Very classy. I love the letter and the One Buffalo.
-
I guess he finally got over that shoulder injury that kept him on the injury list for most of the past decade.
-
On his resume, he will have Hall of Fame running back. On your resume, you will have keyboard jockey on Two Bills Drive. I wonder who will get the interview.
-
So snappy. Do I need to post that photo of Flutie with Jon Bon Jovi again? We all know he is full of BS (don't worry I know you were being sarcastic). Again, believe what you want to believe. Better yet, you may want to submit your resume to the Bills. Here is a photo I am sure you will like. http://www.buffalobi...43-21ebb216177f

I wholeheartedly agree with most of what you say. We could not be more fortunate to have the Pegula family owning both the Bills and Sabres -- both as fans and people who love Buffalo. The emotion he displayed amply demonstrates how much he cares about the Bills and Sabres as well as the community (much more so than saying he hates the Pats or Dolphins or anything like that). As I have said before, the Pegulas are the best thing to happen to Buffalo since the Pan American Exposition. We are all very, very lucky.

I have a feeling that someone who knows what it is like to run the ball in the NFL may just know a little more than you about doing just that. I realize that there are people here who are haters - just like there have been for other players. Whatever. Believe what you want. There is nothing that I am going to say - and apparently nothing that Thurman may say - about running the football in the NFL that will convince you and others.
-
I find it absolutely fascinating that the keyboard jockeys on this board are so confident that they know more about running the football than Thurman. Some of these same guys have also have been critical about the guards. Oh well.
-
For all of you guys that think you are qualified to criticize CJ, I suggest that you listen to Thurman's take on CJ from the John Murphy show - that is, unless you think that Thurman is not qualified to comment. It is on demand from the October 8th show. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/audio/Thurman_Thomas_Im_so_pumped_about_it/f13eccdc-661d-46c6-8e6f-01c2f2b7e1d1

Terry Pegula owning TWO sports team? Too much to handle?
Peter replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now that we have established that the Pegulas can own both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, maybe someone can check whether the Sabres can trade one of their three first round draft choices to the Bills. Just joking "obviously" (to quote Doug Marrone). -
He is not the best center in the league, but his guards are not doing him any favors. At the same time, I really like how he stands up for his teammates (EJ, linemen, etc.) when others criticize.

It is funny, when some of the reporters tweeted about Orton's response to that question, several people tweeted back asking which reporter asked that questions. To my knowledge, not one of them let the cat out of the bag. Did you notice that Sullivan defended the question in his column without letting on that he asked it. He wrote about it as if someone else asked the question.
-
Similarly, I noticed that, notwithstanding that Sully had pretty snarky re Marcell and even wanted the Bills to cut him, he did not have the guts to display any of his snark directly to Marcell during the post game press conference.

Bills - Patriots Week Six Game Flexed to 1 PM ET on FOX
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am just glad that they did not move the start time. I am traveling to Buffalo to see the game and have a flight out that night. It would have been horrible if they had moved the game. -
I did not answer the poll given the way it was phrased. I am very happy that he is on our team. I thought that he was worth moving up to get. I just think that he could have been had for less than we gave up given what the Dolphins traded to move up more spots and to a higher pick the previous year. Farmer out negotiated Whaley in my opinion. The market was set and we should have not blinked first. I even seem recalling reading how Farmer put the Bills on hold and the Bills thought they might lose Sammy. That is the oldest trick in the book. In the end, I am glad that Sammy is on the team. We should not hold it against him how much we gave up. I will feel A LOT better about what we gave up if the pick ends up being in the bottom half of the first round.

In a nutshell, you just summarized most of Sully's columns. Every day. I am just glad that they brought Vic back. I noticed him as well. I now follow him on twitter as well. Very enterprising of him to do what he is doing. -
Jairus Byrd Out for the Season [ Update: Torn Meniscus ]
Peter replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also do not with him ill either. Karma is a B word though. I have read reports that $26 million of the $54 million is guaranteed. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/jairus-byrd/ If that is the case, he should be more than ok financially regardless of what happens. As for New Orleans, many thought they were taking on too much of a hit on the cap from the get go. I presume he will be ok, but if for some reason, the injury negatively impacts his career or abilities, it is going to be a tough contract to swallow. -
Kyle Orton in action vs. the Eagles (video)
Peter replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for posting. -
To respond to a few of you: I have no problem with the Bills wanting to re-structure Fitz's contract. I would have done the same thing. As to whether Fitz made the right decision: He is making less money than Kyle Orton and has been with three teams in the past three years (counting the last year with the Bills). He had been with the Bills for four years and could have re-structured to stay with the Bills and perhaps finish his career with the Bills and further cement his relationship with a community that he and his family loved. His son is still a Bills fan. Instead, he resumed being a vagabond. I don't begrudge Fitz for what he did. He is a smart guy and made the decision that he thought was best for him and his family. I wonder when all is said and done, if he had it to do all over again, whether he would have made the same decision.

I agree that the Kolb injury negatively effected EJ's long term development. I have no idea whether it will be treated this way, but I would like to see the Bills continue to develop EJ while Orton is starting. We have a lot invested in EJ. There is little reason to close the book on him. He is not a finished product.

As a fan living in Miami who has had DirecTV since 1996 (because of the Bills and Sabres), I am actually pleased. My service has always been great and they are always willing to offer discounts etc. I have no complaints with DirecTV. I can still remember how pleased I was to call the local cable company in 1996 to let them know (borrowing a word from Kyle Orton) that I did not need their crappy service any more.

Yep.
