thanks for the heads up!!

I am going to check this out. I have been reading with one of my kids these “wicked history” books, which seem similar. Short bios on infamous people in history. We just did Robespierre and Julius Caesar. They are really great (for kids and and adults too).

Interesting Eric Moulds stat
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sort of funny, but there was a time when the knock on Moulds was that he only played great in even-numbered years. His best years were 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004. 😀 -
I will throw out some that I have really liked. I try to avoid the long meandering podcasts, and mostly look for ones that have episodes that are 40 minutes or less. 1) True Crime. Chameleon (Hollywood Con Queen); Betrayal; first season of Serial. 2) Sports/Fitness. Cover One (mostly just like their pre-game show); Golf IQ; Muscle for Life; Zoe Science and Nutrition (FYI, you have to listen to these with a great of salt, since everyone has their own philosophy when it comes to fitness and nutrition). 3) History. The Rest is History. 4) Pop stuff. Is a hot dog a sandwich?; Economics of every day life.

I am always looking to hear what podcasts people listen to, and whether they have any good recommendations. I have pretty varied tastes (true crime, history, golf, fitness and nutrition, religion, food, Bills). I can throw out a few I recommend in a bit, but any good ones that people are listening to?

I heard something on a podcast the other day that there are more people in the USA with Irish DNA than in Ireland!

I feel like Minnesota has made about 20 trades this offseason.

Hoecht and Ogunjobi 6 game suspension for PEDs
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sorry, but Ogunjobi contract shouldn’t be signed. I would pull that immediately. -
he learned what not to do!

Is Donte Fowler still available? SIGN HIM NOW
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to nosejob's topic in The Stadium Wall
was 2024 his best year? As i recall, he’s otherwise had a pretty long and meh career. -
Jags trade Laviska Shenault to Panthers
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love it. Keeping receipts on Shenault predictions! -
It’s like Beane is trying to replicate one of my last place fantasy teams. Samuel, Shenault. Who’s next? Darren Sproles!?

Bills Sign Safety Darrick Forrest

4.63 is pretty generous too. -
A lot of the sporting news and SI articles now are AI-generated too. Just churning out stuff.

Syracuse Basketball 2024-2025
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in Off the Wall
I have a buddy who is a McNeese State alum (played for them), and close to the program, so he updates me on his progress. i guess it took Q a while to really get acclimated. But he came on mid-season. Looks like he is anywhere between 15-30 minutes per game, and I think he plays mostly point. I think they have a pretty balanced team, and Q now seems to have found his niche. i do wonder though whether he made the right move. If he had stayed with us, I have a feeling he could have had the lion’s share of minutes at the 1. -
Another one - Trey Hendrickson asks for a trade from Cincy
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
believe it or not, if you take a look at the 2024 sack leaders (say, every player with 10 sacks or more last year), you will see a bunch of those guys were not super high picks. There are certainly some (Garrett, will anderson). But a lot of guys were outside of the top 10, and outside of the first round. You even had vet retreads like Van Noy in that list. i don’t think it’s luck. It’s that there are more good edge rushers in drafts than people think. It also has to do with player development and scheme too. -

I hear you. I guess my point is that unlike some other positions, you can actually find diamonds in the rough at EDGE in the draft more than people think. There are some other positions where it’s a lot harder and you almost have to use a top-10 pick (like QB and maybe CB), but I think DE is becoming more amenable to later round talent. Guys like Crosby and Hendrickson are good examples, because scouts saw their potential, but they were a little raw and were from small schools and so were drafted a little lower. (I actually think Solomon could fit that same mould, and may end up being a real stud). -
Fair. I just think NE has a lot of money to throw around, has a desperate need at receiver, and we signed Palmer. Strikes me as unlikely, but you are right— who knows?

I wouldn’t waste your time on thinking about this. It’s almost a certainty he will be in New England.

Syracuse Basketball 2024-2025
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in Off the Wall
Tough end to the season. Just not enough offense against SMU. i will now be cheering for McNeese State and our boy Qadir in the big dance! -
I always thought the Steelers did him dirty. He was the best or their collection of garbage QBs a few years back (Pickett, trubisky, Rudolph), yet ended up as a 3rd stringer.

Hendrickson was a 3rd round pick. Watt was a very late 1st round pick. Maxx. Crosby was a 4th round pick. Chris Jones was a 2nd round pick. its not like picking a QB. You don’t have to strike gold. You can get elite pass rushers in the draft. Just have to pick better. just too risky for me to pay an elite pass rusher a ton of money.
