Actually...no....if they saw the kid as more of a project but with an upside you release him very early teams think he must suck so not contact him. Then you can get him to your PS.

For the game of the 53...only 46 can dress (46th being a 3rd QB). That means 7 dont dress for the game.... Which 7 do you think? i guess: 1. QB Jackson 2. LB White 3. RB Choice 4. OT Young 5. CB Brooks (or his roster replacement if on IR) 6 .LB Morrison 7. FS Howell

Bradham taking first team reps

The other aspect of this....you can only dress 45 of the 53 for the game. (plus a 46th emergency QB).....Bradham will be dressed for his special teams play. Its possible they dont dress Morrison if he doesnt play special teams. -

I think just like with the D-line they want to set up a rotation system with the LBs. -
when brooks goes to ir...

They will likely find a CB to sign ...Youbody is out there. When TJ is up to spead and they cut Thigpen they add another WR.....unless there is an issue with short term injuries at a position. -
Interesting conspiracy theory http://bleacherrepor...buffalos-roster The idea that Chan basically buried Easley in order to get him on the PS this season. Which is similar to what was done with Jasper last season....he was listed as a DT but then he flips to an OL on the PS. Going into last season he was slated as the #2 WR. Given his heart condition and the uncertainty Gailey wants to ease him back intot he game.

Draft Picks - Gamble & Win or Use Em & Lose EM ?
djp14150 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily true....If you had 4 very good running backs do you keep all 4---no. It has to do with depth at the position. The Bills OL had locked in 7 spots locked in on the team going into camp. That means only 1-2 roster spots for grabs going into camp. Had Asper been a 1st-4th round pick he makes the 53 man roster. For the linebackers...they would have at most 7 spots of which 5 were locked going into camp. 1-2 jobs were available. They basically set their roster up by saying for each position there is also a backup player there....11 positions on each...so 44 players....then you have the 3 ST players for 47....that means 6 roster spots left over....normal depth rules say 3 on offense and 3 on defense. You try and guess who you can get to the PS and who you cant. -
They didnt pass on Tank.....Tank and Asper had to clear league wide waivers to make make it on to the PS. They DID NOT..Minnesota and Cleveland claimed them. Had they cleared both would have been on the PS. Teams that claim the players off waivers means they are on their final 53---not their PS. If they were on their PS Buffalo can go out and claim them on their 53 man roster without compensation. Its likely when they cut Thigpen one of the WRs cut comes back. Teams know who was drafted by other teams and had their info on. You cut your picks teams are looking to get them. Minnesota saw Asper in the game Buffalo played at Minnesota. They probably liked what they saw in him on that day.

Draft Picks - Gamble & Win or Use Em & Lose EM ?
djp14150 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually it's rare...very rare for a 5th or below draft pick to be something special that you can't replace with a simlar pick in the future. Most of the time they are serviceable players who can easily be replaced...all pros...no. When you are drafting 5th and below alot of it is based on need f the individual team...not best player available. When you get to the 5th or later there really isn't a significant difference on paper...it just depends on luck and them matching your system. So going into the draft ths past year....their glaring needs was OT, LB, and CB.......the rest was looked at more adding depth at other positions. That part of the reason the patriots have gotten picks. They isn't have glaring needs so instead of wasting picks n players not going to make the team due to depth...instead push the pick to the ollowng year in case you need depth then -
Thigpen took $1 million pay cut to stay
djp14150 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said this was a possibility n another head...either the cut and then resign hm or the negotiate a pay cut for hm to stay. -
Gaughn is reporting asper will be n the PS.

This is the kid not the dad...I think he is still in his late 20s.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8327050/source-seattle-seahawks-cut-kellen-winslow Looks like Seattle cutting him.

The percentages are going to be higher bacouse the draft was 12 rounds instead of 7. Even when you take into account compensatory picks and more teams you are still talking about 2 rounds less of players picked and about 4 picks less per team. The number of picks making the team is minimal...usually you slot 5-7 picks at making the team. Now with a PS you know some of the picks can get on their and develop. They also decided to do a draft combine which then made scouting and a similar measuring stick to measure players. With free agency costs are an issue. Draft picks are more important and cost effective. That is in part why Edwards got cut..besides the front switch...how much of a difference was he at $4 M vs a younger player with a much cheaper price tag. The cost savings weighed into his cut. Draft choices are cheap.

Gailey confirms that roster is not set

Also on branch......he is a system product. Different system he sucks. He went to Seattle in a trade and was a major bust....cut and then went back to the Pats. -
Tank cut - Carder to Cleveland Browns
djp14150 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If its he PS buffalo could still pull him from them to the regular Roster. He was likely brought in on their 53 man roster. -
A lisfranc injury is something totally different and rare .....which is what Schaub got last year. It's easy to break a bone in the foot but those don't take long to heal. Sometimes besides a break you can have ligament/tendon tearing which will complicates things. Another serious injuries is with the Achilles. The Achilles is what got Kyle Williams last year.

Who do you want on the Bills practice squad?????
djp14150 replied to G-Daddy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Teams can sign anyone eligible. They would like to sign their own guys. They don't have to. There are a list of rules on players beng eligible. Generally they can do two years on thePS. Even in one year of play. A player can play two many games to be in eligible for PS. I think Michael jasper is a possibility. He got cut by he titans. -
Dickerson is more of a WR than on the line TE. Then they have used spiller and smith. It sounds as if you want buffalo to go and trade for someone's starting second receiver...good luck with that. The only example of that seen was when bolden get traded by the cardinals to the ravens.
-
WR isn't that big of a need. Sure I see them drafting one in 2013. The top 3 picks would be qb, lb, and a position we need to replace due to UFA loss.
-
Brad smith is the wildcat qb/ emergency qb. The issue is with the second strng qb. Jackson will be but it will take him maybe 4 weeks to know the offense. Then thigpen gets cut.
-
If he is cut he gets $0. Players understand this. I'm sure the bills talked with hm about this and possibly restructured the contract.
-
I'm very skeptical......a foot injury causing a 10-12 week miss? Something else is going on or that time to miss.
-
Ricardo lockette cut by sesttle....he has 4.2 speed and 6-2 frame.

During the preseason he had njury issues throughout it whch in part affect his performance.
