  1. Wade not wearing a head set was not him trying to be someone else. Wade also was a great coach with a great record and never should have been fired. There is NO comparison (as of yet) between McCoach and Wade. The repeated invocation of the "process" is McBeane trying to summon their inner Nick Saban. It is contrived and makes them look like posers. I remember when I first heard McCoach use the word (although he could have said it earlier). A day or two before the deadline to exercise the right to extend Sammy for a year, McCoach said that they were going through the "process" when asked whether they were to exercise the option. I thought, gee, WTF, that is funny. Here is a guy trying to sound like Nick Saban but is trying to convince people that they had not made up their mind yet and going through the process. I have this image of McCoach invoking the process when he decides whether to go to the bathroom or get a cup of coffee. In any event, I think even McBeane know (or have been told by PR) that they sound like they are full of you know what, because they do not say it as often, but they still cannot help themselves when it escapes their lips.
  2. It may or may not be "the" problem, but it certainly is indicative of at least "a" problem. These guys are so full of themselves and think that, because they use the word process, they magically will transform into Nick Saban. If they want to be original, they should come up with their own cliche.
  3. If you did not lose me already, you definitely lost me once you invoked the "process."
  4. I was depressed as well. I went to two of those games and felt horrible, but even after those losses, I knew: 1) We had hope and excitement for the following year; 2) Rich Stadium would sell out all or most games the following year; 3) No one could ever expect to buy tickets for $4; 4) Those of us who had season tickets never had one thought about giving up season tickets; 5) Marv Levy and Bill Polian did not go around saying the word "process" all the time hoping to sound like Nick Saban or even Lou Saban for that matter.
  5. I am an out of town season ticket holder. My family has had season tickets since the inception. I continued them after my Dad died. My only goal is to break even on the collection of games that I cannot attend in any particular season. As I mentioned in another post, I was not even able to sell my tickets to the home freaking opener at face value. That has NEVER happened before. This year has been a buyers' market like no other. I probably will renew the season tickets (for sentimental reasons more than anything else at this point) although it is getting harder, and harder, and harder to justify spending the money on season tickets. No matter what people may say, write, argue, profess here, the fact of the matter is that fans are voting loudly and clearly with their wallets about the decisions that have been made in 2017. It is not pretty.
  6. Hmmm. I wonder what the Browns think about GMs who like to undermine their head coach with leaks to the media and with ownership.
  7. At least we had hope (and a good team etc.) back then. People were not selling tickets for $4 back then either.
  8. I get what you are saying but this is so EASY to say in retrospect. Ask Washington fans what they think about everything they gave up to get RGIII or Jaguar fans about not "punting" on Blake Bortles. This list of all of the QBs taken in the first round is interesting to look at in retrospect: https://pro32.ap.org/Star-Herald/article/list-qbs-selected-first-round-nfl-draft-2000
  9. I just checked Stub Hub out of curiosity. Not a pretty picture if you are looking to sell tickets. I wonder how this year is going to effect season tickets sales for this coming year. Season ticket sales already were down coming into this season. People are voting loud and clear with their wallets regarding what they think of the moves the Bills have made in 2017 and what they think of the "process." This is pretty depressing.
  10. For Cleveland's sake, I hope Dorsey does not waste all of their "assets" like Tim Murray did.
  11. I used to think that we had the very best fans in all of sports . . . that was until I was at a game when many fans stood up and cheered when our starting QB got hurt because they wanted the other (diminutive) QB to play. I was truly embarrassed and realized that our fans are far from the very best. Now, my view is that we have a lot of good fans and not so good fans.
  12. No need to tell me anything . . . especially after the biblical three game stretch we had this season. Objectively, Rex was the most successful Buffalo Bills coach since Wade - even with all of the injuries and effort to undermine him. I get that some people are biased against him and like to throw around phrases like "tire fire" or "clown." To me, this was unfair given his relative success in context and how the guy embraced Buffalo. Even when the guy was being thrown under the bus, he never took a shot at Whaley or ownership while he was the head coach. You guys got your way so you should be happy. Congratulations. We have McBeane and their "process" and people are voting with their wallets by not buying tickets. Fun.
  13. We clearly disagree on whether "Rex had to go." It made no sense to fire a guy who objectively had been the most successful coach in the past 17 years of the franchise (especially given the injuries and effort to undermine him by Whaley or others). That will never make any sense to me. As for the rest, we agree with the Bills' previous professed emphasis on continuity. I am not particularly impressed with McBeane or their version of the "process." Nevertheless, as much as I am not impressed thus far, I do not see myself advocating that they should be fired in less than two years.
  14. I am referring to how the organization - not too long ago - preached how important continuity was and then decided to fire the head coach with the best winning percentage in the previous 17 years in LESS THAN two years notwithstanding significant injuries and being undermined by leaks just prior to huge games.
  15. This is the owner making this guy the scapegoat. I have to believe that the owner was all in on the approach and especially the moves at the top of the draft. Those are organizational decisions. The Factory of Sadness lives on.
  16. In other words, Sashi got the Rob Chudzinski treatment. I still don't understand how you hire a GM or head coach (Bills or Browns) and give them less than two years. Dumb.
  17. As an out-of-town season ticket holder who relies on the NFL Ticket Exchange to sell tickets to games to which I cannot attend, I can tell you that this entire year has been a: BUYERS' MARKET. For the first time in history, I could not sell the tickets to the home opener for seats in the lower bowl on the 45 yard line . . . not even at face value. Say what you will, but fans have let us know what they think about the "process" by voting with their wallets. I probably will continue to get season tickets yet again (our family has had them since the inception of the franchise), but I do have my doubts. Frankly, my only goal is to break even on the season (for the collection of games that I do not attend). If I cannot at least break even, it becomes harder and harder and harder to justify keeping the season tickets.
  18. The "hood" apparently did not include any of the players at the game on Sunday.
  19. Just as I thought. You are biased against him when making the statement that he is "one of the most embarrassing hires in franchise history."
  20. Rex had the highest winning percentage of any Bills head coach in the preceding 17 years and you think that he is one of the most embarrassing hires in franchise history. Sounds like you may be a bit biased against him. Oh well.
  21. I find it funny that Geno is calling ANYBODY other than himself a coward after he stiffed his teammate a few years ago and got punched. Not surprising that NONE of his teammates stood up for him then.
  22. This reminded me of the Lucic/Ryan Miller incident . . . except worse. I was surprised that NO Buffalo Bill seemed to want to do anything about this. Not just Kyle Williams. It must be part of the process.
  23. As for Rex, that is an easy sell given that most objective people would say that it is unfair to fire a guy in less than two years who had the best winning percentage for the last 17 years of the history of the franchise . . . especially given the injuries and people (Whaley? ownership?) throwing him under the bus with leaks moments before a huge game etc. Ozil - He is a very good player when Arsenal are in possession and he is interested. When we are not in possession, it is like playing with a man down. If he moderates his wage demands to a more reasonable amount, extend him. If not, get what what we can in the January window. Sanchez - I suspect he is going to leave as well. I would make another attempt to sign him before the January window closes. If we cannot, I am sure he would have a lot of value to a team still in the Champions league competition. Ozil also would have some value. Lacazette - I made a comment yesterday to another friend of mine who also is an Arsenal supporter. With Lacazatte getting injured, Lacazette is now officially an Arsenal player. Injuries are a rite of passage it seems. Speaking of injuries, I feel horrible for Santi. He is one of my favorite players.
