What are you expecting from the Bills DTs in 2006?
LabattBlue replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sold on any of them until I know they passed the Krumrie test. Oops...I forgot this great coach is no longer here. How are we going to do without his ranting in a t-shirt on a cold December day. -
As I posted over in the Sabres Report... Add in Briere at 5 mil and you are up to 29+ mil. Yet to go...Max, Dumont, Connolly, Gaustad, Mair, Miller & Kalinin. That would be 22 players. I'm not sure how many have to count against the cap, but I will take a wild guess and say that in order to retain all these players, Tommy G's purse strings are going to have to open wide enough to pull out 40+ million.

I'm not sure if it 5 long disappointing years of the TD regime, not being in the playoffs for so long, the Sabres having a ton of success this past year or something else, but I don't ever remember feeling less excited about a training camp that is about to open. If I had to describe it in one word it would be...indifferent. Hopefully all it will take is one visit to training camp to get pumped up for the season.

I have the same model and the same problems. In addition, I had one unit fail completely which needed replacement and of course at that point lost everything I had recorded.

Beer Snobs (you know who you are)

While searching for something else just now on TSW, I came across this post. Stuff like this will hold me over until you start up the American Idol reviews next year. Funny sh--! -
Gee what a surprise. They might as well be giving Darcy and Quinn a reacharound while they are at it.

OL Peters signs contract extension
LabattBlue replied to BigDaddy12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad that he was signed to an extension and the fact that TD signed him up as a UDFA, but the phrase "extremely rare talent" should be reserved for players of Reggie Bush's caliber. -
My 2006 Buffalo Bills Training Camp Preview.
LabattBlue replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WM had 325 carries in 2005 and he NEVER had the opportunity to be 1-on-1 with a LB or DB? I'm not going to try and tell you that I have memorized every one of his carries from 2005, but I have to believe he had many 1-on-1 opportunities in which he could have utilized the straight arm which was a force in 2004. -

I knew that it wouldn't be long before bad OL play was stated as the reason why WM did not use his straight arm in 2005. I think you need to look inside WM's head to find the answer instead. -
Most ANNOYING TBD term or catchphrase

Stupid nicknames for other NFL teams...Dolfelons, Dolfags, etc... It like being in a name calling contest sponsored by 3rd graders. -
My 2006 Buffalo Bills Training Camp Preview.
LabattBlue replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah yes...the great WM straight arm. The one we saw as an effective weapon in 2004, but that became non-existant in 2005. -
Substitution and offsides questions from a very casual fan... Why not allow "on the fly" substitutions instead of the limited substitution rule that currently exists? This would allow players to come on and off as much as they want. Also, why not have a fixed "offsides" line where a player in the offensive zone can't cross before the ball(much like the blue line in hockey) instead of this moving offsides line that is determined by the position of the defender?

What was the most heart breaking non-playoff game?
LabattBlue replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every game against Miami in the '70's. If you didn't live through it, you just don't know how gut wrenching it was. -
Is this thread similiar to the "Brady is overrated, he sucks and their MVP is their kicker" threads.

"Pro Football Talk" preseason rankings
LabattBlue replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
blah, blah, blah...PFT sucks, PFW blows, ESPN is a joke, yahoo.com doesn't know anything about football, etc... Who F***ing cares!! The minute any of these media outlets do a 180 and say something good about the Bills, a TSW ballwashing of epic proportions will take place proclaiming the author to be the only guy in the world who knows anything about football. -
...and for the ballet.

I'm not a soccer fan, but I've watched bits and pieces so far and will try to catch the semifinals and finals. That being said, I've got a beef with the use of the term "NIL". I don't care if soccer enthusiasts around the world want to use this term, but every sports broadcaster(radio & TV) feel that they MUST now use this terminology. Hey bozo's...it's okay to say France beat Brazil ONE TO NOTHING. The soccer nazis won't crucify you for saying it the way you would refer to any other 1-0 score.

When I first opened this thread my answer would have been "never read long posts", but you reminded me of Johnny Coli....I always read his American Idol reviews.

I grew up watching OJ(along with McAdoo and Perreault) and I agree with everything you said. OJ was head and shoulders above Thurman as a RB. Unfortunately, bad teams, stupid coaches and injury problems stopped him from being possibly the best of all time. Thurman was very good, but no comparison.

Bass Pro in the Aud...will it ever become reality?
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This($200 per seat cost for removal) is a bunch of bull sh-- by some city hack. You can't convince me that after you figure in the expense of someone to remove all the seats, that the money you would bring by selling them would not exceed the removal cost. -

LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You still have to have something to attract conventioneers to Buffalo other than the convention center itself. If they can develop the inner harbor and get the casino up and running, turning the Aud into a convention center could be viable. If not, it would be hard to justify building a new convention center when you look at the volume of business that the current one attracts. -

Fishing and hunting are big in WNY and putting the ultimate outdoor store at the foot of one of the Great Lakes would appear to be a win win situation. The money would be spent better on something else development wise? Let's hear some ideas?
