  1. Edwards was already washed up when gailey came on board. I think Gailey tried him on for size at Ralph Wilson's request. That owner driven tryout lasted two games. When Mr Wilson finally saw the light, Chan used the ax. Just my guess.....as Ralph was proud to say, at one time, that he helped draft Edwards.
  2. Or use the TE as an H back and have him block.....
  3. He could ride back from Toronto on the team bus! Or do the Bills fly?
  4. Yep, McKelvin has played well on the outside the last 5 or 6 games. He has the speed to do so. He is not a great hitter, but can tackle. Now, about Brooks....good hitter, coverage skills, but slower than a CB needs to be. He could not run down the returner (Hilton) on the kickoff return in the Indy game....he was outclassed speed wise. Hilton is a wide out! Look at the film, I studied it several times. He seems like a safety to me....and, alas, Williams is also a safety. So, if McKelvin is not resigned by the Bills (he will get big money in the league somewhere), the Bills will once again need a CB with speed...read early rounds into that statement, maybe another #1.
  5. To those who want to lose out...wt_ .....I hate the Jets and phins.....always, love to see the NY media cry when the Jets lose. And, Seatle might be in the hunt, would love to knock them off and out. Sorry, I can't support the lose out scenrio. However, that does not make it any less likely to happen.
  6. Chan will get another year, and, I guess I can support that decision. He is light years better than Jauron. You all need to think back....to that worse time.
  7. This one was not on the QB.
  8. Not Gailey's best moment for sure. I can't understand how he doesn't get the Spiller issue......I guess he has to go....I am regretful, since I think the team is better thna anytime in the Jauron era. I guess his fault is picking his people and sticking with them, even when they don't do the job........needed to get Spiller 20 touches, and then, if they lost, I could say he gave it a good shot. Spiller with single digit touches means a new head coach. The current one is a slave to his preconcieved notion of how things are.
  9. Gailey absolutely doesn't get it that Spiller needs 20+ touches, and Fred Jackson isn't the Fred of last year...he has lost a step for sure, likely the injuries and age. Hopefully Jacksons injury will make him play Spiller more, but who knows, he likes Choice.
  10. D is better these few games, but they need to mix it up some more, they are horrifyingly predictible.
  11. I had season tickets in front of his box, before the lower row of boxes was put in, for maybe 15 years. When I say in front, I mean, if he spilled his drink, the back of my shirt got wet. Over that time, I spoke to him a number of times. I learned one thing. If the game was going on, don't even think about talking to him, he is all fan, watching the game. He is very sociable during half time and before/after...very nice guy. I was there the day the fans took the goal post down and brought one leg up to him. I was there the day OJ, the sportscaster leaned in standing in my seat and interviewed Mr Wilson. I overheard (really not intentionally) many conversations, especially with his daughter Linda (RIP) who knew a lot about the game. They talked most about players. Despite the criticism he gets on this board, Mr Wilson is a gentleman, and a genuine nice guy in my view. I wish him well, and hope his physical problems will resolve themselves.
  12. If you want to live in the big city (Atlanta), Georgia Tech is the way to go!
  13. This will be a tough one for the Bills at home. They can win, but their consistency is not yet proven. A good effort tomorrow would make me a lot more optimistic going into the Seahawks game. Two in a row would be great . Three in a row would be super great.
  14. I won't pay to see the felon play. OK, he did his time and was contrite. But, I choose who to associate with in my life, and people like him are not on my play list. But, I am small potatoes in this discussion, I only have four season tickets. Wouldn't matter to Mr Brandon I am sure.
  15. The issue of Fitz remaining with the team is an interesting one. In the best of worlds, Fitz plays until the next generation is ready, ala Kaepernick, Rogers etc, and then stays around a season or two to mentor and relieve. (they do that in baseball, why not football?) The issue is whether Fitz has the mentality to do that. two decades ago, Kelly did not have that mentality, any new QB would have been treated as a competitor by Kelly....so he wasn't going to mentor a young guy. Just wondering....because we need to get the next generation soon, and although there have been good rookies this year, I remember lots of busts in the first rounds as well. (Health Schuler , anyone?)
  16. With the record this year, we won't be seeing a brutal schedule......
  17. Bills should sign him to get the straight scoop on the Seahawks Offense. After dwonloading all he knows, then cut him loose! this is legal hardball, and done all the time.
  18. Yes, the D is coming on, and mario is leading the improvement. But, the other guys are helping. New guy at d end is helping some, and Carrington is making a few plays. Others also contributing. And, the D line can get even better, I make Darius as hurting with a shoulder arm problem, would not be surprised to hear about off season surgery to correct whatever it is, since he is playing through the situation. Watch him closely, his arm is hanging a lot.....this is soph slump for cause in my view. Kelsay may have played his last game for the Bills. And who figured McKelvin would steady the secondary when given the CB start.
  19. Well, yeh, but, you realize that when time is running out, the QB has to make a play, and usually has to throw into coverage. Thats why those picks occur at the end of the game...happens a lot, not just to Fitz.
  20. Both on IR, we are down 4 top OL guys. I expect our running attack to go downhill from its stronger position of late.
  21. You might not love it when you realize that there may be two practice squad guys playing the O-line this week. This will not be last weeks running attack.
  22. Don't forget Urbik, a quality guard that also plays center. Have needed him there two years in a row. And, I am still not a believer in Hairston, he gets beat to much by speed guys.
  23. Actually, I was glad when Poz went elsewhere, as he was brittle in the sense of missed seasons. Apparently Woods is also, so I am not opposed to getting another quslity lineman who can plaly center with a premium draft pick. the all pro Centers never miss a game.
  24. I throw out another thesis about why we didn't see Easley. The run game was the plan, Bills were ahead, conditions were bad for the throwing game and so, the principle job of the WR's at that point was to block for the running game. I think that ruvell Martin is better fodder for that kind of situation, at least right now. Easley will still get his chance this season, I hope. I just think Chan was saving Easley for a better situation. Why get him hurt again blocking lb's ...time for that later...need to find out if he is a receiver. Based on the preseason return for a TD, and the really good return yesterday, we see he has some skills. If he can play receiver, we can use him.
