  1. A: It's the asking price. Let's see if it gets sold at that price. B: I'm guessing the land value is the most valuable part of that sale. I also wonder if there is rumor of some developer looking at that area, and the seller is trying to set an early (outrageous) price. Just a thought. Could be the seller is simply being unrealistic.
  2. Excellent point. But I hope you, and other stressed parents, at least find a place to secure the cart so it doesn't roll out into the parking lot aisle, parking space or vehicle. I think there is a decent argument for leaving them in the corrals. If everybody brought back their carts (as I do in normal times) it might cost jobs for those paid to retrieve them.
  3. Hopefully that's what you really meant. They put plenty of "sick" people in nursing homes. My mother has end stage Alzheimer's, plus other conditions. She was moved from Assisted Living into a nursing home, because she is too sick for the ALS.
  4. That looks like a really well made (and baked) pie. I'll bet the outer crust could be eaten just like delicious warm airy bread. On pizza like that, I love the naked outer crust. Sometimes I wait and eat the outer crust with a little dish of good olive oil. Unfortunately too many pizzas have dry cardboard outer crusts. On those, I'd prefer they just sauce the entire top. I'd say "just avoid those sub-par pizzas" but that's hard to do where I live. Actually what I can get is a decent Bar Pie. Those tend to to be sauced completely and cooked to crispy. https://www.google.com/search?q=pizza+bar+pie&sxsrf=ALeKk03JBirm61pmG12brujNQSnNRh91GQ:1593969255138&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi7yfCZzrbqAhVsm-AKHVUVDDAQ_AUoAXoECDcQAw&biw=1600&bih=757 I wonder if J&J's Southside is still open in Huntington Station (on Long Island)? They had a killer bar pie.
  5. It might be baked or fried in a pan, but it is definately not overcooked or burnt. Most USA pizzerias seriously under cook their pies. There should be some char on the crust (outer and bottom) in a "properly cooked" pizza. That's why I typically order my pizza "very well done and crispy". Just google napoli italy pizza and take a look at the images. You will see how dark most of the pizzas are around the edges. With that said, the Harvest pizza doesn't look like it was baked traditionally (coal fired or wood burning, very high temperature oven). But it looks nice and crispy. Of course the half with all that crap on it (pineapple again? ? ) is an abomination.
  6. While the outer and bottom crust are made from the same dough, I've had plenty of pies where the outer crust if very good, but the bottom crust is soggy in the middle. This isn't due to the dough, but rather the oven temperature, I think. Maybe a few other factors, too. But to really cook a pizza properly it helps to have a REALLY hot oven. Many places don't have ovens that reach a high enough temperature to keep up when they are busy. Opening them up to put in, take out pizza and rearrange pizzas cools down the oven. If the oven isn't seriously hot to begin with, you end up with the bottom crust being soggy, especially toward the center of the pie. And every ingredient is important. You have a great crust but horrible sauce, or fake cheese or crappy pepperoni and you don't have a good pizza, IMO.
  7. While they now say you are far less likely to contract the virus from a surface, it is still possible. But my point is, if the establishment claims to sanitize the carts before putting them in the queue: 1. They should sanitize the cart before putting it in the queue. 2. I'm going to respect that and not just push a cart, unsanitized, into the queue. I'm not OCD or a real germophobe, but many others are. Plus I have a healthy (hopefully) respect for this Coronavirus and I'm not going to pretend it's "just the flu".
  8. They don't call it Flushing for nothing!
  9. I almost always return my cart to inside the store, before the pandemic, I'd simply push into the other carts waiting to be used. If it's raining or I'm in an extreme hurry, I might bring it to the corral. The thing I NEVER do, and get pissed when I see it, is leave the cart in the parking space or anywhere where it could roll into it. People who do that are indefensible morons. Even they could place the cart somewhere where it won't roll, or get into the way of traffic and parking. During this pandemic, I usually leave it outside the store (corral or just outside the door) so it will be sanitized before another person uses it, or give it directly to the person sanitizing carts (if there is one). I see people putting carts back into the queue (where the sign says "Carts sanitized" or something to that effect) and then just walk away. I despise idiots like that. I was at a Winn Dixie a couple weeks ago and the employee standing right next to the Carts Sanitized sign was just pushing carts into the the queue. Not sanitizing them at all, and not hiding it. I decided to report him to the manager. I made a point to make sure he knew I did it, too. Normally I'd be upset at getting someone in trouble or fired. I had NO such feelings that time. I almost wanted to say, "He's doing this in plain view. How could you NOT see it. You ALL should be fired." But I didn't go that far.
