New Bills owners’ passionate vision of One Buffalo
Buftex replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has anyone been to the 716 yet? It looks pretty impressive, just curious as to what the experience was like. Gotta say, for my tastes in a sports bar, it looks a little too upscale...but I would give it a shot. Anyone? -
Dante, I serioiusly would go with Orton. I think he is just as likely to put up numbers as any of your other options...and lets face it, the Bills could very likely be playing catch up...seems like the Packers are bent on scoring 31 pts in the first half of every game, as of late.

Great article...more insight into the Pegulas than I have read anywhere. Gotta confess, I am a little smitten with Kim! -
Official 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' thread
Buftex replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Gotta say, as an old Star Trek nut, I was excited when he was chosen to oversee the Star Trek re-boot... not so much because I am a huge JJ Abrams fan, but people "in the know" on these things, kept telling me how great he was...must say, the first Star Trek re-boot flik was fun, for about a half an hour, but the rest, and the sequal were pretty dull... almost got the feeling that the second Abrams got the Star Wars gig, he just lost all interest in the Star Trek "franchise". That said, I loved the original Star Wars flik, and this trailer certainly looks a lot more like it, in spirit anyways, than the three most recent fliks....probably see it when it comes out on blu-ray. I am sure you have all seen this by now, but if not, it is good for a chuckle... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0099FXLv2U -
Good luck...be safe.

I would go with this lineup: RB: McCoy, Crowell WR: Nelson, Brown and Evans
-
I would probably go with Ryan too.

9 Who Should Be On The Way Out .....
Buftex replied to BuffaninATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny, I meant to say "Orton, EJ and Tuel". I don't mind that approach, but is Orton that much worse than most of the other guys mentioned? Isn't bringing back Orton, Manuel, Tuel and then signing another guy (either another FA vet, say, like Cousins) or drafting another mid-round guy, kind of the same thing? Just not see that I see the reason to jettison Orton, Manuel, and/or Tuel (if he is even relevant at this point) in favor of a similar bag of toys with different names. The only guy I see metnioned (at this point anyways) that I would see as a clear upgrade is Cutler...and I am not even sure I would want them to make that move... I think he is worlds better, talent wise, but not sure that his personality would mesh well with WNY football fans, and he obviously has his own issues. -

This topic is being discussed in tons of other threads...please consider using the search option before posting! Just funning with you 26CornerBlitz! -
I would go with Kelce and Sproles. I really like Jordan Reed, but that Redskins offense is a disaster right now...not even sure who will be starting. It seems to me, RGIII (who will start if Colt can't go) doesn't really use the TE's as much.

Yeah, ok...everyone is down on the Bills QB's, and justifiably so, I suppose. But the real question is, who do you replace them with? Are Bills fans going to tolerate another rookie? What free agent would be available that won't have as many questions and concerns as Orton & Tuel. Sure, I would be a little excited if they went after Cutler, because I think he is better than either of the guys we have..but he will likely bring his own issues to the table, least of which would be a fan base that is looking for any reason they can to fry QB's. Just don't think Cutler and Buffalo would be a good mix...I am not sold on Kaepernick or RGIII at this point, either. Who does that leave? Matt Schaub? Brian Hoyer? Are any of these guys an upgrade over what we have? -
Bears may trade Cutler in offseason...
Buftex replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutler has his problems, but he would be the best QB the Bills have had behind center in quite a while... I actually like him. That said, I don't think Buffalo is a good fit for him. Not talking x's and o's (he could be great with this offensive personnel), but just the mix of his personality, and the increasingly impatient fan base would just be a bad mix. I also think the Bears, who have had a miserable QB history, would be making a big mistake to ditch Cutler at this point. He is not the caliber of a P Manning, Brady or Rodgers, but he is also a cut or two above most of the the other QB's in the leauge. You hear about the guys who will possibly be available next off-season like Hoyer, Kaepernick, RGIII, Schaub...that should tell you how shallow the vetran QB market is. -
One ex-Bill rips another ex-Bill to shreads!

