Peter King: "No team in LA until at least 2014"
bigK14094 replied to l< j's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best inovative business thought I have heard on this board in quite a while. Well, there is USC and UCLA and on and on. Lots of football available in SC, a tough market for the pro's to crack. Two failures so far there. (Rams and Raiders) In buffalo, there was no competition in 1960, as UB was small time, and, although Div 1 now, still is only a mid major player. So, the WNY fan base is oriented to the Bills. Syracuse is a little far to go, and tickets not to available/Carrier Dome is pretty small. However ,the TV thing does level the revenue thing to some degree...but, the prices in a big market might be higher. I just hope the Bills will try somewhat higher prices before they abandone the Buffalo area, we are very low on ticket prices right now. -

Nix changing his mind on Gailey?

I think Polian likes the ESPN gig and had called it a career. -
Nix changing his mind on Gailey?

Unfortunately, you will get your wish when Ralph passes. In the etc category, will be the Bills organization. -
Yeh, even Cordy Glenn got wupped yesterday.

Well, it was a mistake, however it happened, but not a big deal. I actually think that the sneak needs to get run in unexpected situations once in a while to keep the D honest. I saw a QB do that a couple of years ago, and he went for 55 yards. Would have scored but the center (who was out in front of him) was to slow. Ran it because ther was nobody up the middle in the D. Speaking of unexpected plays, that fake punt was a beauty, ehh. (it was in Canada ) Just surprised, then, that idoit Carroll didn't also run an onside kick after one of their scores!(I guess he was taking it easy on the Bills )

Who says Chan gets fired tomorrow?
bigK14094 replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mr Wilson will have his year end review with Nix and Gailey. At that time, they will be told whether they will continue. I remember when Chuck Knox came back from Detroit, and announced he would not be back. Anyhow, that is the alleged SOP. So, first or second week in January will tell the tale. A top five pick would not be bad news. However, I hate to loose to the phins and Jets, especially. So, I will be pulling for our team, however bad they may be. I lived through the 2-14 years that got us OJ, so I guess I can live through this. -
Another defensive stinker. Outcoached and outplayed. Lots of folks out there that don't know what they are doing. I can wait a couple more games to find out who is getting fired. Nothing would surprise me. the rookies really looked bad, Graham, Glenn both looked terrible. Gilmore and Brooks got smoked a couple of times also. At least no negative calls on Williams, but maybe he was so far out of position that they could call him out. May be time to finally let the season tickets go.
-
Yes, Graham looks like a bust at this point. I counted 4 drops, and I wonder why Easley isn't in there. I remember a number of years back the Bills had a punt returner who dropped three in one game, and they cut him the next week. TJ is a candidate for that treatment, recalling the Pats game faisco as well.

Spiller will get his yards, I am saying another 100plus game. Fitz will have a good game.......but so will Lynch. Close game to call, Bills would win 4 of 10 if they played 10. Still not consistent enough. Of course, a couple of big plays could turn it around. McKelvin could do it, Graham could do it, Spiller could do it. Who Knows, thats why they play the games.

Aggressive vs. Realistic Bills Offseason Plans for 2013
bigK14094 replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Michael Vick paid his debt to society. OK, I get that. But he is not the person I want the kids in WNY looking at in a Bills uniform. And, I have seen Vick in person in the Ralph as the Atlanta QB.......a scrambler without a great arm...never get you to the SB...and already north of 30. Bottom line....we will never see Vick in a Bills uni.....IMO finally, I am thinking whatever it takes to get Landry Jones....all those starts in the OK uniform.....he can play. -
I remeber all the happy talk about James Hardy. But, the guy was incredibly slow and couldn't play at all, save the jump ball pass at which he excelled at 6'6 or whatever he was. I am not sure I believe any of the predraft hype. I would go for the speed guy every time.

Does Nix have any clue what he is doing? going after QB
bigK14094 replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buddy has excelled at combing the corners of the league for players. We got Urbik, Reinhart, Chandler that way......reports of his mistakes are legit, but remember the good moves also! -
Well, the truth is the Buffalo market will not support the ticket price structure that can be had in Toronto (or in many other large markets) Hence, the winning record would not change the finicial calculus much. Selling out Ralph Wilson Stadium at current prices still has a significant disadvantage to selling out the Rogers center. Hence, the money men will prefer a big market venue. That includes all the visiting teams as well, since they get a share of the live gate. So, I don't buy the on field performance argument vs a via the need to have a Toronto game or two. If that keeps the bills in Buffalo, I am all for it!

Would Mario restructure his contract?
bigK14094 replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, the list is longer than those two. Urbik and Reinhart also have to be resigned. Thats the top 3 guards, and we surely have to get Urbik. Reinhart is a starter on other teams as well.....hope we don't loose him. And, somewhere out there is t he end of Woods contract.....I think he may have one more year. Spiller has two more I think. George Wilson also will need to be resigned, but I am wondering about that. With Aaron Williams a bust at CB, he may be moved to safety, DeNorris Searcy is already there, And, frankly, Ron Brooks would be a great safety as well, a hitter with ball skills, depending on if his very average speed is adequate on the corner or slot. -
Better team now than three years ago?
bigK14094 replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I am tired of trying three years and out, lots of confusion with a new system. Of course, the 3/4 4/3 switches have rendered the D useless for much of the last three years. The last few games are the only time in that period where I have seen a real NFL defense! And, the O is definitely better than any of the Jauron years, they were in the bottom 4 or 5 in those years. I think if the D had been better, Gailey would have had a better record than the Jauron years. I think they finally have it right (almost), it still can get better with better personnel, esp at LB. None the less, at this point, the O and the D are better than the Jauron years. No desire to go back there. And, yes, the personnel are better, and I agree, the strength of the O is the Oline and rb. QB and WR could be better, but are not total diasters. And, I think Fitz is better than Losman or Edwards ever were on their best days. -
Captain Checkdown article
bigK14094 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edwards was already washed up when gailey came on board. I think Gailey tried him on for size at Ralph Wilson's request. That owner driven tryout lasted two games. When Mr Wilson finally saw the light, Chan used the ax. Just my guess.....as Ralph was proud to say, at one time, that he helped draft Edwards. -
I think I know why CJ doesn't get on the field more...

Or use the TE as an H back and have him block..... -
Think Seatle would consider trading Flynn?
bigK14094 replied to jhemmer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He could ride back from Toronto on the team bus! Or do the Bills fly? -
Ron Brooks - Out of Position
bigK14094 replied to TheLynchTrain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, McKelvin has played well on the outside the last 5 or 6 games. He has the speed to do so. He is not a great hitter, but can tackle. Now, about Brooks....good hitter, coverage skills, but slower than a CB needs to be. He could not run down the returner (Hilton) on the kickoff return in the Indy game....he was outclassed speed wise. Hilton is a wide out! Look at the film, I studied it several times. He seems like a safety to me....and, alas, Williams is also a safety. So, if McKelvin is not resigned by the Bills (he will get big money in the league somewhere), the Bills will once again need a CB with speed...read early rounds into that statement, maybe another #1. -
To those who want to lose out...wt_ .....I hate the Jets and phins.....always, love to see the NY media cry when the Jets lose. And, Seatle might be in the hunt, would love to knock them off and out. Sorry, I can't support the lose out scenrio. However, that does not make it any less likely to happen.
