Would Buffalo try to sign him to a contract that is reasonable? What CB? -
Leodis McKelvin's Contract Breakdown

Cntract is much more manageable...the only issue is what his signing bonus was. Terms are good. -
Get Seattle on the phone, Sidney Rice might be available!
djp14150 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live in the Seattle market..... Seattle didnt do this to trade sidney Rice.... they did this move in part to prevent SF from getting him, and it adds an element to their offense and complements Rice. The issue now is with Baldwin and and Golden Tate. Both are in the last year of their contracts so effectivly this year could involve trading one of them or them playing out to see who is resigned. The team is playing to win now. they can absorb a contract for Percy Harvin now because of their cap space and they have a bunch of starts still on cheap EL contracts. Next season is when cap casualties could happen with them. -
This wouldnt have happened....this was a brotherly love discount where he was willing to accept a trade to a competitive team. Since Baltimore plays them next year during the regular season there was no way in hell they would trade him to Buffalo and come back to beat them. He was only going to a team that they were not facing next season.

Now San Fran has their #1 (31) and KC #2 (34). at last count they have 15 picks in this draft so they arent drafting 15 players. They will be more inclinded to use them to trade up or trade for future picks. What I would propose if I was Buffalo.... To BUF: SF 1st round, high 3rd round (from Carolina) and one of their 6th round TO SF: BUF #1 in 2014 An add on to this would be conditional 2014 picks could go either way of the BUF pick is a top 10 pick, and more to SF if BUF makes the playoffs, thus pick 20-32. If you assume Buffalo would be 14-18 in draft order next year, the value of that pick is around 1000 pts while the point totals of these picks equates to around 900 pts.

[please fix subject]Linebacker
djp14150 replied to unpaid_bills34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OL is not a need for them in the first round. Even if Levitre isnt signed, a guard can be found off the street for cheap. They can also draft one. You balance where your needs are and where the player is rated in your internal player rankings, also taking into account what your team needs are and depth at the position in the draft. Drafting the best despite your need is also dumb. A team that has 2 good RBs doesnt put a high pick on another RB. -
Why does everyone think Matt Ryan is a top 6 QB?
djp14150 replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a good QB. You cant equate playoff team to QB. It matters the players around him. He gained his credit for being able to win close games with winning them in the final minutes. Atlanta had a lucky season. They finished 13-3 but they easily could have been 9-7. 9 of their 13 wins were close games that a play here/there could have been losses. -
I live on the west coast. Watched quite a bit of PAC 12 football as well as saw a good number of Kaepernack games. When I saw Kaep play I saw something in him.....the only issue was that I couldnt tell in watching the games was how his arm strength translated to the Pros and throwing Pro style routes. This QB from Arizona didnt scare you. Remember he was stuck behind Nick foles in the program so he had only one year playing starter. He would have probably benefited from another year as starting Q with Arizona. As it is he is slated more as a 5th round pick. Given his performance at the combine he may go up into the 4th. But I dont see the 3rd round.

Lt played 8 years of 300+ carrier. He started at 22-29 yrs old. Then he fell off. Alexander///also did 300+ carries from 2000-2005. He turned 29 at the start of the 2006 yr and his production fell. injuries was a big factor here. With FJ He had his best avg in 2011 before his injury killed the season in week 11. He was 30 in that season. Last year he had more injuries, plus recovering from his 2011 injury tends to take longer than a yr to get back to 100% old form.
-
It is NOT age---it is carries + injuries. You take a young RB and run him 300+ times from 21-25 he will be the same as a 30+ yr old back. Its even more so taking into account what kind of hits they get based on their running style. so a power back this will be harder.

What i think they should be doing is have the players in pads and helmet when they run the 40. The other think Id like to see is WRs and CBs , without having contact do pattern running/defending.

Garrett Gilkey - OT - Chadron State
djp14150 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was trying to remember what Bill player went to Chadron State when I heard about that on NFL netwoek. -
Who will be out there and who do you think Buffalo will go after and try to sign? Bowe? Welker?

Bills to let David Nelson walk?
djp14150 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree ---there was no reason to let him walk. A contract would have been minimal and not guarenteed since he would have to make the final cut. The one thing He did have was size. -
the 7th in 2013 was for TJ the QB. It could have been hiher based on TJs playing and being on the active roster.

Could This Scenario Play Out In B/Lo ?
djp14150 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wont command that money as a guard. Outside of some crazy teams you dont pay a guard tackle money. With Byrd you franchise him. Levitre you negotiate something around 4/$23-$25M -
Carson Palmer could be a cap casualty in Oakland because of their horrendous cap situation.

Richard Sherman: I'm proof the draft process is a sham
djp14150 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely correct....I have said stuff similar before. This isnt just with the draft but with all talent evaluation like with UFA siggnings. Looks at Sabres Tyler Myers...this year he has $10M price tag on his head and its affected his play. Part of it is the pressure of expectations and part of it is thinking you earned the money so you can forget what got you there. In NFL especially the system/talent around you/coaching does matter. There are too many examples of players who were great with one team suck with the next and people who were ok before become great with the new team. An example with the Bills and the CB they drafted from LSU---Brooks--in college at LSU he was behind 2 top 10 CBs drafted. Thus being in such a system he was devalued because of his role. He could have opted to transfer to another school and be a #1 CB and his draft prospects likely put him much higher in the draft. -
Actually if its wider you are likely going to have players more spread out so in theory the chances of the mega receiver hits wont be as frequent.

Great article ranking free agents..Rotoworld
djp14150 replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Byrd will get franchised---one of the cheapest franchise level positions. Levitre should be signed because of his versatility and health. a Guard in this league is easily replaceable. You dont want to pay him too much....then it will throw the rest of their OL out of whack in terms of salary. Your LT is what should be earning the most money. As for UFAs they go out and shop for.... look for them to go after Bowe or Wallace (if neither franchised) look for then to possibly acquire Revis--if not they will look at CB lmaybe Talib. look for them to get a LB from the Jets oir Ravens who is a free agent/cap casualty.. -
deadspin posted an article on injury reporting and how teams seemed to over or under evaluate their players. Bills were one of the 8 teams they questioned in their reporting. http://deadspin.com/5976467/nfl-2012-which-teams-actually-had-injuries-and-which-teams-just-lied-on-the-injury-report?tag=Regressing

NFL threatens man who trademarked "Harbowl" last year
djp14150 replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I said before.... they tried to trademark the BIG GAME slogan but they backed off.Cal-Berkely and Stanford fought them on this as well as other companies. they backed off. -
Trading a #1 is nuts. He will be a UFA in 2014 so Buffalo can wait and sign him for nothing then. The jets have serious salary cap issues they need to address.
