welp, there goes that Pulitzer nomination for this article.

i wasn’t a bulls fan, but how you can not admire that team? Just an absolute killer dynasty with the GOAT Jordan. what’s amazing is that even though they won 6 titles, they easily could have won 10. They lost out on the 2 during the Jordan mini retirement. And then Reinsdorf got cheap at the end with Pippen— they re-sign Pippen, and they are probably looking at another 2-3 titles. No one was really seriously contending against those Bulls teams, and those titles were there for the taking.

Logan Thomas - a success or a miss?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Logan Thomas fully credits the Bills with developing him into a TE. I will find the article where I read this— but he pretty much admits he was totally lost at TE, but the Bills laid the foundation for him. I just suspect the Bills couldn’t wait around for him forever to break through. edit: here is the article—- Thomas caught 19 passes in two seasons with the Bills, 2017 and '18, and had 16 catches with the Lions in 2019 before his breakout season with Washington. He said the help he got in Buffalo from tight ends coach Rob Boras, tight ends Charles Clay, Nick O’Leary and Khari Lee, and defensive end Jerry Hughes was invaluable and a big reason he was able to make progress. https://www.espn.com/blog/jacksonville-jaguars/post/_/id/29245/logan-thomas-an-example-for-tim-tebow-in-transition-to-tight-end-for-jaguars -

Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but watched all the movies with my kids in the past few months on Disney+, and sort of got into it a little. we started on mandelorian (about 5 episodes in). It seems okay, but I have been sort of confused by it— seems like a bunch of disjointed events of mando carrying baby yoda around. I was expecting a more coherent and compelling story line. But maybe it gets better? -

The book was a lot better than the movie, IMO. Same with all of Lewis’s books. -

2013 Bills Season Defining Moments
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sort of amazed that this thread has had so much play. That Tuel/KC loss still stings. I was a big Tuel fan, and, as I recall, someone slipped on that pick 6 or it was dumb luck by the wrong defender (I forget the various excuses I had for that play). -
Movie(s) You've Seen The Most Times?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to The Avenger's topic in Off the Wall
There should be a special thread for "movies you have to always watch when on TV." My cousin vinny, Shawshank, and Godfather 2 are on that list for me. Same with the movies "The Holiday" and Christmas Story when played around the holiday season. As for the movie I have watched the most, just look at my screen name!!! -
Not in coast guard. We spend a lot of time on a smallish like— about 400 acres. The wake boats have really taken over, and it is a headache. If someone wants to kayak, sail, water ski, even jet ski— the wake boats really cause a headache. Maybe they have a less of an impact in a huge lake. But on a small lake!!— I am worried about the erosion and disturbance of the properties plus the pain in causes others on the water.

you left off wake boats— those are the bane of my existence. Create a ton of wake and make it impossible for everyone else around them.

Getting a new grill— thinking about a Kamado

Getting a new grill— thinking about a Kamado
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in Off the Wall
i did pretty well. The one mistake I made was basically after they were done, I put them on a side charcoal grill to sear them a little to get a bark, and I wasn’t paying attention and part of the top burned. Wish I hadn’t tried that, because otherwise they were perfect and fell off the bone. -
Getting a new grill— thinking about a Kamado

Finally got my grill and was able to try it out and smoked some baby back ribs. Wow. Can’t believe how well it works and how easy it was to control the temperature. That sucker stayed at 225 pretty much all day, with minor tweaks. And the lump charcoal Could have burned for like 3 weeks it seems. -
I just thought of a great pet peeve that seems to be a millennial parenting thing. I get called by my first name by little kids all the time. The parent says, “can you ask Mr. Pat” where the bathroom is? Drives me nuts. Show some respect. When I was a kid, you called grown ups by their last names. I still call my childhood friends parents’ by their last names, and order my kids to do the same. don’t call me “Mr. Pat.” It’s Mr. Morita to you, sonny.

welp, great career obviously! The big timers all seem to be calling it quits. I would expect Boeheim and maybe Huggins are close behind.

Good call. you know, right after that play happened, that thought crossed my mind. It had that same magic to it. -

I always thought that the blocked FG return was the defining watershed moment for that Bills team— it is what started the run. Since then, I have always waited for a similar play by the Bills that would signal the next great team. -
i love that song— probably hits my playlist once per week!!
