Roethlisberger - A Complete & Utter Moron!
Mister Defense replied to Glory Bound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That yahoo woman reporting this should have pressed charges. Would have showed her as the idiot in need of help, not Ben. We have all met people like that woman before, and they make the world a worse place than morons like Roethlisberger. -
Dennis Green's Son/ESPN Analyst Arrested
Mister Defense replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How is this in any way relevant to the Bills or the NFL?????? This board should not be like Entertainment Tonight is now, reporting every indiscretion, no matter the relevance. WHO CARES!?!! It is their busineess, means nothing to anyone on this board--or, rather, should not. -
M. Lynch ready to BALL in Buffalo
Mister Defense replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, you just keep going... Trashing the entire slate of quarterbacks in a message and now Lynch... As stupid as your comments about the quarterbacks on this team, and just as fact-based. Any Bills players you actually like, any that you will actually say have a chance to be good this year? Now I will say it defiitively--the kind of fan who gets upset when 'his' team wins, the kind that makes excuses for why that happened, the kind of fan that wants his team to lose late in the year for a better draft pick, and the kind of fan that leaves the game at the end of the 3rd quarter just to beat the traffic. I have little doubt about any of these things. Get a new team, bozo. -
Holy crap! One of the most negative posts ever. Seems like you would be unhappy if one of the quarterbacks turned out to play well this year. How can you be a Bills fan and be so closed mind and negative about our quarterbacks? Brohm is still an unknown, has never played in an NFL game, and Edwards has showed potential, albeit derailed by an unstable team. Fitzpartick has looked good at times as well, like a starting caliber quarterback. There is hope, is what I am saying, and it's not blind faith-- good new leadership on and off the field, talented players at several positions, and a new philosophy and attitude. BS that so many people are so pessissmistic about this team, the quarterbacks, and the future. This is going to be an excellent year for the Bills.

Which QB has looked the best so far and why
Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great point--a team that lets a few misguided yahoos on message boards make decisions for them is a team that will always be losing. Too often lately the fans have seemed to have that power--but now that we have actual football people running the show, we have returned to the Polian/Levy philosophy, where the outcry of some fans was taken as seriously as a little kid saying he wanted candy for dinner. Now we know that the best players will start again. Great news--and GO Edwards, who will be the key to the Bills success this year. -

Lynch excited to see how good jets will be
Mister Defense replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"It's going to be a great thing to see on paper, fantasy, live, in practice, in video games," Lynch said. "However you can see us get down to action and regardless of who the No. 1 is, even if I'm No. 5, it's going to be beautiful to watch us play." That is the last comment of Lynch's is the article; isn't this more telling than anything else in the article--the guy likes football, think that liking the Jets is going to make him play less hard against them?? Those last 9 words are what you should be focused on. -
I am sure there have many threads about aspects of this, but I just want a detailed summary of who looks the best and why. The article saying some positive things about the receivers makes me hopeful that the quarterbacks are also looking good--somebody is getting the ball to these guys, making them look 'dynamic' so far.

