  1. Part of this makes more work on the pats because they have to game plan if Fred or CJ will play. I do believe both will see some action in limited roles.
  2. If they dont have Fred/CJ for the Pats game it may be more difficult unles the defense plays big with turnovers/pick 6s. I would put the odds higher on the game at NE for Buffalo to win. They will should have CB Brooks back for that game. at San Fran...the Bills are a difficult matchup for them because of their streangths and SF weaknesses....also they can be caught looking ahead because they play the Giants the following wee. I would put it at 55% win chance. If they dont have CJ back this week--he'll be back for this game. at Arizona....they have a very good defense. Their defense is why they went 3-0. Teir defense gave then a 14 pts swing against the eagles with the sack/fuble/return near their goalline. They got another easy TD against the Pats because of a blocked punt (if I recall correctly--or was it a turnover) then a gift from the NE kicker. With Seattle..at the end the QB blew a couple of plays that could have been a game winning TD if he threw this way instead. Odds of 60%. Tennessee.....odds at 80% at Houston...a week off to prepare for Marios homecomming. The defense will be playing a big game here. I see it a close game. 50% chance. at New England....if they are without CJ/Fred for the home game but for this game I see Buffalo winning if they lost earlier. With New England they have hid the playbook until they play them. My best bet is they go 3-3 during this stretch.
  3. Buffalo can win 4 of 6 by winning the 2 at home and splitting each pair of the back to back road games. I havent heard confirmation of this...they should plan on staying out west for the week in between SF and AZ. They really need to go 2-4. They need to be 4-5 before the final 7 games.....they go 6-1 then they are 10-6. If they go 1-5 then they have to win out their remaining games to go 10-6.
  4. I agree he can play for about 12-15 designed plays the limits his chance of impact. He cant use that shoulder/arm to straight arm D-men. He will be limited on trying to get high passes...passes need to be near his body.
  5. The scab got picked
  6. The targeted boycott needs to be after those that represent households... The survey responders or those that have the viewer box for ratings. Only if they leave the game will it be replexted in viewership. If you or i stop watching it wont come out in the ratings. on another note... was waiting to see if te officials would call for a jump ball.
  7. 11 wins is safer....10 wins is a good shot provided you are in second place in your division because of tie breakers. If another team finishes at 10-6 for a WC spot (Steelers or Ravens,Chargers, or Broncos) if they end up in third the jets/pats tiebreakers determine their fate. dont count on 9-7 meaning playoffs.
  8. The way I asses the Bills is based on their schedule...not necessarily their record. Lets assume this...the race is between Buffalo, New England, and the Jets. the goal to have double digit wins and be in at least 2nd place. They all went through the AFC North games with the Bills winning theirs and the Jets and Pats losing theirs. A game up for Buffalo. Bills also beat KC while San Diego and Dever still gave to travel to NYC/NE respectivly. The Bills lose to the Jets isnt that significant if they can split with the Jets. BUT----by going 2-0 in noncommon games and the Pats/Jets assured of 1 loss the Bills will lose the third tiebreaker in sorting division standings. The order: 1. Head to head 2. Division record 3. Common games---or the flip record of noncommon games if they are tied and Bills were 2-0 while they were say 1-1 then the Bills will have a worse common game record. The Bills also have an advantage on NE given their loss to AZ. After Buffalo New England has to play Denver, at Seattle, Jets. If Buffalo wins next week the Pats could be staring at a 2-5 record after 7 games.
  9. If they sign him they have to cut someone....who???? Has he done tryouts with the Jags or the Saints...QBs who would have known him at Missouri.
  10. Cleveland has shots in week 6 and 7 with games hosting Cincy and at Indy. Their next two I would be stunned if they won at balt and at giants. With New Orleans they had going into this year a difficult schedule because they were playing two top/bottom difficult divisions in AFC West and NFC EAST. Their non common games are against SF and Giants. In their division they have an improved Tampa team. A big factor with them is if they quit on the season. If they quit then they could end up something like 4-12 or 5-11. They are still in this because Atlanta has to play the same opponents. New Orleans still has two games with Atlanta so they can win those two and then pick up a game and they have control of the division.
  11. that is NOT true..... under the newer NFL rules you are allowed the continuation of play to determine if it was a fumble or not. The ball cant be advanced but it can still be rules as a fumble. This happened in the KC-NO game. the KC RB McCluster (I think) after making a catch on an out route landed awkwardly on his are in pain and just dropped the ball. The official had blown the whistle. But reveiw showed it was a fumble. In SF-Min game Harbough got a challenge when he had no time outs left. Calls are very inconsistant.
  12. do the pick 6s count?
  13. Depends on the grade of the injury. Since he is a running back and this isnt his primary carrying of the ball he could play sooner because he still run. If this is very minor he could play next week given a cortisone shot if you specially design plays to try and limit shots to the shoulder such as a receiver in screens. He couldnt use the hurt shoulder to try and stiff arm players or blocks.
