  1. Other than the birth of my kids, getting married, and birth of my sister, this is the BEST day of my life. I have tears in my eyes. The Pegulas are the best thing to happen to Buffalo since the Pan American Exposition. We NEVER have to worry about the team moving again.
  2. There are going to be a few guys at the Buffalo News who are going to spontaneously combust like the Spinal Tap drummers after Kim and Terry Pegula win the bidding. Bucky is one of them. He seems to have it out for them.
  3. After the cluster you know what of last year, I was ok with the OL performance yesterday - especially given their lack of playing time together. The Bears D line is pretty good. It does not get any easier this week or against the Texans in a few weeks. Cameron Wake and JJ Watt are going to be a real tests. I expect that there will be some peaks and valleys, but the performance should get better as they continue to play together and become more cohesive as a unit.
  4. We really need to give credit to EJ and the rest of the team including the coaches. There has been SO MUCH snark and negativity for most of the preseason through the BS LaConfora article. The Buffalo media has been very tough on EJ parsing every thing that EJ has done in practice and said about him. People have even criticized EJ's positivity. It is important to remember that EJ is young - both in age and NFL experience. It could have been very easy for EJ and the team to self-combust. They did not. Did EJ, the team, or the coaches have a perfect game? No. Instead, they won the season opener against a good team, on the road, in a city they have never won. We can build on that and have a successful season - hopefully without all of the snark and negativity that the Buffalo media and others throw their way. With the Pegulas hopefully buying the team and the team starting out with a hard won victory on the road, this could be the beginning of the renaissance for which we have been waiting. Just my two cents.
  5. I like Florio (for the most part), but this seems to be all conjecture.
  6. Wasn't LaConfora completely incorrect about something relating to the Bills not too long ago? I just don't recall as I write this. As an aside, I have no problem with these guys arguing and showing some passion. It also does not surprise me that people with big egos would argue. Also, there always tension between the front office types (who assemble the talent) and the coaches (who are responsible for how that talent performs).
  7. Actually, he has been very successful in that he has made a "small market team" as viable as it is.
  8. Great news. This helps TBN try to recapture the credibility they lose each day with Sully, Bucky, and Harrington. Vic is a real pro. We have been lucky to have guys like Vic, Jim Kelley, and Larry Felser. I also like Gaughan and Graham for the most part, but Sully, Bucky, and Harrington are just awful. Welcome home Vic.
  9. That would be GREAT news.
  10. I hate this whole process.
  11. Me neither. JBJ capped them out. On the other hand, there is no pretense as to what these Toronto guys want to do. As bad as the Bills look, the only thing that matters to me right now is that the Pegulas (or someone like them) are the successful bidders. I am tired of having to worry about whether the Bills will stay in Buffalo.
  12. This is the part that concerns me.
  13. No. Last year's high ankle sprain and his frustration about it.
  14. My brief notes about what CJ talked about with Rome: long camp; too many mistakes against TB; high ankle sprain; learned a lot from Fred and Marshawn; blocking out contract situation so it is not a distraction to him or teammates; EJ knows areas where he needs to improve but is up for challenge and is the guy to take us where we want to go; excited about Sammy; Wants to stay with the Bills; Loves being a Buffalo Bill, area, organization, teammates, fan base, fits his personality; Buffalo is a great place and easy to fall in love with it; Would be very dissapointing if we did not make playoffs.
  15. Just started.
  16. Nearly everyone on this board wanted the Bills to re-sign Fitz and Stevie and was excited when Mark Anderson was signed as a FA. Even the king of snark, Sully, was clamoring about when are the Bills going to do the right thing and sign Fitz to an extension. Hindsight is 20/20. At the time, I thought the Bills had overpaid for Fitz, but I cannot give the Bills to much grief for locking in a guy like Fitz. In the end, it was a mistake as was Mark Anderson. Alan Branch decided to be a couch potato and mail it in once he got his $3.1. I blame Alan Branch more than I blame the FO for that one.
  17. On the bright side, we did not trade Fort Knox for RGIII. Instead, we traded down and got Kiko as well. This past draft's trade may nullify that. If the pick ends up being a top or near top pick, this board may implode. It is a bit of a crap shoot when it comes to a franchise QB. I still think that the jury is still out on EJ. I had hoped to see more development, but I am not ready to give up on him. He has not even played 16 regular season games yet. It may be the toughest position in team sports. It takes time to read what NFL defensive coordinators throw at these guys. Unlike other QBs, EJ has not had the luxury to transition to the NFL game. The good news is that he seems to handle the pressure of the fans and expectations well. At this point, with our running game and defense, we just need him to be a middle of the road to better QB and not make mistakes that cost us games - while at the same time develop into the kind of QB that we would like to see him become. As far as his upside is concerned, I do not see him ever becoming a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Under the right circumstances and with some luck (no pun intended), I would like to see him become a Big Ben type of QB (without the off field issues). That is within the realm of possiblity, but there is a long road between where he is now and Big Ben.
  18. Ralph and his Trust are spendthrifts!

  20. We should not aspire to be Philly fans.
  21. "Fans" booing at a preseason game . . . . "Fans" cheering when one of their players gets hurt . . . .
