  1. Cuz there are no Rams fans here, and, besides, it wouldn't fit the narrative that the Buffalo Bills are the most inept franchise ever!
  2. I remember once, in the early 80's (I was about 16) being at a Buffalo Stallions game. We were sitting in the front row of the nose-bleeds (oranges!). In between the action, they used to have a mascot who would come out and kick soccer balls up into the stands...cool red and black soccer balls. The balls rarely made it all the way up to the orange section. But, as me and my buddy were talking, I remember seeing a soccer ball heading my way, in my periphrial vision...I instinctively reached over the stands and grabbed it as it was on its' downward trajectory....I didint' realize, right next to me, some little kid (probably around 10) was trying to do the same thing...for whatever reason, it felt so great to catch that ball, it didn't dawn on me for a minute or two how disappointed the kid was. Of course, I gave it to him. In retrospect, I don't think he had a chance in hell of catching it, but he wanted it so bad, he likely would have jumped off the rail to catch it! Anyway, moral of the story, karma pays you back..the kids' dad, a few rows back, purchased a beer for me, and my buddy! Underage drinking at the Aud was way better than a stupid soccer ball! Honeslty, for sure, I thought that would happen. The fact that the girl was a Bengals fan, and the player tossing it to her was a Bengal, makes it all the worse. This has been getting so much attention the last 24 hours, I suspect we haven't seen the last of this girl.
  3. Why So Serious? Why so mis-informed?
  4. We have seen this movie too many times.... I predict that the Bills lose badly to the Jets, and then lose to the Browns It is not that I think those teams are better than the Bills, just acknowledge the inevitable let down, when the Bills players let it sink in, again, their once hopeful season has slipped away. They will get their act together, somewhat, for the last 4 games. They will hang tight with the Broncos for the first haf, before losing by a healthy margin. They will play the Packers well, but, ultimately, lose a hard fought game. They will beat the Raiders, and then lose their season closer, to the Pats, and the annual "run for the bus" game in Foxboro will serve as a reminder that this team stil has a lot of work to do. 6-10 baby! It has a nice, old familiar ring to it, no?
  5. "DAMN YOU!!! Damn you all to hell..."
  6. I am not sure of all the specifics of the salary cap are, but keep in mind, the Bills new owner is not going to put the same restraints on salaries that Mr Wilson might have. I don't mean this as a "Ralph was cheap" comment, because we know he shelled out bucks for players (deserved or not) on numerous occaisions. But I don't think the Bills management (whoever it is) will have to be quite as concerned as those in the past have been. If the GM feels they really need to sign two or three of these guys, or all of them, they will find a way to make it work, provided the player wants to be there. I don't mean to say that Pegula will just make it rain for anyone who is a FA, but I just don't think money is going to be the reason they lose anyone. For instance (again, not a knock on Ralph Wilson), but I would bet (cuz there is no way to prove it! ), if Peugla had been the owner a year ago, Jarius Byrd would be listed on our IR list, rather than that of the New Orleans Saints. I think that they will re-sign Dareus and Hughes... the rest, I think, depend on who the coach and GM are. If Marrone is back, I don't think the effort would be made to bring back Spiller or Williams...Spikes is the one that confuses me the most. I have to say, I have been pretty underwhelmed by him at times (impressed at others), but it seems like the Bills are starting to develop some pretty decent LB depth. Spikes might be expendable...and he might want too much for what he offers them.
  7. The did it with "Breaking Bad", and AMC scored huge with it...so now they are doing it with pretty much all their shows. it gives them months to hype "half-season finales" and "season finale" stuff. Blu-ray/DVD/streaming releases of half seasons, rather than whole seasons, gets the die-hards to shell out a few more bucks. I don't have a problem with it for most shows..though I think it has killed a "thinker" show like "Mad Men".
  8. Well, I guess if corporations are people, she is just looking out for the "little" people!
  9. During the "Sportsscience.0" segment, Buffalo gets a mention! Chris Berman's "2 Mintue Drill" runs an average of 5 minutes and11 seconds...that is 5 minutes and 11 seconds more than anyone outside of Buffalo wants to hear Chris Berman gargle on all seven of his chins...and that painfully self unaware pudgy old man makes 3 million dollars a year...that is more than ALL-PROS Andrew Luck & Julio Jones....SCIENCE!"