  14. Actually its smart to pretend you will because they expect you to...so some OL may not be playing full because they expect the time out. In Ot NO did not call a time out against KC
  15. It sounds as if the Redzone will be on the Sports pass...which means its the sports package that is on Comcast. On Comcast you can get NFL Network on high tier stations...you still have to have a box because its in high 100s. Its not at the saem level of an ESPN or NBC SN. The other sports stations and pay per view sports (NHL Center Ice, MLB package, NBA league games, etc) are in the 400s or 600s as a block. I regularly get NHL Center Ice package.
  16. I have heard stories from my Uncle. He has lived in the area for 25+ years. I live in the Seattle area so I ask him if he was interested in doing the game. He said he didnt. He used to regularly go to a niners game but in the last 5 years it seems to have gotten alot worse in the area and the way the fans are. I had said the environment makes the Raiders game look more appealing which isnt saying much. The issue is with the stadium and where it is. He is fine going to a Giants game. He will likely go to aniners game when they move toward San Jose.
  17. I havent had to deal with TW since I dont live locally. My cable is from Comcast and here how it works.... If you have a digital DVR box with the Sports package it should be included with it (they may riase the price slightly). With Comcast I get the higher digital tier of sports networks such as NHL Network, MLB Network, NFL Network, Redzone, as well as other cable sports networks devoted to Tennis, Soccer, College sports. This package would likely also include stations such as the Big 10 network. One of the big issues with NFL Network is that it wanted to be top tier at a similar level as ESPN or Versus (now NBC SN) or FOX Sports. The cable companies fought this and would only put it in a pay extra for cable division. I have not seen any confirmation that this will be different. I will assume it is just like how it is on Comcast and others..paid tier sports channel. The redzone..... This is a dead channel during the week. From 1pm ET-8pm ET (could sign off sooner if all games are done---if a game goes past 9pm they must sign off from the game). There are no blackout restrictions. They jump feeds between CBS and FOX on Sunday afternoon showing drives when they get into scoring areas and if big plays have happened (such as a pickoff, good return, 50 yd pass). Come the 4th quarter they focus just on the one score games. For example last week with the KC game being a blow out they didnt jump to show KC scoring the garbage time TD live...instead they showed the highlight 5-10 minutes later when there was a break in the action. If you cant see the big 4:25 DH game of the week this is a good option to see it. 3 games on national TV....10-12 games on Sunday with usually 7-9 early and 3-5 late. Its a good way to see some close late games. In the late games when there are few and they all are at half or breaks they then reel up and show highlights and post game interviews from other games. They dont show commercials. When you have simultaneous games happening they wil split screen it and show both at once. This week it looks as if Buffalo will air Pittsburgh-Oakland game. If you wanted to watch Houston-Denver you can see some of it (along with the other games) on NFL Network. In the close games they will focus on those over blowouts.
  18. After last years preseason...Easley was viewed as the #2.....
  19. Jets game CJ Spiller fumble call http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-fantasy/0ap1000000060816/Jets-defense-fumble-recovery WR mike Williams f Tampa bay against the giants starting around the 3:00 mark in the video http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000062545/Buccaneers-vs-Giants-highlights These plays should be called the same or not?
  20. I didnt see this posted.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/18/vince-young-money-broke-problems_n_1894884.html
  21. Lets look at this from a rational point of view....how can you even regulate it? Instead of kneeling down he takes the snap runs a sweep and then "trips" If you really want to make things happen a better rule change would be under 2 minutes once the play is whistled the clock is stopped (so teams dont need to burn time outs). The onside kick then would be the element of surprise. time outs are for challanges, to talk to the coach, ice the kiccker, or to prevent delay penalties. One rule I do want in place at minimum is the college clock rule where on first downs or after plays are whistled dead the clock temporarily stops until the official signals restart.
  22. San Fran is also undefeated.....2 will fal this week with ATL-SD and PHL-AZ games. My rankings of teams was based on last years performance and their offseason moves. If you look at interleague results the difference in results is based on the bottom teams of the league. Washington will possibly be 7-9. Same Wit St Louis, and Tampa Bay seems to have improved. Minnesota is competitive. On the AFC side you have teams going through a gut job and rebuild (Indy, Miami, cleveland, Jacksonville).
  23. In all honesty its too early to judge that. The only "upset" result was Arizona's win. home twams were 5-3..... The NFC is stronger at the bottom of their divisions than the AFC. the bottom 4 of the NFC...Washington, St Louis, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota are going to be competitive. In the AFC the bottom 4 are Miami, Cleveland, Indy, and Jacksonville where they all are in a rebuilding mode so right now they arent as good as the bottom 4 of the NFC.
  24. I think the team has some plays planned that are specifically designed for certain teams such as the patriots. They aren't going to open up the play book until they need to target a team.
  25. When it was 35-3.... Doesn't mean much.
