  1. I certainly wouldn't just place blame on Tyrod for the O-line issues-- that would be overly simplistic. But, would you not agree that some QBs are harder to protect than others? And would Tyrod not be one of those QBs? For the record, I'm not a Tyrod hater. There seem to be a lot of assumptions of an "agenda" on this site lately, in both directions, for anybody who compliments, or criticizes Taylor... There's a lot to admire in Tyrod, his mobility being one of those things. And, it's fun as hell to watch. But. I feel like that often translates into an unstable pocket that he stretches to the limit before it is really necessary, and I wish he would get that under control. I believe that if he could not drop so far back in his initial steps, and step forward into the pocket as he was reading the field, he could make a major improvement in his game, and change a lot of minds about his status as merely a "bridge quarterback," (which seems to have become an absolute given on this site). I also question just how much more difficult it is to pass protect vs. run protect. There are O-lines (the Packers', and Browns', for example) that excel at pass protection, and struggle in run protection. That assessment is from PFF-- I don't get ESPN Insider, as was referenced in this thread. (That same PFF analysis, BTW, had us ranked very close between pass, and run protection.)
  2. Last year at the Bills @ Rams game, Bills fans were outnumbered by about 4 to 1. But, it sounded like a Bills home game. It's pretty hard to quantify that kind of enthusiasm. My father-in-law is a Pats* fan. He was at my house watching the last Super Bowl, and left he house pouting before they made their comeback.
  3. I feel that he also stretches the pocket way too far, and never climbs up into it. Contrast the size of his pocket to that of someone like Matt Ryan, who will climb up into it to extend the play. TT's pocket is three times the size. How much harder is it to pass-protect when the O-line has to have eyes in the back of their heads to know where the QB is?
  4. I remember a similar study several years ago. I don't remember the university, or where we ranked, but I do remember a similar smell of bullish*t.
  5. I've worked on set with some of these people. I haven't worked with Costner, but he has a pretty good rep for being OK to be around, politics notwithstanding. Some that I have worked on set with: Sam Jackson? KING DOUCHE!!! Mariah Carey: BATSH*T CRAZY Rock & Spacey: TOTALLY COOL
  6. so, you're saying we should have run the ball less? Because you cant have it both ways.
  7. I didn't realize Holmes was a scrub.
  8. Comic relief. In the Maclin thread, it was food. In this thread it's this guy.
  9. This is just how it goes when you're a farm team for the Patriots*.
  10. Starting offense is almost the same, though. At least, so far.
  11. This is one guy who was probably pretty (quietly) happy that Maclin went elsewhere.
  12. What kind of food does he like?
  13. If someone could pull out all of the recipes from this thread and put them into a "Jeremy Maclin Cookbook," maybe throw in a recipe that included sour grapes, or something, it would be much appreciated.
  14. i bought a propane grill and was disappointed with the temperature. I want my grill to go to 11, and it only went up to about 8 1/2. So, I took out the heat plates, laid in a steel mesh, and covered it in lava rocks. Now that SOB goes to about 15. Another unintended upside to that was that the lava rocks collect all the grease, and fat, and crap that falls off the food, and it cooks better with age. As I understand it, the Ravens have too thin a cap space to comfortably afford Maclin, right?I'd be pretty happy if we signed him or Decker. But, I think maybe there is instant team chemistry with Maclin.
  15. If TJ Yates gets cut, I would take that as an indication that McD is comfortable with how well his system gets implemented, and that would be good news. And, if Cardale is showing any signs that he is losing his inconsistency, we should keep him, IMO.
  16. I wonder if we will ever see TT effectively throw up the middle. We almost never see TT climb up in the pocket, and until he starts to do that consistently, I think he'll continue to have issues up the middle. I hope Zay can have better success in that part of the field than Clay has.
  17. I was pretty amazed to see a commercial for opioid-induced constipation meds during the last Super Bowl. Opioid addiction has hit the mainstream, I suppose? But, I was appalled a couple years before when I was watching Sunday afternoon football with my young daughter, and they showed an ad for some cop-drama TV show that featured a close-up of a severed human foot.
  18. Out of curiosity, did you think he was done when he was originally cut? I didn't, although, I did think he was about to play his last season. His last play as a Bill, albeit in preseason, was fantastic, and included an awesome stiff-arm against a worthy opponent, iirc.
  19. BTW- who told Neil Greenberg that Jones was second on the depth chart?
  20. There are quite a few head scratchers on this list. Describing someone like Matt Schaub as "not ready for prime time," for example. Ryan Fitzpatrick 29th-- 13 spots behind Geno Smith? Was recent history not considered in this list???
  21. For what it's worth (which is, of course, damned little), Fred Jackson my all-time, favorite player. That, probably, says everything this board needs to know about me. All that being said. I have very mixed feelings about this.
  22. Then it's an obvious move to cut him. Seems unlikely another team will claim him. And then the Bills get a speedster in their back pocket that may recover down the road. Zero-risk move. Who's our fastest WR, now, btw?
  23. I love Gronk. It's the Pats* I hate. And, no, I don't think that is a contradiction.
  24. Fred Jackson. I understood the move. He was at the end of his career (although he did go and have some fun in Seattle his next, and last season). The Bills wanted to move on. I get that. I just hated the way it went down. One of my top favorite players of all time.