  10. I just happened to catch this last night, and was going to post it...only to log on to Facebook and see it was the #1 "trending story"... the shot at Berman is pretty brutal! The video is embedded in the article... http://deadspin.com/...dium=socialflow
  11. Seems like business as usual for Texas. It gets increasingly more difficult to convince people that voting matters. Here, I thought liberals were the only ones who think they know what is best for everyone else...
  12. By and large, other than NFL Films productions, the NFL Network is close to unwatchable for me.
  13. Oh yeah, not benching Cutler yet...but just not getting a good feeling about the Bears down the stretch. I could see things getting uglier and uglier there, and I am just not sure if Cutler will use that as a reason to play "lights out" (or even "lights dimmed, but still on"), or just fall apart. His mechanics look terrible the last couple of games, and his coach is under intense scrutiny. Time to see if all the Cutler haters are right about his attitude...I just want some insurance, just in case!
  14. Sure, the television show that raised the bar for adult programming on televison, maybe the show most responsible for this current "golden age" of quality televison that people just take for granted now, is the "most overrated show ever".
  15. On their "mini-preview" of the Thursday night game, Brian Billick and Steve Marriuci both gave the Bills the edge on Thursday night. They both pointed to how much trouble the Dolphins had handling the Lions pass rush, and predicted the Bills would give them just as much trouble, if not more, given their O-line woes. For whatever reason, the Bills just match up very well with the Dolphins. I feel good about our chances!
  16. Other than the 4 attempts in the redzone at the end of the game, I think Orton has been fine with his accuracy...not perfect...but good enough. People over-react to everything here...good and bad. On those 4 attempts, I think he was making the cardinal sin (which EJ is guilty of more often than not), of throwing the ball so that it doesn't get intercepted, rather than throwing a good pass that can be caught.
  17. Thanks all...went with Cutler, got me 9 pts....somehow. What an awful performance for that entire Bears team. They played like nobody wanted to be there, from the opening drive, all the way through. I am starting to worry about Cutler. Like I said, fantasy wise, he has been pretty solid for me all season...has had two sub-par games (yesterday, and one earlier on), but that team looks so demoralized...and it is hard to tell if it is possible to light a fire under Cutlers' ass. I know he has the talent, and they have a talented offense..but man they looked awful. Orton would have got me 16 pts yesterday....I think Dalton would have got me 2 pts! Kinda worried going down the stretch. Only QB's I could really pick up who are the starter for their team are Teddy Bridgewater and Carr. Cutler is making me nervous. He was the guy I wanted going into my draft (keeping in mind that I didn't want to overdraft at the positon...a mistake I have made in the past), and I felt really lucky to get him in the 7th round....but now all the turmoil with that team, and his unpredictable personality are making me have some doubts. So, this weeks question: Carr or Bridgewater?
  18. Gotta win Thursday.... It is a long season, but it is a little over half way over. Two squandered chances (Houston, KC) give then little, if any, wiggle room down the stretch. But lets not give up hope just yet. As PTR points out, they have been doing some good things, and those assuming "its' over" are operating under the notion that every other team is going to win every game they should...it just doesn't happen like that...it never does. A bunch of the middling teams (like the Bills) will fade down the stretch, and 2 or 3 will play better down the stretch...a few of the perenials (Denver, New England, etc etc) will lose a game that nobody thinks they will lose..it is inevitable.
  19. Thanks for the advice, I will file it away with all your other FF advice...
  20. Been rolling with Cutler all season, and he has been good, sometimes great for me. His matchup Sunday night in Green Bay scares me a little...which would you start this week: Cutler (at GB), Orton (vs KC), or Dalton vs Cleveland?
  21. I can't fathom any scenario where Bob Krafts would let Bill Belechik deal away Brady, even if he starts playing lousy...which hasn't happened yet. Brady will only leave when he wants to.
