  1. I think that you are correct. Unless we hire Schwartz or a HC with some stature, I presume that Schwartz will be "super" miffed.
  2. That is interesting.
  3. I disagree. Hiring a coach is selecting a guy who is going to be the face of your franchise. You want someone who you will trust to be a great coach and leader and someone who you do not mind being with. I have no problem with the Bills taking their time and doing a thorough search. After what they just went through, I am sure they do not want to end up with another Marrone.
  4. The premise of your post is interesting. On the other hand, I would not exactly call this a Bills homer board. We have many aspiring Sullys and Buckys on this board (In fact, I am convinced that one or more posters is/are Bucky and/or Sully trying to drive their narrative).
  5. I would love to believe this. On the other hand, if he does not get a HC job, I would not be surprised if SD brings in another OC.
  6. As much as I defended him, I think that you are on to something here. Plus, he proved to be a piece of s*#t.
  7. Of all the guys that the Bills are interviewing, is there anyone who would fit right in as a "Buffalo" guy more than Rex? Trivia: As I recall, Rex lived in Buffalo when he was a kid when Buddy was an assistant coach with UB. P.S. I know some of you guys will say Reich because he played with the Bills. Nevertheless, if you were to hang out with the two of them over beers for an hour and were asked which one was a Buffalo guy, I am sure most of you guys would guess Rex.
  8. True. I noticed that the Daniel Day Lewis thread seems to have disappeared. Either the mods do not have a sense of humor or, perhaps, they are confederates who do not like Lincoln, apple pie, and America itself.
  9. Me too. The easiest thing to do may just be to stay in house.
  10. The Raiders wanted to find out whether the "game has passed him by."
  11. FWIW - I do not think that EJ has hit his ceiling. Obviously (to quote DM), I do not know whether he can or cannot be a top 15 NFL QB. Nevertheless, he is a good kid and works hard and is on our team. Whether we get someone else or not, we sure as you know what better develop him to see whether he can be a solid starter or backup.
  12. He has done that for sure. Cutcliffe is respected. I also like the present Oregon coach (Mark Helfrich). He seems like a guy on the verge of a big pay day either in college or the pros.
  13. I like Rex. I also like Schwartz. I think that Rex is a good HC and a great defensive mind. I also like the fact that he already does not like the Pats and there is now no love lost with the Jets.
  14. This just may be another example of the case of the curse of Nate Odomes.
  15. Unless the Browns were willing to let Kyle go to work with his dad as OC or as a result of the solid that the Bills did for the Browns/Pettine and their staff last year, I wonder if the Shanahans/Bills might be considering: Kyle as HC Mike in some other role working for his son. Complete speculation on my part.
  16. I did not catch that, but the clause (I presume) had the same intent as the Parcells clause (same agent) - it kicked in with the transfer of ownership (not relocation). It was easy for Ralph to agree to that given that he would not be paying it in any event and presumably was not planning on passing away in just two years (the guy was a survivor).
  17. If Marrone does not get an offer from the Jets, I will not be surprised to hear/read spin that Marrone decided he did not want the Jets job for some made up reason.
  18. He is supposedly one of the best and is well liked by both coaches and "management." Interesting trivia: He got his start with Reggie White. They lived in the same dorm at Tennessee or something like that.
  19. I agree: Jets source: Interview did not go well. Sexton/Marrone: Interview was excellent.
  20. Adam SchefterVerified account‏@AdamSchefter2m2 minutes ago Bills requested HC interview with Browns OC Kyle Shanahan, per team source. 0 replies146 retweets55 favorites
  21. I would presume that he would be seen more as a competitor to Whaley as opposed to a czar.
  22. I was the same way. Brandon must be really pissed given the way he has sponsored Marrone and got stabbed in the back.
  23. I will take that bet. I doubt Jerry Hughes is following St. Doug anywhere. In fact, Marrone's leaving probably increases the chance of Hughes staying.
  24. I am really enjoying Mehta's articles on Marrone. I also loved it when I read Lupica mention that some Jets fans are referring to Marrone as Kotite 2.0.
  25. "Obviously" - what goes around comes around.
