  1. -If the Sabres had won the cup against the Stars, the entire community of WNY would have noticed and by far would have been the biggest celebration this city has ever seen. -I'm guessing here, but the reason most of the people of Dallas didn't know about their hockey team is probably because their fan base is mostly transplanted northerners. -If you don't like the Sabres or the UB Bulls, speak for yourself. I think both teams will make Jan, Feb & Mar an exciting time in WNY. Just curious...do you currently live in WNY? If so, it might help to be a little more open minded towards other sports. As a matter of fact, after this football season, it will be a welcome relief.
  2. In the 3rd and 4th quarters did it ever occur to the coaching staff, that it might be wise to run to the outside or call a roll-out pass play? Miami was coming like gangbusters right up the middle over and over again, yet MM continued to call running plays between the tackles and pocket pass plays. Does somebody need to tell them that we now have a QB who is capable of excelling in the roll-out passing game? WTF!
  3. I share your frustration as a long time Bills fan. I think this organization is crying for a HC with some experience and with the success Wyche had with the Bengals, he could be that man assuming his health isn't an issue. If not, give me any former HC who has had success in the NFL.
  4. I've been really quiet here over the last month and a half because I've become so disgusted with this whole organization, but I'd like to throw this one out there... How about giving Sam Wyche a chance at being a head coach again? sh-- can TD, MM, JG and TC. Promote Modrak and let Wyche build a new staff. It's going to be a rebuilding next year anyways.
  5. I know that you shouldn't feel bad for someone who is making millions of dollars doing something they love, but I feel bad for the guy. He played for the pitiful Bengals for 5 years. He finally gets the chance to escape from the Bengals in FA and chooses Buffalo. Now while the Bengals appear to have a team capable of making a playoff run for the forseeable future, Spikes is here in Buffalo trying to recover from an injury that is career ending(or career changing) for many players and is on a team that may be looking at a purging of veteran players on the wrong side of 30.
  6. I was high on Rivers before the Chargers drafted him two years ago and still believe he will be an above average QB in the NFL. I just wish that somehow the Bills would make a run at him.
  7. Well said. This thread should have closed after you posted this.
  8. That's funny....I've posted twice since yesterday morning. Once about Lindell and the other about something Jeff Burris said on the radio. Maybe the person beating the dead horse is the one who started this thread.
  9. He's 5 of 6 from beyond 40 this year. Give the guy a little credit for his play this year. He has been just short of perfect. If he makes 13-15 beyond 40 by the end of the year, do you comeback with..."Oh yeah, but none of them with the game on the line!"??
  10. I happened to be in the car at this point in the game and also heard this. I'm still trying to figure out what he was actually trying to say.
  11. I agree. You don't hear Simon being condescending or hanging up on callers.
  12. Even Alan Pergament of the Buffalo News is on the "bash shopp" bandwagon... http://buffalonews.com/editorial/20051015/1067181.asp Schopp's act is wearing thin By ALAN PERGAMENT 10/15/2005 When Mike Schopp started at WNSA-FM with his "sports talk for smart people" slogan, I was a big fan. He was reasonable, engaging, smart and funny. But lately at WGR AM-550, the thin-skinned Schopp has lost me with his arrogance, rude treatment of callers and ludicrous statements...
  13. My favorite of all time...Don West hawking sports memorabilia. If you have forgotten Don, go to this website and listen to the mp3's at the bottom of the page. He is now a wrestling announcer. http://www.donwest.org/ also...under the column of "motion cards", check out the 2 videos that begin with "swim".
  14. Has the Jason Peters fan club been keeping track of how many positions have been suggested for JP here at TBD??
  15. No but it's strange that a coach who seems to have plenty of "coaching years" left in the tank, would go from a top asst. at Penn State to UB HC to fall off the face of the earth.
  16. Brad...funny stuff. Good to see you have a sense of humor!
  17. I believe his NFL pension couldn't be touched in terms of paying off the civil suit verdict. Therefore he is living off a very nice pension.....while he looks for the real killer!
  18. Thanks Lori. I must have missed this article in the Buffalo News.
  19. This is why I am very interested in the 2nd half of this years schedule. It is loaded with quality opponents and I want to see how the Bills fare.
  20. To those in this thread who stated that the reason for not talking the safety is that Miami could have scored and then miss the extra point, which then would have sent the game into overtime... This season 273 out of 277 extra points have been made for a 98.55% rate. It's about as automatic as anything in football.
  21. and then go tongue kiss Ralph Wilson but as long as we win on Sunday, who cares.
  22. I could be wrong, but has former coach Craig Cirbus coached anywhere since UB let him go?
