  1. Make bank on golf before your buddies figure it out.
  2. Life can fly by. On this day 44 years ago ago, I was sitting at some coffee shop with my cousin Lyle enjoying our Java. An ambulance went screaming by and we didn’t even give it a second thought. We found out later that it was our uncle Eugene. He died that day. October 2, 1981. I’m not one to preach but pay attention to your loved ones and things around you. It’s all important. 44 years later and still some guilt.
  3. Already two “game sevens” tomorrow. I’d love to see all four go that way but it’s tough to see the Reds getting it done.
  4. I agree that the SD crowd is always fun. I love watching them at home. The world only deserves SD/LA is if SD wins. I’ve had enough of LA. Mason Miller struck out the first 8 post season batters he faced. Is that good? Up 3-0 going to the bottom of the 9th but even if they hold on they burned through a lot of their bullpen today. Jason Adam would be nice for them to have. Can Bello beat the Yanks tonight? I’d lean Yankees staying alive but I can hope.
  5. Board warning: Don’t click those as they are probably Peter Pan. If it IS music, it's probably that San Diego song from South Park. I think it’s this dudes theme.
  6. First reply of the thread inches it toward the fire McDermott narrative. Excellent work.
  7. The Jags throttled the 49ers all day yesterday. By far the better team. Maybe the 49ers just stink. That’s possible I suppose but I don’t think that’s why.
  8. Dallas? Really? also…. Denver? Really? These are not impossible teams to beat.
  9. For the third and final time, all I said is that he will make an appearance on the odds board at some point during the season. Is Matthew Stafford truly an MVP contender? He is on the board at the start of this thread.
  10. The refs are running out of thumbs to put on the scales for the home teams tonight.
  11. I don’t think so Clarise.
  12. She’s a sideline reporter who, given she was assigned the Bears/Raiders game, is probably still learning her craft and trying to climb her way up the ladder. Maybe she was a little nervous. Maybe she will get better at delivery. She probably had the question given to her by a producer and did not ad lib it. He is at the top of his profession but new so he is probably on a bit of a learning curve himself. If he’s not qualified to avoid mocking a four foot nine female reporter and so weak that he needs to double down by getting in her face…….he’s got a douche bag problem that is not ever going to be solved regardless of his job. Your comparison is apples and Buicks.
  13. Did I say he was at the prospect level he was touted to be? He’s helped that team grit our 3 wins. Last year he would have folded his tent. All I said was that at some point he will be on the MVP odds board. He will probably be toward or at the bottom but he is playing better than some of the guys currently on it.
  14. He also gutted out a couple big wins including yesterday. He is playing with more fire. I by no means think he will win. I just said he’ll hit the odds board. Either they are a good team or the 49ers are bad. Because watching that game yesterday it was 100% clear which team is better.
  15. 1-3 doesn’t help. Trevor Lawrence will make an appearance on this list at some point. The Jags are not a mirage. Lawrence looks like he might have turned a corner. Stafford? Shirley. Love instead of Goff? Not sure on that. Non-QB vote getter? Bijan Robinson.
  16. While pipsqueak Worthy was recovering from an injury.
  17. I think you have him mixed up with Conejito Malo..
  18. Tigers/Cleveland will be fun, but to me, Seattle is in the best position in the AL. They will play the winner and have the pitching to shut them down. Meanwhile the Yanks have to navigate Crochet and Bello typically gives them trouble. They are not a slam dunk to beat Boston. Yanks bats run hot and cold. I can see them going to the World Series and can also see them getting swept by the Red Sox. They’d have the bye if they inserted Caballero and benched Volpe after the trade but Volpe has an Italian surname. If Grisham continues his Brady Anderson season that will help. I wonder how long before he gets suspended. It’s obvious. I’d love for the Reds to beat the Dodgers but can’t see it. Hunter Greene could make it an interesting start to the series. Cubs/Padres should be the best first round series. Both flawed teams but with pretty deep lineups and good but not deep pitching. If games are close the Padres bullpen is nasty but losing Jason Adam really hurt them. It might be what does them in. Can the Brewers maintain the regular season consistency in the playoffs? I think they have a shot if Woodruff is healthy enough to pitch. Priester’s surprising season helped them. I think the most likely WS matchup is Seattle vs. Philly but can see practically any combo that does not include the Tigers, Guards or Reds…..but I love what they did this year. Whatever it ends up as : NL team > AL team.
  19. I’m glad Allen was looking at the sideline after the touchdown. My mom and dad taught me to look where I was going when I was maybe 15 months old. Looks like Allen’s parents taught him the same thing. After a TD , the QB goes to the sidelines. I’m glad Allen wasn’t looking into the sky or at the ground when he was going to the sideline. He might have bumped into someone or something and got hurt.
  20. Did Collinsworth say that Love was trying to work away from Parsons?
  21. The Jags are going to win that division.