Obviously, Fletcher had some deeply embedded issues with Haslett. I am a huge fan of the Chuck Knox era Bills, and Haslett was a pretty big part of their success...but I gotta say, I am so glad Ralph Wilson never hired Hasett as our coach... I have a hell of a lot of respect for Fletcher, what he says confirms things I have heard about Haslett over the years. -
I don't think "trying to be everyone's freind" is one of Marrones' problems. It is pretty apparent, if you follow the team closely, that he has had issues with players in the past, and manybe even has a "doug house" for some of them. I also think, early on, he was pretty loose lipped with the media, and has learned, the hard way, not to say too much, and not to give the media any insight into any internal issues he has with players.
-
Orton is what he is...he has some talents, but running the ball just isn't one of them. He just isn't fast enough, or athletic enough to turn that play into a first down...so he avoided a hit which very likely could have led to a fumble, and whatever else. Whenever he has to move in the pocket, with his heavy feet, I get the feeling that his number one priority is not to turn the ball over...I don't think anything less of him after that play. Also, if you haven't noticed, head caoches (except maybe John Gruden) are usually very reluctant to criticize, through the media, their QBs.

Wow...this is pretty brutal! Like somehting that somebody would post here...Fletcher rips Haslett! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000440792/article/london-fletcher-rips-jim-haslett-coordinator-responds

Refs Fist Bump After Broncos TD
Buftex replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What was the actual call on Gilmore on that play? Was it pass interference, or unnecessary roughness? I think the officiating yesterday was pretty awful, but I am not reading anything into this silly "fist-bump" thing. I did get the sense, a few times yesterday, that the official who was doing all the talking on the calls, didn't even believe what he was saying...almost an apologetic look in his eyes as he explained the infractions. Incidentally, from what I understand (didn't see it for myself) the Browns got jacked on a bad PI call which, in effect, sealed a win for the Colts yesterday...it is all around. -
Well, if you fire the HC, you are pretty much blowing the whole thing up. No? How often does it work that a team hires a new head coach, and makes the new coach keep the old staff in tact? If they hire a new head coach, they would pretty much be forced to, at least, interview Schwartz for the job. Not something I am sure is better. I love him as our DC, but not as HC. I am not a huge fan of Marrone, I will admit, but sometimes I feel like I am being a little too critical. If I were Pegula, I might force Marrones' hand on firing Hackett. I just think this offense, still, has too much talent to be this stagnant. As always, it is going to be a very interesting off-season. I don't get the sense that Marrone is going to get fired...but some changes are needed.

Is it silly to think Rex Ryan might be our DC next year?
Buftex replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Rex will get more looks for another HC job than Schwartz will. Not knocking Schwartz, and I love what he has done in Buffalo, but I don't think he was viewed as a great HC in Detroit, and he had a pretty decent amount of talent at his disposal there. And, lets not lose sight of the fact, as great as the defense has been this season, they were pretty good last year too, with a different DC. -
Difference is, Stevie didn't miss many games. He played hurt, a lot, but rarely missed a start because of injury. With Marquise, it is frustrating, because he will make a great play, or at least a good play, nearly every game he is in, but always gets hurt in the process. so he can't finish.

Ditka 'embarrassed' for Rams involved in 'hands up Protest

Hey buddy....long time! -
Oh sorry....guess I misread the schedule. Cutler went off tonight against the Cowboys...36pts! Of course, I am on the bye too...so it does me no good!

Sure, the grand jury in Ferguson came to the right conclusion, based on the information (erroneous and questionable as it may have been) that was provided. The prosecutor did a horrible job, and appears to have a conflict of interest in this case. Also, in a grand jury case, it is pretty unusual for a defendant to testify. Wilson got to spin his yarn. but the other guy is dead. Basically, the only information the grand jury was given was that which favored Wilsons' story. I rarely agree with Al Sharpton, but think he is right in this case. An impartial, or "special prosecutor' should be assigned in cases that involve possible police prosecution.
