  1. Remember that the next time McDermott makes a questionable time management move and the Bills end up losing the game.
  2. It's certainly a possibility. He also could be the best kicker of all time. Seriously, anyone's "feelings" (with no further explanation) are fairly worthless now. It will depend on how he does on the big stage, with players from the opposing team charging in on him. I'll choose to remain cautiously optimistic.
  3. But awesome when properly made. They taste much better than those fruity scarfs.
  4. Thanks, Hap. Unfortunately no Facebook account here. I told a few friends about it and I believe they ordered. So I'll see if they can join the "effort for info"* campaign. * What a lame name, Dino.
  5. I can't believe I have never heard that before.
  6. Once again, they are NOT talking about a fitted mask. As crazy as this sounds, this is actually closer to what they are talking about than a fitted mask. Special cloth spread over the existing face mask, creating a shield.
  7. I'm actually a bit less concerned about that than I am for the "rush to manufacture" once a vaccine is approved.
  8. And if someone attempted to make a TV series (or start some other useless money making scheme) concentrating on jumping through tables, getting completely smashed and acting stupid (think a Bills-centric WorldStar) I'd have no use for that either. Is this really that hard for you to understand?
  9. Why in the world do you think I'm jealous? Dunno where that comes from. I just have no use for the purveyors of low-brow stupidity. And I don't apply the label of "genius" to someone just because they are rich, were successful with one idea, etc. So you believe the XFL (2nd addition) was destined for success until the shutdown? Any data to back up that opinion? Just curious.
  10. I almost think there would have to be different standards for penalties, or different rules altogether for the play. That's a non-starter for me.
  11. For s#it's sake, NOT the face masks many of you are thinking of. Helmets already have face masks, They are talking about putting some kind of covering on them (think "shield" not mask),. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-testing-n95-surgical-mask-material-on-modified-face-masks-in-hopes-of-fighting-covid-19-spread/ Is this really that confusing to you guys?
  12. Because, by definition sitcoms, movies and plays are NOT REAL. They are pure entertainment. I had to figure that out for you? What McMahon deals in is like the fake "reality shows". Pretending to be real, but you know they are manipulated. I'm not sure why anyone watches that trash. It's up to them if they do, but don't confuse it with actual reality. Unfortunately many do.
  13. I absolutely hate it. But if the clock starts running, I hate it less. I think a minor tweak with the offensive/defensive lineups would be a wiser option.
  14. Edison was partly con-man, but also may have been a genius. (the two aren't mutually exclusive). He didn't just have ONE idea and ONE success, that he kept trying to monetize. He had MANY ideas. Some failed. No problem. Failure is important, IF you acknowledge the failure and learn from it. Tesla was a genius---and perhaps a bit crazy. He was a terrible marketer. McMahon is entirely reliant on his WWF (fake sport for stupid people) success. Even with his first XFL he tried to push the garbage "entertainment" factors before considering the important SPORTS aspect. He is completely wrong for a truly "minor league" for the NFL. That should be run as close to the NFL as possible. The NFL might want to experiment a bit with it, but the WWF nonsense has no place in it. I'm all for transparent honesty and integrity.
  15. That's a pretty fine line of distinction, IMO. Marketing (almost by definition) = con, IMO. He's marketing GARBAGE A fake sport. Tell me how many other ventures he's succeeded with. Let's start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_McMahon#Other_business_dealings Being successful once is hardly genius--again, IMO. In order to keep this thread from PPP I'll refrain from bring up the obvious example to compare him to.
  16. I think that is PART of the explanation. But Josh didn't run with the same reckless abandon last year, as he did as a rookie, IMO. He was smarter while running (to protect his health, I imagine) which resulted in fewer yards, IMO. Defenses probably played a part, as well.
  17. Now there's a word that's become so watered-down it's almost meaningless. In what way is he a "genius?. Is he currently working on a cure for the Coronavirus? I understand there are various kinds of intelligence, but con-man intelligence doesn't qualify as "genius" in my book.
  18. Awesome! A complete POS human, who has already failed with TWO football leagues wants to resurrect another! Awesome! I'd love a "minor league" for the NFL, but I hope they steer well clear of trash like McMahon who knows NOTHING of legitimate sports and is only concerned with theatre, as far as I can tell. A-holes with money screw a lot of things up.
  19. Thanks. Wish I could have been to one of them. I love Yosemite. Only been there a couple times.
  20. This has to be sarcastic. Twice a year? How about twice a day? Or Thursday before the game, again on Saturday and before the start of the game? And again maybe Monday or Tuesday (depending on how long it takes from acquisition) to testing positive. And then the cycle begins again. There is nothing that is going to be perfect, or even close. Hell the solutions we are all using now aren't perfect and it will be worse for players playing a violent sport. Caveat: I have zero inside info here. But based on what I'm reading, they are grabbing at straws to think of something to REDUCE the risk. Masks (as we currently use) are completely impracticable and they will probably be dislodged several times a game. I'm guessing far more often than helmets coming off. Think of the enhanced face mask as one effort to stop the transmission. Guys are face to face, grunting and sweating. Would you rather have a face mask with some special anti particulate covering, or with nothing at all? BTW, this is one of the reasons I think it's crazy to play the games even without fans until we have more information, more testing and tracking available. If sports leagues move forward (as I expect they will) we should just KNOW some players will test positive going forward and some of them will transmit it on the practice field or during the game. I suppose we can decide how many deaths we will tolerate as a society in order to watch football going forward.
  21. Where is this particular Strawberry (Park, I'm guessing)? I initially thought it might be CT, as they have a Strawberry Park Bluegrass Festival, but those trees look like west coast.
  22. I pretty much find the term "Superstar" useless in the discussion of talent. Yes, some so-called superstars are very talented. But IMO the term is typically used to recognize celebrity. To truly be considered one you have a huge advantage if you play in a large media market, self promote, crave media exposure, etc. Diva's have the inside on the Superstar label. Like the label "Rock Star" it actually says little about the person's musical talent. So I think we simply need to know if Diggs will be a great player, a true #1 WR. Leave the stardom out of this. Diggs has already proven to be a great #1 WR, so "emerge" isn't relevent here either. Will Diggs continue to be a great #1 WR in Buffalo? I suppose that is a legit question.
