. It’s just time. Strategy aside, this is their destiny. -

That’s your biggest fear? Mine is getting buried alive.

I think that I agree with this. It’s chaos and next-level incompetence. This move was wild. The timing of it all is beyond messy.

Have a great time my friend!! Hoping to see you in NOLA a couple of weeks later. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Comparing this game to Bengals playoff game
Kirby Jackson replied to Ga boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
That 2022 team was emotionally exhausted by that point in the year. It was just too much. This year’s team should have a giant chip on their shoulder and are healthy. This is a huge game against a team that we do not match up with well on paper. The motivation though will be there and they’ll play for Josh. If he goes Superman and wins this game, they put a lot of narratives to bed. -
Would you ever Bet Against the Bills?
Kirby Jackson replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have bet against the Bills a few times in my life. I’ve never done it in a meaningful game and have never been conflicted as to what I want for an outcome (the same goes for fantasy). The Bills winning is all that matters. The handful of times that I’ve bet against them, generally, has been when they were the favorite and I thought the spread was too big. If they give 7 and win by 4 it’s a win/win. I don’t know if I’ve bet against them since returning to the playoffs in 2017. -
He can’t come out this year. I agree though. He’s a franchise changing safety. He will be a 10+ time Pro Bowler IMO.

I love this!! That chip will be huge

It all depends on the style. Yesterday that team was a great matchup for the Bills. The Broncos strengths were man to man defense and the ability to get to the QB. Those are 2 things that the Bills have shredded all year. Denver also can’t run the ball and the Bills have been exposed against great rushing offenses. The Broncos really had no chance of winning a game by doing what they do best. If they were to have had any shot yesterday it would have been because of mistakes by the Bills. They weren’t going to win with man coverage and elite pass rush. Next week, Baltimore is a much tougher schematic matchup. They are a physical team with a great running game and good pass defense. For the Bills to win, they are going to have to get the lead and force Baltimore to throw. Lamar’s record with 30+ pass attempts is bad. They ran 15 consecutive plays at one point on Saturday. If that happens, the Bills are in trouble. If they get the lead, that won’t happen.

I feel like the Bills will play with an edge this weekend. When they’ve done that over the last 5 years, they’ve been unstoppable. I believe that the Bills come out flying next week. If they get up a couple of scores the game may never be close. If they make Baltimore have to throw a lot, it’ll be a great day for the Bills.

Broncos @ Bills - Playoff game day thread (2nd half)
Kirby Jackson replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t take the ball out of Josh Allen’s hands!!! Horrendous coaching inside the 10 -
Lol, I said, “obviously I’d vote for Josh.” The point is, “it’s perfectly reasonable for someone else to prefer Lamar. He is deserving this year.”
-
Right?!? It’s insane. It’s a bad look. Stop He is absolutely deserving with those numbers. There is no doubt that it would be warranted this year. I’d obviously vote for Josh but Lamar has a strong case.
