Smith was so wide open on the long TD pass at the Cap two weeks ago that he got lonely....there's blown coverage and then there is BLOWN coverage. He's also got some toughness...would welcome him..

A really good, honest assessment John. I agree its a tough situation right now. The Bills should have won this past Sunday. Tyrod played mostly well enough to win--but third downs were mostly bad which is a killer. A healthy Shady makes those third downs more manageable in most cases where a Tyrod scramble is a solid option to pick up the first. The D's inability to tackle and get off the field was a killer. This is a third down league.. the Bills couldn't convert and Miami didn't face a lot of them because of their success on 1st and 2nd down. The one thing that I really like about this team as opposed to some of what I observed in the past is that there aren't a lot of distractions around them. Past trips to Buffalo we have stayed where the team stayed the Saturday night before a game and there were all kinds of distractions -- this hotel -- the motor lobby, the check in lobby, the lobby bar were clean (except for youth hockey teams)..we saw probably half the squad in one form or another that night...all business.. Exactly the opposite of what I would expect with Rex. A really tight, focused ship.

Thank you for your service. Nothing you could ever post outweighs the fact that you serve your country and us with distinction and pride. Tyrod has not improved this year ..he hasn't taken the step up to address his main weaknesses (inability to complete reads quickly; tentative throwing over the middle; bad accuracy at inopportune times). Also, defenses have adjusted to what he does well so it looks like a regression. I think even the most ardent Tyrod fan will acknowledge these issues. I am a big Tyrod fan. My daughter and I actually got to talk with him for a moment before he went to Chapel at the team hotel on the Saturday night before the San Francisco game. He could not have been a nicer guy. Humble, genuine, serious -- but he is small and slight, very slight...that concerns me....he will never be the classic drop back passer and he likely will never be a franchise QB but a guy who can caretake a really good team to the playoffs...he is in a position right now where the situation with injuries is demanding that he do more than he is capable of and that means the Bills are likely in line for a bad stretch of games.

Interesting contract situations with both Zach Brown and Lorax...Bills have Rookies fairly cheap at both positions but it would definitely be worth keeping both Zach Brown and Lorax around next year. Lorax is playing for just under $900K this year and Zach is playing for $1.25M. Bills are going to carry over a bunch of cap to next year -- give them both raises to $3 M each this year and add a year at another $3-4M each (non guaranteed)....it would send a great message to the team...

Adolphus had by far his best game. His quickness off the snap is special. Really impressed with Jerel Worthy as well. Lorax and Zach Brown both tackle with ferocity and fundamentals. Bills have developed a lot of depth across the front 7...when Lerentee McCray is making plays you know the Bills are rolling..Shaq and Dareus will be huge additions to a really good core. This has been nothing short of an astounding turnaround...One game at a time.. Bills fans have been teased like this before a couple of times in the 16 year playoff drought...just trying to stay calm week to week.

Bills have a hell of a field events team....challenge the Pats to a track meet on Sunday and the Bills are golden...Hunter also is a 7' 3" or better high jumper..and a really good triple jumper...TN is no slouch track program and he excelled. This is one helluva an athlete...there is a huge opportunity for he, Woods, Powell and Goodwin...step up guys...

Bills should continue to draft a QB a year for at least the next two years. The Bills need to stock the position with youth and high ceiling potential. Depending on how this year turns out -- the 17 draft could be a year to draft early (1st or 2nd) (class appears to be deep - could get quality in the early 2nd) and then draft a QB in the in later rounds for 18. If Tyrod continues to be average or below this season -- renegotiate the deal to reduce and delay the guaranteed money and keep him for next year. He and his agent will be willing to do this if they can collect $8-9 million or so next year after an average or below average year. That's the great thing about the renegotiated Tyrod deal-- the Bills have a lot of leverage. No matter what the Bills do -- Tyrod is good starter plan for next year. If he turns it on the last 13 games -- then guarantee the contract for the next two as the deal allows. Bringing in a vet like Romo does not make sense -- Bills need to go young and healthy..My opinion is if the Bills are going to suck the next two years (like I think the Bills are......in the range of 3-13 to 6-10) then do it with a solid eye to the future for the most important position.

Dear Diary: Shad Khan was at practice today. I know he sees the great job I am doing with the OL. I think he even winked at me today when he was having trouble with his contact lens. I am going to grow a handlebar just like his to make it obviously obvious I am all in. I continue to stab my Gus Bradley voodoo doll with long pins at night. I know its working. Gus can't even look me in the eye anymore. I keep writing Interim Head Coach on my note pad during staff meetings...I think Gus saw me do it in this week's meeting. He called me into his office the other day and he caught me eyeballing whether my couch would fit where his credenza now sits. Won't be long know... My personal view is Rex is a buffoon....but hell yes I want him to win -- I hope he gets a ticker tape parade and the key to the city after the season. The only thing I really care about is can he coach...the D showed me something last week and the last two weeks of the 2015 season. Despite being without several first line players the last 3 games -- Rex has the D performing well and playing his style of controlled aggression in the pure 46. I hope it continues. So if the improvement in the D is an indication the man can coach I would urge us to have patience. What are 6-10 and 7-9 -- those would be Ron Rivera's records the first two years with the Panthers; Marvin Lewis had losing records 5 of his first 6 seasons with the Bengals -- these are two teams similar to the Bills in terms of franchise market and value -- patience with the head coach was rewarded.. there may be a lesson in there somewhere..

I think they should just make Brady play one game where the officiating crew calls the game like he is Cam Newton instead of Tom Brady.....there would already be fines, suspensions, banishing and possible executions of Wade's defenders if Brady was the QB that took those shots on Thursday night.