Brohm's Starting Chances in Buffalo
Mister Defense replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the spirit! One of those fans who root for the Bills to lose at the end of the year to get a better draft pick. To say none of these quarterbacks has the potential to be a solid starting quarterback is nonsense. And then Brohm, "completely written off" , compared to Bruce Mathison! -
New QB possibility? Free agent to be
Mister Defense replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
!!!!!!!! Brady is one of the worst looking quarterbacks I have ever seen play in the NFL. He cannot throw the ball down the field. Any time I have seen him try he has to give himself a full body wind up and looks more like a weak armed high school quarterback, or a man playing at a park with his family, than an NFL quarterback. He cannot even throw short passes well, has little zip or touch and seems to not be able to read defenses. Ridiculous idea, but probably will be supported by the 'throw the bum--TE--out' folks, the same ones who say Edwards cannot throw the ball down the field. But Edwards has a MUCH better arm than Quinn, in every respect. -
Nix/Gailey killed Lynch to the 'hawks for a 3rd
Mister Defense replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great response. They take their ridiculous position on Lynch and consider it valid because other yahoos support them--but there is nothing logical about getting rid of one of your best players, and a 24 year old, for a 3rd round pick. Shame on their ignorance for continuing to call for this, attempting to eliminate a player that has the potential to be a prennial pro bowler and a vital cog in the resurgence of this offense. Stupid is as stupid does... -
Bills "Nixed" Seattle Offer
Mister Defense replied to BuffaloinLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really well said. Yeah, and stupid people (sorry, only way to describe them..) keep trying to get rid of Lynch. So, finally we have an area of our team that may be one of the best in the NFL now--and they say we have too much there now, should trade it away. Dumb, dumb, dumb--only way to put it, as they just keep going, like they are bad fantasy football players. -
There is no QB competition as most think of one.
Mister Defense replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Almost no way that happens, that they go through starter after starter. Most of what he says indicates that Nix believes a major part of the problem with this offense--and this team--has been the lack of consistency and the irrational moves that have not enabled the Bills to field a consistent product. The quarterback (Edwards in my view) will be THE quarterback this year, come hell or high water. And to me, that is a good thing. -
Yeah, sounds like a good reason to cut a quarterback, spiking the ball on a 4th down (remember the game??). With logic like that you only support the poster's comments, are another example of the irrational mentaility of a group of "Throw the bum out" Bills fans. Collins would have been the stable, consistent force at quarterback that we, still, haven't found... Remember the first games he played in his second year, when Kelly was out? He was one of the most poised 2nd year quarterback I had ever seen, leading the Bills to long, sustained drives against Dallas, and standing in the pocket against great pressure. And the next year, leading the Bills to one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history. He was never given a chance here. BUT, he spiked the ball on a 4th down, so good reason to get rid of him? Ridiculous. I don't have the same kind of confidence in Edwards, but he definitely deserves an opportunity, and ditto for Lynch as well. The poster is right--we won't build a good team continuing on the same old path. I think Nix and Gailey, two older guys, are feeling the same way.

If Edwards is starting (*) then so is Marshawn.
Mister Defense replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but unfortunately it is also how the Bills have seemed to make their personnel decisions--running through good players, and so never creating a foundation of players on which to build the team. Trent Edwards had the following statistics in 2008: -an 85.4 rating -65.5% in pass completions And even last year, he completed over 60% of his passes and had a rating of 73.9. Edwards has not proved a failure to this point. He definitely should be able to compete for the starting job, which he will likely win. "Throw the bums out!" I wonder how many of the people calling for Edwards' head are also almost begging the Bills to throw Lynch out as well. (Anyone have some time to research?) Edwards and Lynch have the ability to evolve into high level starters. They may not. But enough of this nonsense, of calling for players' heads until they are booted out of town. I think we have two football guys in Gailey and Nix, finally, who won't be persuaded by irrational fans. -
Even Oakland is PWNING the Bills
Mister Defense replied to Curse Of Rusty Jones's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
JUMP, Please! -
The Bills need playmakers on offense and they took maybe the best offensive player in the draft. IF they also got rid of Lynch then it would be an illoigcal pick--why replace one potentially great running back with another one? Even with the character issues with Lynch, it would be a move that just keeps the Bills spinning their wheels. These are the weaknesses of Spiller listed by http://www.draftcountdown.com/ScoutingRepo...J-Spiller.php): "Does not have the size you'd prefer --- Isn't very physical --- Prefers to bounce everything outside --- Dances too much --- Won't pick up the tough yards --- Not much of a blocker --- Wasn't a workhorse in college and won't be able to carry the load in the NFL --- Durability's a concern. Lynch is the opposite type of runner: has the size, is extremely physical, thrives inside, picks up the tough yards, and is an every down runner, a workhorse. Lynch is the starting back, but Spiller will be on the field a lot as well, with Jackson getting some carries as well. Jackson is almost 30--only a bad team would draft someone like Spiller, not a clear starting running back, and get rid of the workhorse, their beast, giving up on him so soon. Spiller and Lynch will be a great combination, give the Bills one of the best running games in the NFL, one of the most dynamic.

ah! No way do the Bills take Tebow at 9--it would be, by almost anyone's standards, one of the biggest mistakes in the history of the franchise. Shoot, I don't think the Bills would take him if he was available in the THIRD round. A team with great needs would never take a prospect that almost all agree will struggle in the NFL--and one who will probably never pan out. Very unlikely that the guy who started this thread that ignorant--just going after a reaction. After all, we do have mandatory public education in this country.

