Teams are certainly more privy to what's going on behind the scenes versus what the media is told. If Shady wasn't buying in, the team knows that even if we don't. Plus, after trading Sammy and Darby, benching Tyrod, etc. none of this comes as a shock. And yet the team overall still feels very all-in and like a family so McDermott is doing his job. Not worried about mistrust.

True. We have TEs that can make those contested catches and block (theoretically, at least) if we needed that. But you're right that it is not how our offense is built.

Eh, haven't really seen enough of him to have a strong opinion, but my impression is that he's been working hard and making his case. Being a 2nd year draft pick probably gives him an edge over Pitts, but he could also be the one to go if they really do wanna bring back Captain week 2.

How often these days are we seeing rookies (and not just first rounders) step right in and contribute? It's just not a position that deserves premium pay.

I think to target Gordon after letting Shady go would make little sense. You're going to have to pay him more than you were paying Shady and I already think that's a non-starter for them.

How many players do we have left to cut?

Yeah, if Foster was cut from the team twice and still made it back to us I think there is a reasonable chance we can stash Duke too. Just a bit of a surprise because he was the only "big" receiver, made some great contested grabs AND blocked well.

Even if Shady finds a good spot and has a good season, as long as our backs are playing well too, then it doesn't really matter. I am still a little skeptical of the move but trusting these guys.

McD has absolutely done his job creating a great team culture. Joe is right - and it's what I've been saying this year too - if they were right about Josh Allen, we can contend starting this year.

Yup. I was looking at a lot of those guys for late round flyers and they all got scooped. The RB situation this year is odd. I was wrong for thinking a lot of the mid-tier guys would be there later because of the uncertainty. Oh well. This year my goal is to stress less about it because too much of it is out of my hands.

Appreciate the feedback! All of those backs were drafted and much earlier than I would have liked. And the Boys D was taken at the top of 13... someone had some conviction about that stream! I can't take a D that early, personally. I'm hoping that Singletary and Henderson get a reasonable amount of touches, but as of now I'd be starting White and Brieda. Both will probably get more than 0 points week 1 and I can ride the rest of my squad.
