After this trade, I predicted that we may end up having the same regret trading Reggie to the Chiefs as the Colts have had after trading Jerry Hughes to us. As it turns out, we have plenty of guys who can stop the run . . . oh, oops, wait . . . never mind.

McCoach must realize that his situation with his players is beyond precarious. I had a feeling after Monday's PC and his segment with Schopp and Bulldog that he was going to be intransigent about his original decision and go with Peterman - especially after his comments about not committing to meet with the leadership counsel. I think that McCoach probably already lost the team. He better hope for a couple of wins, but I have a feeling that the bills are going to lose the next two games . . . and it is just a question of how badly they lose. I suspect the Pats game is not going to be pretty at all.

'He literally didn't block me': Chargers' Bosa mic'd up vs. Bills

That is the one. I forgot her name. It was a joke in light of her prior story about Carr. -
In a word: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Not unless you want to risk Buffalo losing either or both teams.

I wonder what Mika has to say about this. -
I agree. I just did not feel like going through the entire litany.

It is going to be very interesting to see how many season tickets they sell for next year. There already was a drop off coming into this year, and I know from experience that the secondary market has been a buyers' market. It has been very soft.

My view: They got rid of the guys that they did not want on the team this year based on who they thought fit their DNA for this year. They went out and got Kelvin Benjamin to try to win this year. I think they want it both ways and have guys like you and others who will give them a pass for this year.
-
I suspect that McBeane want to have it both ways. In the event that we do not have a successful season (as appears to be the case), they can fall back on the rebuilding excuse. Personally, I think they are doing what they think they need to do to win this season. They also think that they are smarter than everyone else.

11-20: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers

I think you are on to something here. Given all of the cliches, I bet there is a motivational book or two that McCoach has read where these come from. Perhaps: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Rookie NFL Coaches" "How to Win Games & Influence the Pegulas" "Awaken the Backup QB Within" "Don't Sweat the Small (Run) Stuff(ers)" "The Power of Positive Cliches" -
If "buying into the process" (however one wishes to interpret that) is the deciding factor in whether the Bills get rid of a player, the Bills may have to release most of the team after this past week.

This is sooooooooooooo depressing. Every time I see or read about the Jags, I will get pissed off. What will be really depressing is when someone from the NFL announces: "With the 19th pick in the 6th round, the Buffalo Bills select Process McProcess."

I was at a party at the Fontainebleau the night before the "Katherine Webb" Orange Bowl between Alabama and Notre Dame. Alabama was staying there. The entire team and family members (including Katherine Webb the day before Brent Musburger made her famous) were hanging out in the lobby so we decided to hang out in the lobby. Everyone I passed by or otherwise encountered said "Roll Tide." I could not help but say it myself even though I am not an Alabama fan. It kind of rolls off your lips. I could not help myself.

11-20: McDermott and Coordinator Pressers

I did not listen or watch the press conference so I have no idea of whether McCoach used the word process such as: "We are going through the process" when asked who will be the starting QB. Reading the quotes above though, it appears that McCoach used the word "evaluating" when I would have expected him to use the word process. It would behoove the new PR guy to encourage McCoach and Beane to stop trying to co-opt Nick Saban. If they did not use it today, they were smart to make that choice. Trying to sound like Nick Saban does not magically turn you into Nick Saban or have his kind of success. One day, I half expect McCoach to accuse the media of feeding his team rat poison. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/nick-saban-believes-rat-poison-from-media-is-invading-alabama-players-heads/ -
The guy on the right. One of the interesting things about this photo is that Anthony Lynn is looking directly at McCoach. McCoach seems to be avoiding eye contact.

The wins were a mirage given that we had the 10th easiest schedule at the time.

Will this lot be given less than two full seasons? Will Jason La Canfora tweet rumors that they will be fired moments before a critical game next year?

Nate Peterman's performance against the Chargers
Peter replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB is probably the toughest position in sports (in my view). It is even tougher for rookies Bad coaches play players before they are ready. Sometimes it takes time and it is not good for a player's development to be thrown into the fire too soon. -

I give Nate Peterman full credit for appearing at the press conference to answer questions. -

Indeed. I have been a fan of this team for so long and your are correct. -

Yes, you are right. It must have been great for his confidence. Well done. -

You may be right about that. The past two weeks also have to be the worst consecutive week losses as well. We have the Chiefs and Pats coming up. We will see just how much McCoach is in over his head. -
I think Dareus and Ragland may have been some help somewhere along the way when the Saints ran the ball 25 times in a row (or whatever the number was).

All criticism of McCoach aside, I really feel sorry for Peterman. He seems like a great guy who has some potential to be at least a quality back up in this league. I really really hope that McCoach did not kill the guy's confidence. It must have been horrible for him especially with his parents there. I hope Peterman has enough confidence to not let this effect him long term.
