Most QB's try to put the ball in a trash can from 30 yards...Allen needs a garbage truck....
-
No offense taken but you honestly think Brady, Big Ben, Eli, adding Luck and Peyton are vanilla? All 5 usurped their coaching staff on numerous occasions. Groupthink is buying into the structure that coaches know all. I don't want Tannehill, Bortles, etc. That's what you are getting from Allen or Darnold. Give me a QB that cares enough to push back when they believe a coach who is wrong. Jim Kelly wasn't vanilla -- the great ones seldom are...Rosen cares..and will express his opinion. BTW, McDermott doesn't operate a team the top-down way. He lets and encourages players to have opinions. He took feedback last year after Taylor was benched for Peterman and admitted publicly and privately that he was wrong. Rosen is the best fit of the top 4 for this team, ownership, and structure. So I am not offended--I just think you are looking at this the wrong way. I am looking at it from a Football Perspective. I want a QB who works hard enough to input on strategy and is passionate about winning. I see that with Rosen.

We endured 17 years of no playoffs We endured 4 straight Super Bowl losses We endured a lot of freaking bad football over the last 58 years I want my payoff and I want it now..........Josh Rosen is that payoff in my mind. :-) This young man is the best fit for the team, the owners, the coaching staff and the city. We need a personality...not a cliche driven drone (Allen or Darnold) or a potential crazy convict (Mayfield)...

Go on the record -do the Bills trade up?

If Darnold, Rosen or Allen drops to 5, I think there will be a move up.... -
Am I the only one? I'll take any of the top 6 QBs
JoeF replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Beane, McDermott and the Pegulas and possibly Joe Schoen are the only ones who know, but I personally wouldn't be happy with any of the 6. I would have only 3 QBs with a first-round grade on the Bills board and the order is Darnold, Rosen and Allen. I think Mayfield's personality just isn't a good fit. There's a difference between independent thinking (Rosen) and breaking the law/work ethic issues (Mayfield). I think they are staying away from Mayfield. Those comparing Mayfield to Brees are misguided. Too many red flags for me...arrest, not studying for an interview, keeping a list of media members who dissed you. That's crazytown stuff.....not franchise leader. I think the Bills have targeted pick 5 or 6 and if one of the top 3 drops to 5 or 6 there will be a deal. I think they will give up next year's first and 3-32 (96) before they give up 1-22 to move up to 5 or 6. McDermott has told Beane he needs an ILB, WR, C/G and OT to play and Beane will keep capital to get McDermott what he needs. I posted that a friend of mine covered the Senior Bowl and heard good things from players about the impression of the Bills leadership. That has continued through the pre-draft process. There is a positive buzz about Buffalo billieve it or not. -

Mike Silver: Back2Campus with Josh Rosen
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Josh Rosen (with his uncle Jay Rosen as a superfan) can lead us to a Lombardi, but who am I? I would love Josh R. on the Bills. -
Mike Silver: Back2Campus with Josh Rosen

Good profile piece. I know folks are quick to criticize Silver but his story on Kim Pegula was really top notch and he is a hysterical twitter follow. Speaking of Kim, you gotta think she finds an open-minded, tennis playing QB a good fit for her and Terry's team. Thanks for sharing 26CB... -
There are so many posters deserving of this honor. 26CB and Yolo for their amazing work to keep us all informed. DC Tom for his love for us all -- our own Dr. Phil. Mead, Augie, Gug,.....the list goes on and on...but whether its concussions, completion percentage, ball security, prior arrest record..they all have a flaw...damn..this is a hard choice....

Do we have the worst starting offensive line in the league?
JoeF replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can look at this any way you want -- but the Bills have starting experience at every position. Dawkins - 11 Games and accounted well at LT Miller- Natural LG with 2 full seasons at RG Bodine - 4 years in Cincy Ducasse - Starter Mills - Starter Groy and Newhouse Granted the only potential star I see is Dawkins. However, Miller was developing well until the system was changed and this system may be a better talent fit. They have the draft - and this is a deep tackle and guard class with guys like Geron Christian, Martinas Rankin, Scott Quessenberry, Bradley Bozeman (Daboll's C at Alabama) and Joseph Noteboom available in the 3rd and 4th round. So the later rounds aren't normal camp fodder for O-Line in this draft. Then we will have post draft cuts. I am choosing to be a bit more optimistic, just like I am at Linebacker. Where, I think they have a deal in place with Dansby that he can shop until draft day (Minter and Compton already signed elsewhere but Dansby has not)..but I wouldn't be surprised if next Saturday afternoon they announce a deal with Dansby whether they get a LB or not. A young MLB like Jack Cichy or Josey Jewel (assuming we are drafting one in the 3rd or 4th) will need a mentor. -

Daniel Jeremiah & Bucky Brooks: Josh Rosen Podcast
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cocky rich kid, born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. Keep his damn opinions to himself. Selfish mother!@#$er. Will melt like a popsicle in the desert the first time he is really hit and/or when he sees the throwing windows in the NFL. Did I cover all the detractors? Sounds perfect for the Bills. We'll have him jumping through tables in no time. He'll fall in love with the Buffalo girl and it will be all over... -

Here's what I am hearing: Darnold- Family has been secretly housing Cato Kaelin for the last 20 years Rosen-Peed and farted in the hot tub Mayfield - Couldn't outrun the Dunkin' Donuts baker who was chasing the police officer who tackled Mayfield Allen-Closet cow tipper Jackson-hanging out with Rick Pitino Rudolph - Thinks Mike Gundy's mullet is cool All will be available at 22 after Bills select Smith (LB UGA) at 12

Seattle postpones Kaepernick workout b/c of kneeling?
JoeF replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He and Reid both said they would stand but then backed off that when asked by the Seahawks (Kap) and Bengals (Reid). I mentioned this before. About 2 months ago, I was on a plane and sat across the aisle from Eric and Justin Reid's grandfather. We had a great conversation. He was one of the first African American PhD's from an Ivy league school (Psychology) and I loved talking to him. His sons were both star athletes at LSU and Eric and Justin are both great athletes. I asked him about kneeling and he thoughtfully said its not what he would have done but he loves his grandson and respects his decision. He said he faced a lot of racial turmoil in his life but also realized from his travels to China and other places (as an emissary of the US Government for Education) that this country afforded him opportunities no other country would have. He also said he does want Eric and Kap to use their stature to help address societal ills. Grandpa calls Eric after every game with a critique. It was hysterical to hear some of the feedback he gives...it was an awesome conversation. -
"We have several options we are actively exploring" "We are open for business to move up, down, around and through" "We are excited we are going to add a lot of talent" "We look at every position and add talent where we can" "We were evaluating OL talent before Richie retired. Its fair to say the sense of urgency of that evaluation ramped up a bit" "We like all of the top QBs" "Like every draft there are areas of depth and areas of scarcity. We take that into account in building the board." "Sal, Vic, Joe, John, Josh, etc.......Now why would I tell you that 10 days before the draft?"