Bills should go after Rothlisberger
Mister Defense replied to stroud99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Read Rooney's comments--Ben isn't going anyhere. Yes, the Bills would grab him instantly. But you don't give up one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and one in his 2os, for almost any reason. And they won't--and should not--for this. -
Stop it!!! Stop talking about trading away our our best players on this board!! Maybe someone is actually reading these things and using it as a part of their evidence for making decisions! (Okay, they aren't that stupid--I hope!) Lynch is one of our best players--and may, in the coming years, prove to be the best player on this team. How stupid can people be?? You don't trade away your most talented players.
-
Yes, I watched that game, was thinking the same thing. They just needed a good quarterback--clearly did not have one in Campbell, did have one in Collins. They, immediately, just as they did when Collins led them to the playoffs, looked like a good team! How could Snyder invest all that money in his team, have something soo valuable (a billion dollars?) and then not see what was right in fronf of his eyes?? I assume he is responsible for Campbell remaining as long as he did as the starter. But, look at some the responses after yours--same old crap! People calling for the Bills to bring in this not-even- backup-caliber-quarterback! Absurd. Maybe they have never seen Campbell play? Maybe they did not notice that whenever Collins replaced him, season or preseason, the Redskins looked like a very good team--after looking hapless with Campbell leading the way. Nix seems like the kind of guy who would want nothing to do with this overpaid, unprepared quarterback who can't read defenses, fumbles, has no touch, and is clearly incapable of leading a team to victories. I bet the same fans calling for Campbell are the same ones who called for Collins' head when he was here--same kind of logic.
-
That's it... Watch the guy... He doesn't know what he is doing, still looks like a rookie. I was completely shocked when Jim Zorn, a former quarterback who should know better, came in and did not start Todd Collins. For the first time in a looong time, at the end of the previous season the Redskins had looked like a very good team, one with the potential to go all the way. BUT it was only because Collins--and NOT Campbell--was leading the way. I thought the fans would go nuts when he chose Campbell over Collins. Hate cliche, but Campbell can't hold Collins' jockstrap (might fumble it) as far as far as talent and leadership are concerned. I remember watching the Redskins' playoff game and thinking that they now have a quarteback who looks smooth, confident, accurate, with touch, and one his teamates clearly felt could lead them to wins even against playoff caliber teams. In other, words, literally the opposite of how Campbell had looked. NO WAY would Campbell have led that team to the playoffs that year. Even though he is OLD, I would still, with no reservations, take Collins over Campbell. So, that is it for me--the eyes don't usually deceive: Jason Campbell simply has not even looked like a competent backup quarterback, let alone one who could 'win consistently or even occassionally'. Period. Yeah, and I agree with the Fitzpatrick analysis too, that he looks better than Campbell. I don't want him as the starting QB because of his apparent physical limitations, but would feel dramatically more comfortable with him as the backup than Campbell. Campbell looks like an unprepared backup now, buiding his stats in garbage time or via weak defenses, and that is with most of the reps in practice, with the first team. Could you imagine Campbell coming off the bench!?! Scary proposition.... Say what you want, but watch the guy--he is not a good NFL quarterback, and we would be better off without him.
-
A lot of money and a pick, a player with potential to actually help this team. Campbell SUCKS--his stats are deceiving; he is a loser as qb, and not merely because he has not had great team--he makes them look bad, worse than they are. NO MORE LOSER QUARTERBACKS! These 'get Campbell' threads (or any similar losing quarterbacks), just makes me think of the 2-14 seasons, with the Vince Ferragamo types brought in, giving us ZERO chance to be a competitive team. Wasting our time, money, draft picks, locker space, and uniform on quarterbacks who aren't good, is the worst thing the Bills can do this offseason, sidetracks us as much as anything else can.
