I never understood the hate for CJ on this board and some in media. His teammates love him. He loves the Bills and Buffalo. He also is a special talent if used properly.
Agreed. I wish people would stop it. Buffalo actually is going through a renaissance in no small measure a result of the Pegulas.
I actually think the Bills HC job is very attractive for football and other reasons.
Comments:
Fred is a great team leader and person.
T. McGee was a great player for the Bills when healthy. This report should give some of the keyboard jockeys in the media and here pause before questioning a player's manhood etc.
If you spent $1.4 Billion on a company, people would report to you too. As for the comment re Kim, that is something that idiot Bucky would say.
I hope that the Bills put up a sign (at the stadium and/or the field house) with the Vince Lombardi saying that people have mentioned the past week:
"Winners never quit, and quitters never win."
I think this is very true. Doug Whaley seems like a good guy and easy to get along with. He also was part of the committee that hired him.
Given the above, if you are a potential GM candidate, why in the world would you want to go to a team with a coach who has proven to be a complete back stabber.
Recipe for disaster.
The house impresses me in that, although it is very, very nice, it actually is conservative given what one might expect billionaires to have as a home.
The Pegulas are down to earth people - especially given how much they could spend on a house etc.
FWIW - I read somewhere yesterday that the Rex Ryan interview was going to be at the Pegulas house in Boca. I thought that this was pretty interesting (if true) and might indicate where Rex may stand in the Bills' view if he actuallly got an invite to their home.
Maybe nothing, but I thought it was interesting.
There is a very funny episode where Larry's wife calls him from a plane that she thinks might crash while he was watching a Jets game and he ignores what he she said because he was so wrapped up in the game.
When she returned home, he defended himself by saying that it was the fourth quarter and the Jets were coming back (or something like that) and of course he would have paid more attention if it had been the first quarter.
Very funny episode.
Another nonsensical statement in the article. The guy says that Marrone fired Cusillo for not treating people well. This is the same Saint Doug whom we all know from stories we have heard/read who treats people rather sh%#y.
What the guy says does not make sense. According to this guy Marrone was concerned about a football czar - in other words, Bill Polian. This is the same Bill Polian who had been quoted saying that Marrone had done a good job. This is the same Bill Polian with whom Marrone felt comfortable enough calling to trash the organization etc. "Obviously," this guy would love Marrone to get a job with the Jets so that he can get a job with that staff.
I had the same feeling.
I also have the impression that Rex is not the kind of guy who backs down from a challenge whether it be the QB situation or the New England Patriots.
I also think that he would absolutely love to face the Jets twice a year.