  10. Recently I've made my bedtime snack/dessert mixed melon chunks (always some watermelon) with their juices and drizzled with a bit of vodka. When I'm done eating the melon, I stick the bowl in the freezer for a bit. Then drink the ice cold vodka melon shot (or three). I'm hooked!
  11. Don't even joke about pineapple on (or in) a pizza.
  12. I too did not realize you took those photos,. When did you take them? I ask only because I notice the Bison aren't wearing masks.
  13. The tubing and/or stitching are probably the way I'll go if I decide to do anything. The only reason I'd bother to fix it now, is because it is a little classier than the standard KN95 and cloth masks I have. Maybe a "special occasion" mask? ?
  14. I can probably just use a safety pin on one side. BTW, I went ahead and made a second (smaller) donation.
  15. One thing NASCAR probably should have done a bit better was to be more careful in their public statement. There initial statements seem to suggest little doubt that something hinky was going on. A toned down reporting of an event, and an investigation, might have been more prudent. It also might have spared Wallace from the moronic trolling and all the Bubba Smolett nonsense.
  16. The report I heard last night on SportsCenter from their NASCAR reporter is that it was a noose. The other pulls were not nooses. The FBI said they would have found what they found suspicious and would have acted the same as NASCAR by investigating. Just repeating what I heard. Should have gotten the reporter's name.
  17. You seem to be very confused about what I am asking. I'm NOT asking what it looks like. Every one of your responses to me completely misses the point. My question remains, why was this ONE handle marked as suspicious if it was so common. Maybe it wasn't where it usually was (like hanging from the garage door) or differed in some other, suspicious way. BTW, there is this: https://www.espn.com/racing/nascar/story/_/id/29357584/bubba-wallace-nascar-investigating-hate-crime-know-know-fbi-findings It is still being investigated by NASCAR.
  18. I have absolutely zero idea what the hell you are talking about. Do you? Yes, so my question is, what made this so odd? i'm not pushing any theory or agenda. Just seems bizarre. Maybe the noose came loose and was lying on a bench or something? Just looking for some reasonable explanation as to why all this went down.
  19. OK, nearly two months after requesting my mask it was delivered. The pictures I took are apparently too large to post. Maybe I'll reduce them and post them another day. The mask seems to be nice and of decent quality. It isn't bad looking either. This mask inside liner was a bit too large for the mask itself, and has a big fold right where your nose goes. If I could actually wear the mask (more on that later) I'm thinking it might be the weird thing on your nose you can't get rid of. Maybe it is no issue whatsoever. Still it looks like a second you'd find in an outlet store. When I tried it on for the first time. I noticed it was way too big. Then I discovered it was adjustable. Awesome. When I tried to adjust it, one of the plastic loops that changes the length of the ear straps was completely cracked and useless. So until/unless I devise a new adjustment mechanism, the mask is useless to me. Which is fine. When I ordered it I had no mask. Now (two months later) I have several. No I'm not sending it back. It was "free" and it took two months to arrive. But I'm probably not donating a second time, as planned. I feel bad for Dhvani as I suspect they got in over their heads and are now just pumping out stuff without much QC. Obviously this might be a great marketing tool--it should be. But I think this might backfire on them, in the end. Given the poor quality, why would I buy something from them for a lady friend?
  20. MadDog was it's street nickname. It stands for Mogen David. It was 20% alcohol back in the day in Niagara Falls. I guess in some places it was lower in proof. On nights when one would drink Ripple, they went "Ripplin'". "I got Rippled last night"
  21. Not to prolong this but one has to ask. If the "noose" was hanging from the garage door, why did it look suspicious to ANYONE? Wouldn't other garages (at least some) have similar pulls? One would expect something was odd/different about this one. Maybe few garages use them anymore and the person who discovered it was a newbie and unfamiliar with what it was? I'm just trying to search for a legitimate explanation that doesn't dissolve into conspiracy theory.
  22. Agreed. What an idiotic statement. The entire thing was, in the end, a good thing. The reported threat (I guess) was found to be an innocent mistake. Nevertheless, NASCAR banded together to backup the only African American currently driving. What reason is there to be disappointed ?
