  1. The sad thing is that the Bears offensive line is not very good. Even though we were blitzing a lot, we could hardly get any pressure on him. The good news (as someone else mentioned), we still have the number one pick in the draft.
  2. I also liked the guy and had hoped that the Bills had picked him up. I seem to recall that he may be from somewhere around that area so it is nice that he is going to a good team and in the vicinity of home.
  3. The more I learn about and see Luck, the more I think that the Bills need to have the first pick in the draft. I just hope that the Panthers, Cowboys etc. can win a few more games (or at least one more than we do).
  4. If we did not have bad luck, we would not have any luck at all . . . .
  5. Perhaps the only happy ending at Cowboys Stadium this year.
  6. Perhaps he will tell Rome that he is a life-long Buffalo Bills fan. One could hope . . . .
  7. I also caught the show by accident. It was great. I remember watching Marcus. He was an amazing RB. It is tough not to like the guy after watching it. He got some horrible advice from his "mentor." Marcus seems like a good guy though. I also recommend the program to anyone if they show it again.
  8. FWIW - Patrick Peterson is one hell of a football player. I am not saying we should draft him with our pick, but he is a great player.
  9. We are the only team in the league that plays 9 away games. I could live with it if it meant the Bills staying in Buffalo and the fans at the game made it a "home" game for the Bills. So far, it sounds as though the majority of those attending have cheered for each team the Bills have played.
  10. With any luck, Luck will decide to enter the draft.
  11. Indeed he is
  12. Don't worry. It is common to be nervous. I had just turned 41 when we had our first son and 46 when we had our second son. Believe me, I was nervous. First you worry about the health of the baby and the mother and then you worry about the fact that this little guy is totally dependent on you. The fact that you are "worried" about being nervous shows (at least to me) that you are displaying the first signs of being a good dad. Kids do not come with a user manual. Each one has a different personality. You are not going to have all the answers -- no one does. If I could tell you one thing (something that I either read or someone told me), just try to make your child feel secure and loved. Don't burden your child with any of your troubles -- leave them at the front door. You will do just fine. There is a book that I bought (the name escapes me, but I still may have it somewhere) that is just for dads and takes you through each of the first few weeks and then each stage for the first couple of years. It has some very interesting information about being a dad, what to expect, and your relationship with your fiancee. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. If I find the book, I will let you know the name. Enjoy being a dad. It is absolutely the best part of my life.
  13. You have to give Fitz a lot of credit. He plays with passion and, for a while, was one of the few Bills that seemed to care.
  14. . . . or it could be that he is not very good - and certainly not worth a high first round pick.
  15. That would be true if Peyton Manning were in the draft. I am not sure whether there is anyone in the draft that fits that description. If there is, great. If not, let's not take a QB with the first pick just to say that we drafted a QB with our first pick.
  16. The Ravens made Tom Brady look horrible in the playoffs last year. Our line is terrible. It should come as no surprise that any QB that plays behind our line against a good defense (especially one that likes to put pressure on the QB) faces an uphill battle.
  17. Unless things change, I would not be surprised if one of these QBs pulls a Jim Kelly/Eli Manning on us. From our perspective (and I have said this before), if we draft a QB, we need to hit a home run given the money and everything else involved. The guy needs to be Peyton Manning rather than Ryan Leaf. If we are picking at the top of the draft and there is not a true franchise QB available, there is no point in spending the money just to say that we drafted a QB.
  18. It is impossible not to like the guy. He is one of the few players who actually seems to care.
  19. That was the one that I was going to pick. It applies equally to Buffalo unfortunately.
  20. For the compensation that I have read about, there is no point in trading him. Yet, when you speak to him, could you ask him: 1. Why he does not/will not go over the middle -- especially given that Roscoe has no problem going over the middle? 2. Why doesn't he fight for balls (and seems to wait on the ball)? 3. Why doesn't he come back hard to the ball/line of scrimmage when his QB is in trouble? Lee Evans runs a great fly pattern. He is not Andre Reed or Eric Moulds. I doubt that he ever will be a true number one receiver as those guys were. Opposing defenses seem to have little problem taking him out of games. The Jets did it with just Cromartie. When we play the Jets again, I would not suspect he is going to do any better against Revis. Part of the problem is that our offensive line is not equiped to protect the QB long enough to take advantage of the one pattern that Evans does well. If we upgrade our protection, perhaps we will see Evans be more productive. In the meantime, I would love to see him go over the middle. If he did that, I think that it actually would help his game.
  21. The Bills get little or no value for yet another high pick. I wonder if we would have taken Patrick Willis with that pick if the 49ers had not taken him. Oh well. I wish that this trade had happened before J. Bell was signed from our practice squad. I could at least be happy about that.
  22. A lock out may be the only relief from our misery.
  23. Do I smell perfect season? Whatever it is, it is putrid.
  24. Jabari makes plays. I always liked him. I am glad that he is doing well and was able to win the SB. We should have kept both him and Pat Williams.
