  1. Dumb question here. If we spread these guys out with 5-wide sets, how do they defend that? I know that’s not our usual MO, but that has to absolutely conflict a man-heavy/blitz team, right? They couldn’t dare rush more than 4, and if they did rush 4, that would leave basically only two defenders to have to account for Allen’s legs and to help in coverage.
  2. Is it just me or does ewers creep up unnecessarily in the pocket on just about every throw?
  3. i was just re-watching the highlights of that game, and I hope you are right. They started a bit slow (bad pick by Allen), but really turned it on. One of Coleman’s best games too.
  4. Tough to say, since every multiple MVP winner has won a SB.
  5. to me, there is no difference between Philip Rivers and pre-SB Peyton manning. Both great QBs. You can compare Lamar and Josh to both or either. Can’t really compare either to Peyton manning after he won his SB’s. The reality is that ravens and bills fans can debate in good fun about their QBs. But their legacies will be determined by SBs. Sort of unfair, but true.
  6. Philip Rivers was a great QB!! At this point, both Lamar and Josh compare pretty well to him. Great QBs who haven’t been to a SB.
  7. It seems like he can carefully navigate around the issue. He just can’t criticize teams and officials. That might be a pleasant surprise. An announcer who is simply going to analyze the plays on the field!!
  8. I agree. I thought he was solid. His delivery is Robotic, but that will improve with time. I thought he did a nice job on substance of the analysis.
  9. Maybe, but this seems like just some guy’s random opinion. Brady doesn’t strike me as a quitter either. In about 3 years, he will probably have worked so hard to become the greatest announcer of all time. Seriously.
  10. Philip Rivers was an absolute terror for the Bills for as long as he played. He was still great in 2020. Threw for like 4100 yards that season. I am not sure Bo Nix is going to have that same impact as that wily vet.
  11. agreed. Steelers are going to win. This is going to be a grind of a game, and I like tomlin and Wilson in the clutch in the playoffs.
  12. talk about poking the bear.
  13. I bet Allen wins MVP. This is a compromise vote. Give Lamar first team all pro and Allen MVP.
  14. awesome re Ingram. I was worried about him. He is really turning into a great STer and obviously great depth guy at corner.
  15. I am seeing a pretty ho hum forecast for Sunday. About 29 degrees. No wind or snow to speak of. Shouldn’t be a factor really for either team.
  16. my view on Texas might be skewed by how they looked early in the year. I didn’t seem them too much as the season went on. I know they started very hot.
  17. I can see why he is also good at golf. These mechanics issues are so similar, and you develop the right “feel” and “swing thought” (or “throwing thought”) to get the mechanics ingrained is a similar concept as in golf.
  18. Both QBs are mid. What’s funny is that there was chatter about Allar declaring early and thinking the browns would draft him at 2. He didn’t make a single NFL quality throw in that game. I have no dog in this fight, but Penn State just blew a game they should have won by 14 points. Notre Dame with a gritty win, but they are going to be beat by like 4 TDs in the title game.
  19. Agree. Smiley needs to just get out of the way basically, and not be the absolute worst— a very low threshold.
  20. Thanks for this! if you think about it, when has a spy really every truly worked against Josh? I guess if I am the broncos, I think about maybe trying to rush 4 as much as possible, keep a spy, and really play tight man coverage at every level, including on the check downs. But even then, I suspect we will run it down their throats.
  21. by comparison, they only sacked Lamar once, and the ravens beat them 41-10. Lamar 16/19 for 280 yards. Henry over 100’yards.
  22. Broncos have definitely had some huge sack games. 7 against the bengals. I think 6 against the Bucs. It seems like the games where they didn’t get a lot of sacks, they struggled more. if we don’t give up more than 1-2 sacks, it’s going to be tough for them to get us “off schedule.”
  23. I don’t think McD would dare bring up a PS player in a playoff game.
  24. the bills special teams just has to be able to NOT lose the game. Can’t have Blocked punts, fumbled returns, bad ST penalties, missed PATs. Just play average to below average, not terrible.
