I really don't know what people saw in Darnold last year that makes them think he's so far ahead of Allen.

I mean, if they really wanted him they probably would have drafted him over Sweeney. But hey if Sills can be another Foster I ain't gonna question their methods.

No, I was speaking more toward the post you were responding to and agreeing with yours.

A lot of people seem to be misinterpreting "30 spots ahead of the next available player" to mean "30 spots ahead of where he was drafted." What is likely is that they had Singletary ranked somewhere around 55-60 and some guys they had ranked a bit lower were taken a little earlier than the Bills had them, as happens all the time once you get passed the first round and a half or so.

Lol @ Kyle's voice when he has to say "Buffalo's big, tall... strapping quarterback." You can hear just the slightest twinge of "I don't want to read this." Poyer is getting repped hard in this video. We signed him to a four-year, $13 million contract. Sheesh that's some value. Think his agent is working on an extension?

By the end of the draft, boards are all over the place and you're really not taking a guy in the 7th with that much more conviction over the eventual UDFAs. That said, they did seem to have some conviction about him. You wonder if maybe they thought there was a better chance getting him after the draft than the guys they did draft, or maybe they also had higher grades on those guys too.

Love that they had Kyle narrate.

Allen is built like Cam, but if he can play like Russell with that build he would be one of the greatest to play the game.

Well one of these days maybe we'll enjoy a longer Bill's season... I do feel the same way, but that's kind of what makes the sport great. I am excited every Sunday, because the season is so short. 18 isn't a big deal but it may dilute the product some. At the same time, the added games and forcing players to miss at least 2 games a year can help with minor injuries throughout the season.

The player restriction is an interesting layer but I think the 16 game season is fine the way it is.

Picked him up down the stretch last season. Didn't win the ship but he helped me after a lousy season at the QB position. We do keepers and I would get him as my last round pick, but I think I'm going to keep Juju in the 6th and target Allen in the late rounds.

Guys the moral of the story is, if you have ever wanted to try football journalism, you can probably do it.

The tide seems to be turning though. Goff, Wentz, Mahomes, Watson, Baker and of course Josh Allen, among others... seems like we have a nice crop of young QBs taking over the league. Still some puzzlers - and there always will be - but compared to the years of Bortles, Manziel, Teddy, Winston, Mariota, it looks like we have some winners again.
